These Aussie pitches are very flat and since they come on the bat good it's even easier to score. Hope they remain same next year when we go. Might sneak in a draw

Often seems to end up with a 3rd innings collapse in these 550 plays 550 games so im a tad worried, we are a man down as well with usman out.

Would be interesting to see if NZ can surpass Aus tomo. Looks like they will, but you can never discount Aussie bowlers.

Taylor needs to hit out, Boult needs to survive Starc first though..

Boss Taylor always looks so unassuming and disinterested, but is quite the clutch player.

Big fan :rosco

Great innings Taylor. Really changed the complexion of this game.

Now the key to the game is Warner.

If the kiwis can bowl like they did first session on day 2 they are in with a shot of winning this.

It's practically a nailed-on draw.

Australia is 65 runs adrift at the start of Day 4's second session.

At best, they would declare halfway between lunch and Tea tomorrow having scored 365 runs, setting New Zealand a target of 300 runs in 45 overs.

Alternatively, if NZ can bowl them out in 2 sessions the target would be 140 on Day 5 or if they took 3 sessions to bowl them out it would be a target of 240 after lunch on Day 5 in 60 overs.

So basically, it's a draw. Australia can't declare early enough to bowl the Kiwis out.

We can't win, draw is fav kiwis win the next best bet.

Fair enough really as amazing as our day 1 was we have been totally outplayed the next 7 sessions.

This will be a draw , tough to get wickets on this surface , there is bound to be couple of good partnerships.

Australia in lead now , kiwis need a destructive spell from someone or some poor batting by Aussies to have a chance

Granted that the deck is flat but cant help appreciate the attitude of both the teams and specially Australia. The brand of aggressive cricket has been outstanding mostly from the batters bit also from Mitchell Starc.

The good thing is that , Aussies despite losing wickets have been aggressive , under lehman they have changed there attitude and are playing a brand of cricket that made them successful .

Us attacking on this dead pitch is pretty much the only way nz can win and it's nothing new this is the only way we know how to play when we are behind the match, our inability to grind out draws is why we won't win in asia or england anytime soon.

Rosco deserved a triple. Super knock. Apparently the highest score in Oz by a visiting batsman.

Miss Greigy. Would have defo stuck a key or two in those cracks.

Flat pitch or not, I like the way the two teams have played aggressively and accumulated 1400 runs in less than 4 days. You can produce a result if you score at 4rpo even on a road.

Yeah at least both teams have gone at a fair click. Still tho had a draw written all over it from the beginning barring some shoddy batting.

Aussies should be punished for preparing such a clearly unfit pitch for test cricket. The WC was a pathetic joke and this series is going on in a similar vein. I would rather take pitches which produce 3 day games with collapses than the runfest that is on display here. The only way you can get out is by doing something really stupid (Yes Macca and Taylor, I am looking at your 1st test display).

And no not just the aussies. Even we are similar. Sometimes, we produce a pitch which looks like a green mamba on day 1 which suddenly cools down and produces 500s and 600s. Absolutely dislike these dead as disco pitches and want more balance between bat and ball.

Ironically, Sri Lankan pitches are probably the best in test cricket today after South Africa (which are getting flatter too!). Lankans after decades of criticism, have finally produced tracks which are alive and sporting. Bravo!

Indians are excellent as well these days though they favour the spin a bit too much. Abu Dhabi is a slow turner and pretty flat but Aussies comfortably produce the flattest pitches on this planet.

Lead of 193. Excellent by Smith. Three boundaries in a row. Need to keep this onslaught on NZ till lunch and then bowl. We may still have a result here :P

Taylor - 290
Warner - 253
Williamson - 166
Smith - 131*
Khawaja - 121
Voges - 101*

Bloody joke.

I would like to suggest you stop following this series Varun, it seems to be getting you very upset. No game is worth your health.

Is that all you got huh? Maybe with all the money you folks got, you could afford a pitch with a few grass blades on it. But no, you are just gonna let your players fatten their batting averages so that years down the line, they can wear their cheap suits and talk drivel all over channel 9 and butter up their mates.

And instead of worrying about his health, maybe you and the other corporate shills from the CA should worry about the health of the game which is in desperate need of a defibrillator.

Add to that, the juiced-up speedometers (Which have always been the case especially after seeing indian pace bowlers regularly clock 145 down under and barely 135 elsewhere) and you got a product which is going to dwindle in viewership both on the ground and off it.

This is an average comeback. You make a poor salesman, you should not be advising me to not use your product or use a competitors' product. Instead, you should make yours the best it can be.

And if you're saying your Perth pitch vs New Zealand is anything close to competitive, you simply have no idea.

I definitely new Aussie speed guns were doctored when Sir Vinay kumar was clocked at 145 km/h after barely clocking the 125's in domestics :))

CA don't give a **** about the players averages they just want their 15 sessions, only thing they care about this summer is the pink ball test.

Very happy for Voges at least. Sure it's a flat wicket but I've met him and he's a great bloke and he's a great servant of WA cricket and a century at home is something that nobody will ever be able to take from him.
