What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 2nd Test - Day 1 | SCG | 3/01/10

I think I'll look at something else to do. There is very little chance there will be any play today. I'll check back hourly.

I suppose this can be thought of as a blessing. Its harder to lose in 4 days instead of 5

Its all very well the likes of Mark Butcher & other Sky guests in recent weeks sucking up to The 2Ws in 2010 & how pioneering their bowling was - where were these voices in 1992?

THose of us that lived through that unpleasant time dont forget....

hasham - any chance we will have play today?

Dont no boss...looks really cloudy at the moment...it is still raining near the ground. We should get something today

cheer up guys..had we been batting this morning, we would probably be 3 or 4 down by now and everyone on here would be fuming...at least we've survived a session without losing a wicket!!

hmmm 4 more days of rain and yousuf would have done the impossible, draw a test in australia and avoid a whitewash.

No drizzle. I am guessing play will start after lunch (ends in 15 mins)
And if it doesn't start, Aamer may play!

are you serious?can anyone confirm this?

No rain at my place for the last 25minutes. Going by the webcam at Anzac Parade just outside the ground, none of the cars have their wipers on. Rain must've stopped there as well

Hmmmm chocolates or ice cream.....tough choice to wile away the time
Have Flake, unofficial sponsors of Pakistan. The flakiest crumbliest batting line up in the world.

SCG cam is updating full images now.............. pitch still covered
More than few on the ground................Not sure if it's raining

THE SCG cams showing alot of groundsmen making their way to the covers, hopefully the covers will be comming off shortly.

I can here Shane Warne and I think Mark Nicholas talking in the background.
They will give the update in 3 minutes

I think by the time they take the covers off,the grass would have grown knee height..................

There should be an update from the ground very soon...they should be going back to the cricket...

I still see heavy cloud cover. The visibility isn't that great. Hoping for the best.

Does anyone remember this ad on PTV.
* Wasim bhai aap thakte nahin?
Nahin main cigarette nahin peeta.

Main charas peeta hoon.

no rain...the covers are still on at the moment...kids sliding around still. Nobody has there umbrellas out either, but the umps are walking off

Sorry folks, still drizzling. After drizzle starts you have to wait 20 minutes.

I can't take it any more!!! I waited a week for this crap!!!

WHY are we not playing?
It is only drizzle. I don't see ANYTHING.

You have to consider the already damp outfield. If its drizzling the water is on the ground and not evaporating/draining.

I am watching Ricky Ponting spank the Indian trundlers all around the Adelaide Oval on star cricket.

What did they say?

Shane Warne asked how many minutes until they update. Nicholas replied 3. Cricketers are seriously soft. They refuse to play because of DRIZZLE? Not even rain. :pissed: :pissed:

A single ball hasn't been bowled but we have 7 pages of the first day thread. Now this is passion, PakPassion.

The cam shows the day has brightened a bit but rain drops still cover the cam. Its an on and off kind of day. I think there is a 50/50 chance we'll have any play.

Yes that's true, if it's a drizzle then they should be playing. Atleast get some cricket in.

If we have umpires like Ashocker De Silva, and Billy Sahab! then Something has to go wrong, in this case they are not starting play because they are not finished eating thier cookies, and finished drinking their chai!

1:00pm: The covers are still on, the wind is blowing but there is no rain at the moment. The umpires will come out and have an inspection and hopefully we will have some play, stay tuned. The ground staff is out and working.
