Australia v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Sydney | Jan 3-7, 2017 | Day 4

Himmat hai ap log ki keh you are actually watching this match/team.. mein tou apke comments parh ke judge kar raha hoon match mein kya horaha hoga

To be fair to Misbah, he has won the crown from Mohammad Yousuf for Worst Captain Ever To Visit Australia.

When Yasir Shah has a series average of over 70 but opens the bowling with Imran Khan, you know that:

1. The squad didn't have enough fast bowlers (5).

2. The fast bowlers have been bowled into the ground due to the failure to take an all-rounder who can bowl seam - even Aamer Yamin or Hammad Azam.

3. The skipper hasn't understood any of the events in these three matches.

But Misbah has always been an appalling bowling captain. He bowls his quicks and spinners alike for excessively long spells.

1) and 2) aren't Misbah's fault.

I wonder why Misbah didn't open the bowling with Sarfraz at one end and himself at the other? He might as well have.

Because Mohammad Amir is off the field and has gone for a scan, you genius.

Yasir is the last person you want to bowl when the other team are attacking. Mental midget

Aussie pitches are hard. After all these excessively long spells for a month he may well have stress fractures.

You can't play Tests in Australia without enough pace bowling. That's why Mitch Marsh and Hilton Cartwright and Moises Henriques get tried at Number 6.

What I feel is that there had been some real tug of war between Arthur/Rixon vs PAK part of the management regarding the fitness level of the team & Arthur has gone to the bent finger way - he is hell bent to expose the CS who was comfortably the worst example for a pro sportsman. So far 3 bowlers down in space of 2.5 test, that's after losing the premier fast bowler in the middle of an ODI.

All Pakistan team need is an honest, sincere, smart, hard working chief selector with no influence on his decisions from outside sources.
It will not make them number one but much better than this joke of a team.

Are you able to name a person for that role?

The way they are going, they could set them a little under 400 with 30 mins to bat today

Imran Khan, please announce your retirement after that over.

Baffling from Misbah. You know that Warner is trying to hit out. Why such an attacking field for Imran? At least delay the declaration man.

Yeah wth is with this pitched outside rule?

There is a reason cricket is called "the gentleman's game" and spirit of the game is held in high esteem. It is also a game of aesthetics. These are the things that separate cricket from a pure brawny sport like baseball. Till mid 1930s, the only major line that was bowled by a bowler was outside off stump. Bowling on the legs was severely frowned upon as ugly. Making a batsman nick behind was actually seen as the "right" way of getting him out. Was the same case with batting when playing with the bat away from the body or being severely out of shape when playing the shot. There is a reason playing leg side hoicks is called "hacking" while hitting a cover drive is seen as a "magisterial shot". Only after the bodyline series, the short ball came into more widespread use with a leg side field theory and even though the legside field got outlawed, bowling at the body with a short ball became an option for the bowler.

Anyway, if you keep such an lbw rule, everyone will start bowling at the legs with a negative line trying to get an lbw, denigrating the sport and its aesthetics as we know. A batsman can still be adjudged out when pitched legside if he's offering no shot and just padding away, which was an earlier tactic used by batsmen before the new rule change forced them to play at them. But if he has played a shot but missed it, he can't be given out.

Misbah is going to go out on the absolute worst now- just dragged and beaten badly
He's getting an epic phanti here

Never seen such a pathetic bowler like Yasir Shah. Has absolutely no control over his length.

Can Warner return the compliment Misbah gave to his bowlers in UAE? He is actually ahead of the rate.

I acutally think Davey will do pretty well in India as well. Giving us a phainty here so I'm a bit salty..:usman

Unique as well - never seen a Leggi taking 2nd over in a Test in AUS with Kookaburra.
