Albie Morkel 39 off 17 balls - Match winning knock here!

S.A win and take 1-0 lead.

Thought they had thrown it away with a mini-collapse near the end. Solid batting from middle order has won them the game.

Not bad for a side that has played awful cricket in this match!!! The outfielding was terrible. I suppose 1 can say that the aussies played worse but that would mean that we played better than them!!

The team SA put out there today has a really strange balance to it.
Strange but effective.

More like the teams of old...3 all rounders and 2 specialist bowlers. It'll be much better when smith and de villiers are back in the side batting wise. Those are by far our best 1 day batsmen.

What I meant was, you guys have had no specialist opener, unestablished ODI bowler in M. Morkel and unestablished captain in Botha. Question marks with the ability of Mckenzie as an ODI player, and your best ODI bowler being rested.

South Africa missing: Smith and De Villiers.

Australia missing: Symonds, Warner, Siddle, Johnson, Lee, and Clark. (And Hayden)

Australia did well to be that competitive with a second string attack to be honest.
