Australia v Pakistan | 2nd Test - Day 1 | SCG | 3/01/10

Rumour has it that seeing the grass on the wicket, Farhat and Butt were asking Moyo for leave to go to the rest room at quite frequent intervals.

SKy pundits agree with Ian Chappel 0 that the Marcus North LBW should have been OUT!

Actually they have solved this problem by moving :inti chair to last. Now everybody is getting their fair share.
A simple yet ingeneous solution. :))

DO NOT ask for or post any links to streaming sites - if you persist, you will be banned for the day - Thanks

wasnt there supposed to be an Afridi match today on Jan 3rd? What time was that?

Imagine!

Aamer
Sami
Asif
Kaneria

:)

I seem to remember that most people were against Sami before the start of the match, labeled a sifarshi, doubting his claims as opposed to those of Tanvir Hussain, Mohammad Talha, etc. And to be honest, I didnt agree with Sami's selection myself. I can honestly say that I am happy I was wrong, even if this is a one time performance, because it has been an exhilarating evening

It's better than doing it on the pitch. The pitch already has a lot of moisture

Predicted path is not considering the speed and bounce. Asif bowl could not have bounced as much as predicted. Shane Watson was out but not given but we end up wasting a referal. We have been undone with two LBWs.

No he wasnt - it pitched outside

LOL.

Have sweet dreams about Aamer, Sami, Asif, Kaneria uprooting the Australians Oxy!

4.40pm The covers have been placed over the pitch with rain delaying the start of the evening session.

the thing is good or bad pitch this pakistani batsmen always score around 250, so hopefully that can score that much

Ball would have gone to hit the off. If he was given out, the decision would have held the challange. Aus commentrators also said this just now.

I admit to being wrong too. I did not post my thoughts but believed getting Sami back was a terrible decision.

I eat my words now!

SAMIIIIIIIi!!!

Of course. And we are very grateful to them for their consideration.

Rain is back to spoil the perfect day for pakistan.
It may be blessing for them so that they can't bowled out the Aussies today and then bat with the ball darting around and loose early wickets. Well they are bound to loose early wickets anyways but what I mean it will be better for them to bat tomorrow. :akmal

After watching the boys' perfromance of today, the smile on my countenance is something roughly resembling this (minus of course the quite magnificient moustache):

yeah but for slightly different reasons than most people on here. the issue isn't really with Hawkeye but with the review system itself. it's meant to remove howlers (like Clarke's lbw to Gul) not overturn a decision that 99% of the time looking on TV you would say was a fair decision. but if you're going to have it the way it is i.e. accept Hawkeye as the last word then you've got to go with whatever it says.

Covers coming off. 63 overs overs were to be bowled today. 27 bowled so far. Now light may also be a problem. Regular closing is 1 hour away (going by last test) and they might not be able to extend much

Biryani has been banned because of rumours that some players (and support staff) were 'targetting' the meat and were not interested in rice, on account of high carbohydrate count.
Those players must be from Gujranwala..

Thats irrelevant

The right decision was made - i can understand why we referred it, it was a good shout and looked out - still we got him a few balls later

I'd rather we bat today to get some runs on the board.

nope. even if he had been given out, the decision would've been overturned, because he was hit outside the line of offstump. once you're hit outside the line of offstump AND you're looking to play a shot, it doesn't matter whether the ball hits the stumps or not. just like if the ball pitches outside leg stump, it doesn't matter if it hits or not, it's always not out.

ALl over for Oz, No chance they can come back not.. Congrats to Pak on finally getting a Victory after 13 loses in a row....

A sight for sore eyes?

No it wouldn't. There was no doubt that it hit him outside the line so if the umpire had given it out and the batsmen appealed then it would have been overturned and given not out.

You obviously don't know Pakistan yet. :)

Wasnt it 11 losses?

Anyhow this is Pakistan - you clearly overestimate us - our batsmen find new ways to undo the good work of the bowlers
