I wanted Dravid to get atleast 50 to get some form/confidence back
Ind 54-2 after 34.3 overs

Lunch

Symonds bowl's his first over of Off Spin and trapped Dravid LBW in the last over before lunch

Dravid gone. Now thats what happens against this aussie side if you play so defensivly.
actually it happens against every side. The pressure just builds on the batting side unless the only option is fighting for draw and 2 days is too long. India has two options go for win (yes play sensibly and slow if required) or lose

Did you see the dismissal? If he played the defence off the front foot he'd have been fine. Went off the back foot though as was caught by the bounce. It's not playing defensively that cost him.

Problem is when a palyer plays so slowly it makes opposition come hard at you and the other fact is that your 16 of 114 takes your team nowhere.

Another hard work of Dravid gone waste .I was really hoping Dravid to get a good amount of runs even with a strike rate of 10 .

This is awful batting...
Am really dissapointed with the Indian approach. Wasn't expecting this from such a talented and experienced line up. Indian bats should learn from Hayden and co. Hell even look at Pak's aggressive approach even while fighting for draws against India!

Hopefully Tendulkar and Laxman take India to Tea to keep this match intresting

play resuming

India, the masters of negative cricket. Disappointing stuff so far from all their batsman thus far, barring Tendulkar in the first innings. They really need a Sehwag up the order instead of Jaffer and give him a chance to provide some momentum that India is so desperately missing. Yes Australia have bowled well, but then there have been plenty of bad deliveries that have been wasted.

Tendulkar ct behind off Lee
Ind 77-3
short, short, short and then little wide off ofstump to get the edge. Tendu was looking to attack as he did try to hook a ball before

2 runout referrels against Ganguly in last two overs. He had one in 1st innings too. Showing good sportsmanship for not hurrying it up and taking it to the edge but a Funny guy

VVS looks like hes enjoying the challenge out in middleonce again against the aussies and ganguly is a fighter. India will go down fighting here!

Aussies looking to force ganguly into playing into gulley area here!

could cost 20-30 runs but also get a wicket!

VVS at other end looks like he could play Hogg with a cricket stump in his hand!

Plenty of time for India to win, but I think if we can break this partnership we'll have just about got there. Yuvraj and Dhoni are good batsmen, but I don't see them batting out four sessions.

True, not against Lee, my fav Aussie bowler, and not just because of his (awful) duet with Bollywood's legendary Asha Bhosle.

Laxman gone!

Drives on straight into covers!

Very very stupid!

Hayden streaked? Thank goodness I didn't witness such an horrific scene!
I don't know what Hayden did. The thread about streaking was good and probably the highlight of the match. But I texted the team to do it and Laxman chickened out

Yeah. Lets finish the match today. I gotta watch footbal ( NFL ) match tomorrow night between new england and new york.

Hogg nearly got Dhoni in the same over with Dhoni hitting it just over Hogg's head

Yuvraj goooooooooone, Australia to wrap it up before the end of day's play?
not good if you are paying to watch it on TV.

Hogg misses ct & b of Dhoni
Chak de India

This match is at a critical stage. Its past 11pm here in the US ( east coast ) and i may have to postpone my plans to go to bed for now. I don't want to miss this great fight back by the "GREAT" indian batting lineup.

The run rate was close to 1.5 not long ago and now its close to 2.2. Thats almost 50% improvement. If this is not a great fightback then what is?

somehow I get the feeling the aussies are ok with the mighty 2.2 rr as long as they get regular wickets. That's just me though.

Dumbaka Dhoni gone now! Come Aussies! lets just get this game done by the end of today!

Kumble gone too. Another pillar of the " GREAT " batting lineup gone. How many more pillars do we have left?

Hogg gets another wicket and the wicket is Ganguly who was on 40

9/157

India all out for 161

Australia win the test match by 338 runs

RP Singh chops it back onto his stumps and Johnson pick's up his third wicket

Bhaji had commented yesterday that pitch was just fine and india can win the match. I wonder how many shared his thoughts?

Australia won by 337 runs
Wow!
I guess the Indian batsman are a bit overrated. I mean not even scoring 200 in both innings?

Wow. Thats ruthless. But lets be fair to india. It was their first game on the trot and i am sure they will come back.
Good night all. And thank you " great " batting lineup for not keeping me awake too long.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Yes! Great result! Enjoy your day off Aussies!

Indian bats should be ashamed that with all the experience - they couldn't even muster 200 once..

LoL total annihalation, in the build up to this match they talked so much crap of giving a challenge they cudnt even score 200 once , exciting match , aussies demolished india to say the least

Really shameful .I expected them to score more than what they did in the first innings . :po:

Very well played Australia " Great Team" Congratulations!

Poor performance by Indian Team!

batsmen will get better what do you expect with 0 practice match.

Congratulations Australia. We were outplayed in every department of the game.

India needs to show more grit and discipline. We also need to take the attack to their bowling. No point ar$ing around, tripping about like ladies at a tea party.

Decent performance for the OZ. Unfortunately as I'm in HK at the moment I didn't get to see anything but highlights. Any of you who watched think that Hogster will survive? I'm pretty sure he'll survive for Sydney as there's no way they'll play four quicks there. I heard MJ might get swapped out for Tait.

Any poor decisions? I want to get that sorted out sooner rather than later, so any folk myths do not develop. I don't want Romali coming back a few weeks later with some mythical cause for India's loss. :D

Hoggy should be back; he bowled decently towards the end and batsmen still find it difficult to pick his wrong 'un.

India lost fair and square. As for poor decisions, I did not see any. But then I never do, so someone else may have to answer.

happy days.
good to see the ODI demi-gods like Dhoni and Yuvraj exposed and a billion rupees worth of hype shattered. Yet some of my countrymen will keep talking about "oh-yuvi-hit-6-sixes" or "dhoni-is-the-beast".

these sissies should stick to play backyard 20 over cricket.
ODI stars can never make it in tests - remember how Bevan got found out? Or even Symonds? Yuvi will go down thatsame path.

cant believe how some geezers here actually wanted yuvi to play in the test side- JUST DUZNT HAVE THE MENTAL STRENGTH to play real test cricket.

my changes for 2nd test: replace jaffer (another bed-wetter) with sehwag, replace RP with pathan and get PATHAN-SEHWAG to open the batting. Bhajji will play, given sydney's track.
