What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Sydney | Jan 3-7, 2017 | Day 4

Yasir is going to be dropped soon if he keeps bowling like this.

You can blame all the Misbah's in the world, but this guy DOES NOT KNOW how to bowl when he is attacked.

Yasir Shah 10 overs 91 runs

Can't even imagine those figures in ODIs

This is problem with most Indian posters here - why you take every comment on face value? This PAK side has won 2 Tests in ENG 5 months back - point is not that. Point is, in 60s & 70s Indian team was loaded with 6 batsmen & 4 spinners, of the 6 batsmen, 2 were used to take the shine of new ball & at one point that batsman was even Sunil Gavaskar.

I guess you mean one dimension and weren't dynamic enough? That has a lot to do with safe approaches but tbf wasn't test cricket really played in one modes till West Indies faced Lillie and Thomson and then LLyod took it upon himself to change their Windies cricket,we were just following the book i would say and playing to our strengths.

Misbah is hell bent to destroy YS career here in Aus and wants him to retire along with himself

With Amir not there who should he turn to? You dont put part timers in test because you premier bowler is being hit

Not even Ashwin bowled this poorly in Aus. People blame Misbah for negative tactics, but the hard truth is that Yasir can't bowl under pressure.

He's gonna remain a good bowler in the SC but have low expectations everywhere else.

These are some serious mental scars that has been dished to pak.

This is slaughter..

Aussies really know how to fill their boots on road like there is no tomorrow

It is just so frustrating watching this match. Misbah doesn't want to bat out there, nor is he interested in Captaining. There doesn't seem to be any intent or a plan in place for bowlers to bowl to. He is just happy letting Australia score however they wish.

The bowlers haven't bowled any good, but they just haven't been put in any good position to bowl any better either.

This kind of performance is reflection what your captain is thinking - Checked out mate don't waste your time

Fell sorry for everyone including myself

Sarfraz was too slow there, should have been stumped there

This is just poor bowling. Yes the pitch is flat but don't bowl pies to the batsmen

Why are people still watching this horrible team get smashed to pieces. Pathetic selections. Don't regret not watching any of it

That's one part - other part is team composition - unless you are batsman like Ramakant Desai, Abid Ali, Eknath Solkar, Madan Lal or Roger Binney - you won't play for India as a pacer. A similar approach we see from England now regarding spinners. If Imran Khan & Shoila Khan & Rahat Ali is the limit, then I'll say play one of Amir or Wahab & play 2 like Hammad or Yamin & load the side with 3 spinners - the 3rd one being MoHa. From 1 to 9 batsman, who can save a Test, at least try for it.

If Misbah sticks for next round of AUS/SAF Tour - he'll pick a team that has Amir & Yasie at 10 & 11; rest are all-rounders.

some relief for Yasir. if that deflection was any bigger, Safraz would have dropped it.

declaration time almost

I do not understand why Misbah has continued to give him the ball after going for so many...

Usman Khwaja is enjoying free runs on offer - fill your boots mate it's going to dry up soon when you tour India

The thing is that this kind of captaincy rubs off on the entire team. Everyone plays either scared and forget even the basics or everyone just becomes careless about even playing anymore.

It's clear case of given up and and following captain's body language

This team is most close bonded ever, because every senior knows, if Captain stays - 13 or 14 of them will be in Caribbean; including Imran.

This captaincy and performance is going to leave deep scars and lot of rebuilding for whoever takes over the captaincy.
The best man available is Sarfaraz but will be lot of hard work.

Lol true. Absolute mess behind the stumps, has missed so many chances...
maybe i've not seen enough of him but i don't get the appeal. sure he's got fight but for me, can't be trusted with the gloves, can't be trusted with the bat.

Mind you most countries have the same problem. Only after Dhoni retired, we realised how good we had it.

Yasir just needs to either say.. i dont want to bowl anymore or just take over the field settings. What i don't understand is why the heck be defensive when you have just given up 200+ at over 7 runs an over already??? what does that achieve? at least try to take some wickets, even if in the process you give up another 200 at 7 an over.

Aus 29 overs - 212/2

That would be an amazing position to be in for an ODI smh

Dhoni was an ace Wicket-keeper batsman.

Sarfraz's lethargic keeping shows he's been taking his spot for granted. If his performances with both the gloves and bat keep diminishing, then a replacement may be looked into for the red ball format.

I dont think Saha has missed more chances than Dhoni. He is a tad slower in stumpings but a much better catcher against pace. He covers a lot of ground behind the wicket to pacers where Dhoni was lead footed and often didnt even attempt going after a catch. People think Dhoni didnt miss catches because they dont count the ones he did not even attempt

I think Misbah is showing Yasir how his career is being finished in front of his eyes in Australia.

This is ridiculous. Even with this approach, they have only lost 2 wickets !
