What's new

Australia v West Indies | 3rd Test | WACA, Perth | 16 - 20 December 2009

Hussey looks like he's done an Imran Farhat and produced the goods to save his spot for the next few matches. He was dead money about to be dropped I reckon.

Husseys always been a class act and doubts on his ability have been way off the mark!

Yeah , nothing wrong in aussies altering the pitch when some morons in india make roads for all tests!

I know , its a issue only when wickets in subcontinent are flat .

Perth has definitely lost its terror and mystique...nothing there for the quicks, even with the new ball after 80 overs

The curator actually commented on it before the game and said they don't want 3 day Test matches. So we get a road.

And Indian crew, nice try - Aussies collectively hate the Perth pitch these days because it is a road. You guys applaud the road like it is good wicket and try to defend it.

Michael Clarke stupid stupid shot. And Ponting soft. If it's not broken get back out there mate!

Not our fastest pitch anymore, that would be the Gabba. But none are really quick for Tests anymore.

Aus pitches are rubbish too , simple as that .we would like Aus fans to acknowledge that and move on .

Demon quickie vs greatest modern batsman

Ponting taken on Roach bowling at 150km/h was joy to watch....very gutsy innings of his after getting hit on elbow.

Ponting is toughest cricketer and so mentally strong that is why he is better than Lara, Sachin, Kallis and just shades Inzi for best modern batsman.

We need more demon quickies, this is how cricket used to be plays.

supporting windies to hold on to a draw....

1-0 victory for Aus at home would be as bad as a series loss against 8th ranked team!!

Yep our pitches are rubbish. Except for the Gabba. :)

Come on Aussie's

I want to see a century from ponting next innings :) (if he do get to bat) lol

LOL, Hussey gets out to Rampaul, one of the worst bowlers in test cricket.

Well played though.

4/364 our batsman are allergic to making hundreds it seems.

Roach started the series with a Test bowling average of 17, we have given it a nudge along to 30. Good bowler though, we are deliberately targeting him.

Right now he's the one targeting you. Three close ones in the last over, one inside edge which almost hit the stumps and two balls just beat the outside edghe.

Yeah exactly, that's why we are trying to hit him. He has been very unlucky on this tour so far, dropped catches, edges, beating the bat.

On the other hand Ravi Rampaul (who looks like he should be bowling for India with that action and speed) has an average of 80 runs per wicket which I think is pretty fair.

4/372

Haha, Rampaul is West Indies' very own Mohammad Sami. Roach is expensive now...

Haddin on 16 off 8 balls, partnership of 30 from 4 overs.

And Ponting still to bat. We should bat him at 11. :D

Don't think he needs to bat looking at how these two are batting.

I really like the way Haddin bats. Just when the opposition sense an opportunity he comes and counter-attacks them into submission. Almost like Gilchrist...

4/427, run rate nearly 6 an over since Haddin came in.

Actually BraHa is pretty much due to throw his wicket away right about now.....

Anyone who says Ponting plays for records check this out. He declared at 7/520, 7 runs short of the highest ever innings score without a century. Ponting don't care about records. He wants to WIN!

especially when they are not his own!! :D :D

Just saw in cricinfo that johnson pushed off benn???

What happened? anyone saw live action? Benn should be banned I guess? :po:

i don't know what happened live, was just watching the session highlights. Benn was trying to field a ball off his own bowling and Mitchell Johnson from the non-striker's end came in his path going for the run. they tugged and pulled like football players. then Brad Haddin pointed his bat at Benn, which set him off. some things were said. then at the end of the over there was some pushing and shoving. not exactly sure what happened there.

Can we have that spectator who caught Gayle's 2nd six as Pakistan's fielding coach?

If we are going to play these Aussie bowlers then we have hope. The are getting owned left right front and of course back

Imagine how much will Gayle score if he is there till the end of the day.

The coolest Jamaican in the world running wild on the Aussies on the flattest of tracks. Good times.

81 off 56 balls, in the face of a target of 500+ :))) :)))

I'm loving this.

Difficult chance, but Clarke have taken much difficult ones in the past.

Never a dull moment when Chris Gayle is around. Hes just amazing to watch!

Seriously this is the weakest I have ever seen of OZ, WI played full strength with Edwards, Taylor etc they might have even won the last test... I seriously believe Pak can win the series in Oz if Younis comes back to the side...

That is a big if.

Ponting is having a lot of brainfreezes nowadays isn't he???
He should have allowed aussies to score 600+...
Now the leads gonna be erased all too soon!
Time to handover captaincy , Mr Punter?
