Good that this happened before an overseas tour. We always knew the problems with the Indian Test team. Those were hidden in these flat pitches and unprepared visiting teams. We can't have two openers both inconsistent. If this is what is repeated, at least lets have one left hand opener (that's what Parthiv did) or bring Dhawan back or any new player. Pujara should have matured by now. He is not even getting big scores on flat pitches consistently. Rahane's place in the team is questionable (If he is so good player, why not at least open the innings?). Ashwin cannot bat at No.6 and we need wicket keeper with some batting skills (or some "batting" role in the team like how Parthiv provided). I was not convinced with the Jayant dude even when he had good stats in the previous series. If 5 bowlers (3 spinners) needed, why not go with a proper spinner?
