What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 2015 World Cup | Quarter-Finals | 20th March, 2015 | Adelaide | Pak innings

Exactly. But as a Pakistani, I'm dreading the future of our one day side after Misbah. We need to find a consistent batsman or two like Misbah as soon as possible.

Ahzar Ali or Fawad Alam, both know how to occupy the crease and rotate the strikes. Also calm head on both too and age is on their side.

Misbah hardly gets out on 0 a fact "Misbah was caught behind on 0 in Champions Trophy match vs WI'2013. Misbah then went on to score unbeaten 96 and Ramdin got banned. #Lucky"

:))

What a shot, Misbah finding the gap at fine leg with ease. He's in such control that he refused to use the middle of the bat. :misbah

Where is the support for Shahzad now after last game when some of you posters were having a go at me. This is why I was looking beyond that match because Shahzad is a useless player, no point hitting boundaries to make up for a slow start if you do not know the art of rotating strike. He got away with it against UAE and Ireland but there was never a chance against Australia. It showed, he is a coward has been all tournament and is a walking wicket along with everyone else apart from Misbah Safraz and Wahab.

Been saying this for 3 years now, he's a nothing player and as much of an opener as someone like Hafeez.

People keep falling for his attitude, which won't look out of place if he was a worldwide superstar.

definitely Allah having Mercy on Misbah, its his day for hundered. twice missed getting out.

Haris is absolute quality.

He already has a ton against Johnson and co but in a practice game.

Key is to play 50 overs even make 220

Australia have ridiculous fire power with both bat and ball; no team comes remotely close..

That's better from Misbah, no one asking him to take 6 singles in an over, just couple of singles in an over from him...

not bad start, strac off attack. just survive next 4 overs then batting shoudl become easier.

Azhar Ali is a bit too defensive to be an ODI player imo.

Regarding Alam, why wasn't he taken to the WC? I thought he was in good form.

How much slack I got from posters here because he was scoring boundaries after boundaries that was after he got off the mark on 12th ball where Safraz was rotating strike nicely, people were still happy with his 50 in which half was in boundaries and when I rated Safraz 50 more than Shahzad, you can imagine how Shahzad fans must have felt coming out in full attack mode on a forum. Silly because Safraz ended up with century and only 6 boundaries. What has Shahzad done all world cup apart from play snail pace. Don't need no opener like this who does now consolidate and take advantage of the first 10 overs which is always crucial.

We do not have the players to go berserk with 150 runs in the last 15 overs because we barely have any wickets left so best to get going in the first 10 briskly, let the middle order control the middle overs and then finishers can try and do their job. We need a new aggressive opener agggressive in a way of rotation not stick cricket.

He was in good form, he was involved in big partnerships and rotates the strike well. He isnt a big hitter or aggressive so I guess thats prob why he was not picked.

lol.

Kane Richardson(Aussie bowler) just tweeted me saying 'Good start by Pakistan' being sarcastic as I've owned him a lot in the past.

Lets hope we can win so I can show him this tweet. In sha Allah.

Shehzad's SR for the first 50 runs is around 65. That's really poor, because unless he converts it into a hundred and ends up with a SR of ~80, his knocks do nothing for the team.

71% dots in the first 10 overs, fails to give any momentum to the team and then gets out playing a nothing shot. He seems to do enough to retain his place in the team but doesn't do much to help either, which makes him a very frustrating player.

Azhar could be our Trott, send him in one down with one instruction: Make sure you're still there until the 40th over.

We have the bowling to make life difficult for any team as long as we put 260 on the board

The difference great fielding makes. Aussies very sharp in the field. Runs wont come easy at all.

i dont mind they have great bowling and batting, but i hate the most is their great fielding that stops our 4s!!!! :(
