Having a guy like Azhar at the other end taking the responsibility of batting through the innings gives the brainless guys like Umar Akmal the freedom to play their shots. I don't think it's a coincidence that Umar looks most comfortable when Misbah is at the other end, having a steady player opposite him helps to clear his mind imo
