What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 1st Test | Brisbane | Dec 15-19, 2016 | Day 4

I was disappointed about not seeing Waqar - he is a huge hero of mine.

I was kid when I met Waqar for the first time. That was Waqar before his back injury and he was hugely popular. He was playing at a local cricket stadium in a domestic tournament.

They have been batting well so far. Hopefully they won't play the usual stupid shots and throw away their wickets.

Yeah I heard once that Sangakara and AB learned there sweeps off YK.

Although I'm not 100% sure if it's true.
Not sure if he learned it from him, but Sanga spoke about how good Younis's ability to sweep is on the masterclass with Sky Sports.

Babar lost the chance twice in this match. If a No. 3 gets out to slip twice in a match after batting for more than a hour both times - he should carry drinks for 1 match.

God commentator is so annoying. He will be ready when he is ready, stop repeating yourself.

104-2 Masha 'Allah much improved from 97-8

I wrote it yesterday - Babar played a horrible shot after an hour of batting under light & Sami was 6th out poking at a leg side ODI wide after batting the toughest 25 overs. Babar's casual shot opened the gate from one end, otherwise, almost similar score was possible in 1st innings as well.

I don't like Ian Chappell's commentary. His voice is quite boring and he keeps repeating the same thing!

He was unlucky last night.

They had just changed the ball, and the previous one had been spinning but that went straight on.

I felt sorry for him.

BTW, hailstorm warning just issued but I suspect it may pass southwest of the ground.

Wade is an awful keeper.

Two Kamran Akmal-level misses in this match.

Was that an edge? Azhar needs to watch the ball. He is trying to hit the ball with closed eyes.

Junaids - do you think YK has a great potential to be AUS/ENG assistant batting coach? His spin play is unbelievably good. Lara looked elegant against spinners, but this guy has his own method to manage & he is damn effective.

He wants to make it fair on the Aussies by batting with his eyes closed, no fun if he gets a triple century every time.

Yet another edge from Younus. Pathetic captaincy from Misbah, target of 490 and he's only put two slips in :srt

Nope he needs to score 300 today. It will be better than any of his other triple century.

Boss, I watched his batting against Lyon - it was good that he was out, otherwise looked uglier than YK against bounce.

I'll be more than happy if PAK post 383 and loses gracefully, rather rain ends match at 245/9

Yaar aaj hi overcast conditions honi thee

bahahahahahaha I was just messing around but Mark Nicholas just asked Clarke if Smith's captaincy has been attacking enough :)))

Steve Smith is discovering that nobody can resist the Misbah effect :misbah

I think, YK has scored 38 of his last 63 balls - something missing in any other PAK batsman - it's always 40% SR - be at 10 or 110 ...

We might be in for some insane swing later

Aussies are going to take thins Goal Keeper in India!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valid question

Just because a lot of captains are doing it doesn't make it right or the norm

And Clarke, the poster boy for crazy fields and "out of the box thinking", said he's been happy with Steve Smith's captaincy.

Yet if Pakistan utilised the exact same field settings and bowling tactics it would be ripped apart by a particularly vocal section of PPers with claims of "This isn't the UAE" and "Australia wouldn't be this defensive"

Seems like you are quite concerned for the Aussie's tour to India.

Not concerned, rather I wish to see good Test cricket - AUS & IND under respective Captain is the best contest now, where ever the game is played.

Guys does anyone know what channel the cricket is showing on in the U.K.?

Australia will be much better than England in all three departments, they are missing a quality spinner though.

Mark Nicholas: "It does not look promising. Lightning in the distance."

We wouldn't mind some of that :P

What the locals say - any chance of further play today?

Wth? Rain doesn't come when we need it or here it comes to ruin the match. We have plenty of time though.

I hope it rains in the last session so we don't have to bat under lights.
