Sami has shown solidity and he's managed a decent score in every previous series he's played in. All he lacks is consistency and needed to be persevered with but typical desi kneejerk panicking meant we dropped a promising 20 year old opener for a flat footed slogger because it's important to be "aggressive".

Dropping Sami is a knee jerk reaction - knew it'll happen. 6 batsmen - 2 scored, 4 failed. Of those 4, 2 are U23, other 2 are over 40 - I knew one of those 2 will be dropped for SCG, to show some "initiative" Babar was lucky that Rizwan failed in NZ, otherwise, Sami would have played for Babar carrying drinks.
 
As expected ATG performing in a dead rubber to maintain his legacy and something for his fans to boast about
 
Only another 159 to go. C'mon Younis. Get that double century and retire at a high!
 
Really hoping Younis gets his 10000 this match so we can finally say goodbye
 
YK is going to get at least 1 hundred in WI, if not more - they don't have the cunning pacers to expose his age, while Azhar, Sami & Babar will make sure that he isn't facing their opening pair inside first 25 overs.
 
Hope Younus uses that let off to score 10k runs here. Looking good and to his credit he does score relatively quickly when he's there.
 
Azhar Ali is 20 runs short to become the highest scoring Pakistani in Australia.

I'm hoping he reaches 10,000 at Sydney and that he and Misbah retire like the days when McGrath/Warne/Langer and Greg Chappell/Marsh/Lillee did.

I used to love Younis. I'd like him to leave on a high. ASAP.

I'm pretty sure Salman Butt made 225 in 2004-5 and 280 in 2009-10, so the record for an opener is 505 isn't it?

And there are other middle order guys with more runs at a Lower average.

Either way, coming up to 400 in a series is better than any of them! Well done!

Even if he scores 10,000 here, be prepared to take him to West Indies.
