Listening to Mark Nicholas is torture. Easily one of top 3 worst commies in the world. Hate his cliches and his cringe worthy attempts at analyzing the game.

Wonder hos much the Indians will get on this track. They are also playing a long tail this time around.

Phainta for indians. BlackThunder still bleeding blue?

Absolutely, through the good and bad bleedblue I alway do. Don't be fooled by the scorecard we got this series. We will make history by becoming the first Asian side to beat Aus in Aus #BleedBlue #Believe #historywillbemade

I'm sure Australia will declare by lunch tomorrow at 500/6 or thereabouts

At the moment its #bleedruns

Have they decided how many matches Kohli will be suspended for for this atrocious over rate?

What's the latest on Pup? Is he gone for the series?

Might as well suspend him for the entire series. Isn't going to score runs anyways.

Zimbos, 2nd most successful team in utilizing the 2nd new ball after SA :O - They Avg some 22 runs per wicket :14: good going lads

First time I've been able to catch some live footage. Pretty poor bowling, one good ball, two bad balls etc. Not building pressure.

Still Aussies' day.

We need to get them under 450 to have any chance

Outstanding performance by the boys on this flat road, Aussie get ready for a phainty #BleedBlue

Excellent bowling on flat patta :hamster:

Bowling was pretty below average throughout the day and it had nothing much to fo with the pitch. Just the line and length was bad apart from the last 20 mins when the bowlers started hitting the right areas.

Well done for sticking with it to India- teams can wilt when the going gets tough at Adelaide but they kept discipline in the face of an Oz attack on their bowlers.

Good signs for Kohli's captaincy.

6 wickets on day one at Adelaide is a pass mark (slightly better than it seems with Clarke retired hurt). The run rate is high but when Warner fires, that is unstoppable.

If India keep the score to <450 they will actually be right in the game. Still 4 days left in the match and runs can be scored qquickly until day 4 when it starts to get tricky.

Very good final session. Both Shami and Aaron need consistency and they will be a handful. Hopefully will learn with time.

And nice to finish the day's quota without any overs short.

I've seen quite a few matches at Adelaide with first innings scores of 450-500 each side, then it turns into a last innings shootout on a deteriorating pitch.

yeah Adelaide 2004 comes to mind.We have to bat well, thats the more difficult part against Harris and MJ.

Game on I think. Good comeback from India after getting pulverised early in the day. Australia still in the drivers seat but 500 when Marsh and Smith were batting is looking more like 400 at this point. Doesn't look like Clarke will be back so we're effectively seven down. Very soft dismissal from Haddin, that's what pressure of not wanting to lose your wicket does to you.

The OZ scored their runs quickly so plenty of time for India to do the same. There's heaps and heaps of time for a result.

With clarke likely out for the match and possibly the series you might even say india are just ahead in this one.

Don't remember when was the last time we ever came back in an innings like this. Definitely don't recollect under Dhoni. One instance would be Brisbane 2003 where after day 1 Aussie papers said Indian summer over. Luckily Zaheer bowled well on the second day and came back strongly.

Barring the late wickets, I think it was a horrible day as usual for Indian quicks sans Ishant. Worst possible start to the first session. Hope they perform better in the coming days. Kohli's Captaincy has been mildly refreshing.

Is Clarke's injury that serious to rule him out of the match and the series? Sad for him, quite clearly he was desperate to play this test, else could have waited , recovered more and then comeback for the 2nd test.

Am I the only one who thinks we missed Kumar today.

At least he wouldn't have gone at an economy rate of 5.5+

Australia's day IMO inspite of the last 10 overs. Unless we bowl Australia out for under 400, there's not a chance of us doing well here. Aaron and shami were poor initially and karan sharma is not a test class spinner.

it's Adelaide not the gabba, 400 at Adelaide isn't even close to safe hell 500 isn't safe for the batting team.

It's just smith and the tail left tomorrow so it's 50/50 really, india wrap it up in the first hour they are on top.

You're forgetting that our ceiling is 275.

With Australia's bowling attack of Johnson and Harris, I think its enough to score 400 here especially considering what Johnno did here last year.

400 is tad too high with Johnson and Harris in opposition. Surviving new ba is the key

Thing is, you see most of the Aussies posting here are expecting India to fight and put up 400/450 and be right in the game.

Of course, a Jonhson lightning strike could happen- but it really would be unbelievable on this wicket. The England game was just one of those super spells that come along once or twice a career but on this pitch I'd expect Johnson to be survivable.

I've seen Aussie attacks of mcGrath, Lee, Gillespie and Warne go for 450 at Adelaide. Only Johnson and Harris belong in that company, the rest of our attack isn't crash hot so if India apply themselves and see Johnson/Harris off until the sting goes out of the ball they can hang in the game. But they'll have to bat well.

It's all about hanging in the game, staying disciplined with the ball and making sure you're still close on day 4/5 at Adelaide. It's a little bit like an Aussie version of an Indian wicket in that way.

Based on our track record over the past three years, we're most likely going to be bowled out for 275 and 160, flat pitch or no flat pitch.

The bowlers have done decently well . if we can get them under 450 , job well done .

As for batting , our batting still dosent have the experience to get 500+ totals even on flat pitches . The Likes of Rahane , Virat and Pujara may get 100s but t get to 500 we need some one to score really big .

When was the last time an Indian batsman scored more than 115? I can't even remember.

India actually on top in my book.

Batting friendly conditions and Aus are effectively 354/7 (possibly even 8 if Clarke is too hurt to play in the 2nd). Australia have to be really worried about what happens if David Warner doesn't score. The rest doesn't look particularly great at the moment.

If the batsmen are alright India have every chance.

A lot of it will depend on the Aus bowling attack. Will they perform the same way that India's did? If so then it's definitely game on.

A bit off with your numbers there - it's 6/7 and not 7/8.

Smith has been top notch the last year or so as well as warner, rest of the top 6 are a worry though.
