What's new

Australia thrash India by 333 runs to win 1st Test within 3 days

He had more luck today...

Dropped a few more times and lbw another..

Haha seemed fine in the last 20 or so minutes I've watched

And commentators were saying same lol

Smith is confident that India cannot dismiss him.

I would believe too if I get 6 chances to bat.

He is a machine. He does not care what happened before. A weak minded batsman's confidence can get shattered if he gets s many chances.

Terrible we are not going to get even 20 wickets here

Its the pressure man.

Imagine 300 in first innings.

Target would be 190 with 4 wickets to go if Aus could have batted like this under pressure.

Add in drop catches and see.

Can't do anything if you get bowled out for 100 on this pitch where atleast 200-250 should be made bare minimum.

WAs not that good vs England either. Averaged over 30 compared to Jadeja's 25...

Pitches were relatively flattish so you don't expect spinners to average early 20s then

He was in the wickets whenever required

Don't worry folks. Wridhiman Haha will bat us to win.

Haha will score a double and win the match with a six over Starc's head

LOL...
And according to some. We should Worship him for keeping Parthiv out. :D

Yup, Jadeja needs to threaten both edges of the bat and he's only going to do that by darting it in straight and quick. He (and the commentators) got excited by the turn he's getting from outside off but it's easy to face because like you said, you can play inside the line for most deliveries and just wait for the bad ball.

Called it. Got to be bowling to bring bowled/LBW into play on these types of pitches. When the odd ball turns big you will find the edge because you're always making the batsman play.

Target is already out of reach.

If Aus declare at 500, it will be humiliating defeat for India.

Lots of questions will be asked about team selection. Ishant should not play on turners.

If India had taken their chances, they could have been chasing 300.

Did Indians consider Sachin's 80 in the WC SF great?

80 odd with 5 or 6 lives.

If India give Starc as many lives as they did Smith, he might score a triple.

Did anyone notice the genius of Mitchell Starc here?

In this pitch, you gotta bowl fuller to take the edge.

If you bowl fuller, he smashes you for 6.

If you bowl good length, he defends or happily gets beaten.

:))) I'm sorry man but I can't read your posts without laughing at your avatar.

Starc has batted brilliantly on this pitch.

It will be an injustice if he doesn't get MOTM.

Indians turning against Ashwin haha.

If he didn't do what he did yesterday, game was long gone. If catches were taken, would have finished Aussies long time back.

Even when not at his best, he manages to make a mark.

You need to learn to let it go and not whine about it to no end.
I'm only going on about it because so many thought it was a great innings... Would love to hear what they thought of Sachin's against Pakistan.

stop with joke appeals 4 times an over and maybe the umpires might take your appeals more seriously.

If this was the case, Aussies would wouldn't ever get a wicket from the umpires.

Umpire's job is to make right decisions. They failed.

Our Ishant uses the same technique. Only difference is that he blocks the fuller deliveries

Bhai no Indian cared about Sachin being saved by drops cos India won.

Same way Aussies won't care when they win this.

He is a big man with a lot of reach. Helps on these circumstances.

Also no pressure

Ashwin isn't really as good as he should be in India. People compare Ash with Murali but Murali was much better stats wise. Ashwin leaks too many runs very often.

Yeah exactly.

Sunil Gavaskar joined in with the praising of Jadeja a minute ago, going on about how he deserved more wickets but I dunno. I haven't watched the first two days but I have to disagree with the praise for him today, he's not a dumb bowler and he knows better than to bowl like he has this morning.

The big turn has been more for the camera than to trouble the batsman.

I checked his bowling speeds and it's no coincidence that the wicket of Smith came from one of his faster deliveries

He needed to be doing that more today instead of thinking "Wow, that turned lots! I should do that again". Forget turning it, he should have darted it in as fast as possible for a couple of overs and seen what happened.

Look at where those balls are ending up, all those red dots outside off stump excite the commentators and get them to praise you but they are absolutely useless to your team.

The innings has been long forgotten because of how bad it was for Sachin. If it had been great, Indian's would bring it up every time someone questions his ability to perform in big games.

Jason Behrendoff 9/37 on his first match back from injury

Good week for Australian cricket

Bradman's average is 25 now, it will get closer to 30 after more series away from home.

Wow..

Jadeja's average is lower than Bradman's :))
