Australia vs India | 2nd Test | Perth | Dec 14-18, 2018 | Day 3 Thread

Good innings from yadav here, can't fault him for pant being a brain dead idiot, also Lyon got 5fer and bowled at under 2 an over, kudos to kohli and his big brain.

Australia needs to score 300 and its game...

Aus needs to score just 200+ and it won't be easy for India. If Aus scores 300+ then I think Aus will win it. India is not chasing that with just 3 batsmen.

Need to run through them. 150 all out. Even then it's only 50:50.

Pant batted like an absolute clown, did his best to get India all out asap, however Yadav stood around longer than expected....

Pant is a LOI batsman. He is not Test grade yet.

Ridiculous that he slogs everything to legside when it is tightly pa led with fielders.

Vijay/Rahul are duds and they make our batting very brittle.

So far this year India has failed to chase down

208
287

Based on this I think, India will struggle to chase 250 plus here. means Aussies need to score 225 in this innings.

Kohli with his stupid team selection made it deficult for India,Jadeja with the bat Nd ball would have been handy.

This match is Australia’s to lose. Barring a massive collapse, Aus are win this comfortably this one.

We have no Jadeja in this match, let that sink in. No spinner on this pitch and no cushion with this legendary batting tail. If Shastri holds on to his job any further we deserve only humiliation.

Aus should win this game from here. They were always ahead after winning toss and 43 runs lead should go a long way in winning this game.

Aus just needs to score 150 here and they will win this.

Indian batting is pathetic. Openers are duds and tail is too long.

You still need to give a cushion safety cushion of Kohli's innings, that is why 225 by Aussies is a must. And a target of 250 plus.

150 and kohli wins this for us. The batting is poor but you are discounting what kohli can do.

Aus with 200+ should win it for Aus because India will find it very hard to chase 250+ with 3 batsmen.

Rahul usually comes back better in the second attempt but Vijay is nothing but a shooting duck. However what concerns me is that Shami, Shami seemed a decent tail bat from what I have seen of him previously. However in this series Shami is channelling his inner Ajit Agarkar of 99 India tour of Aus in this series it seems.

Morons didn't learn a thing from the first innings. Why would you give new ball to Bumrah instead of Umesh.

You know what we should do? Let them score 400.

The time they take will burn a lot of overs out of the game.

And when we bat we can hopefully draw.

If we have 275 to win with 1.5 days left that's when things get messy.

That is not how cricket is played , you need to go after wickets and try to get them for 200 here

It could work, but you can't plan for that. Aus is not going to make 400 and if you don't try to bowl them out quickly then India will be looking to chase 360-370 with enough time left.

Last test, Indian tail getting out quickly may have helped to win the game. Aus had a chance so they were not totally blocking. If opposition has no chance then dead block starts.

Very poor fielding seriously how does the fielding coach still have a job

Safe to say India's fast bowlers have out bowled australias in both tests regardless of the result here.

Kohli would be really disappointed with the dropped catch , it would have been a great boost to bowlers

Brace yourselves for 1-1.

Has MCG 2003 written all over this.

It's 1-1

India won't win this one by batting last.

Any chance for rain?India would be happy if they somehow manage to draw this test.kohli wicket clearly put Australia in driver seat nonetheless ATG Knock.Target shouldn't be more than 250 for India to have any chance.

Relax fella. Indian bowlers are all over the Aussies without any luck. Few wickets her and Aussies will collapse in a heap.

You forget that we'll choke chasing anything over 100. Plenty of specimens from this year alone.

Any half decent slip fielder would have gobbled that. On replace we could see Pujara started off way too late. But fiery stuff from Bumrah.

India's batting away from home is quickly becoming a one-man show as well just like it was in the era of Tendulkar of the 90s. This year with its tours of SA/England/Australia (so far), Kohli has scored more than 25% of the team's runs in an innings, about 42% of the time.

Bumrah's bowling average in Australia 21.25, England 25.92 , South Africa 25.21. Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world at the moment

Max IND can allow is 200, which makes the target around 250. I think, this wicket will start to crack after lunch tomorrow. If Aussies can reach 100 for less than 3-4 down, they'll go after the bowling this evening and put some quick runs.

With India, playing effectively 4.5 batsman ( players who can withstand 50 deliveries), they need Aus be all out in 150.

Their openers cant bat, Pant is 50/50, and tail are useless

Very very unlucky not to get 2 or 3 here. Phenomenal fast bowling. Vaughan said "We should make a DVD of Bumrah bowling and show to youngsters". He was that good.

Opening spell by Bumrah & Sharma was fantastic . If only we had a spinner in 11 .
Looks like our target will be in 280-320 range & hosts will win .

Ravi Shastri's golden words after Adelaide match:

To hell with the nets says Shastri

"They have to rest up. To hell with the nets. You just come there, mark your attendance and get away to the hotel," India coach Ravi Shastri said.

Is it any surprise if you look at our performance here? Without removing the tumor Indian cricket isn't going to improve. If Kohli supports this tumor even he needs to be put in his place.

Khawaja is going to suck the life out of this Australian innings and bring India back into the game.

Negative thinking. Bowl them out for 200, chase down 230, go 0-2 up!

Umesh is leaking boundaries and releasing all the pressure built before Tea. He better make up for this with a wicket soon.

Game is quickly slipping away from India.. 200 lead and only miracle can save them. Which means they now only have 100 runs to play with while 10 wickets still remaining.

So umesh doesn't make it past 2 overs in his spell, such a great decision this was.

Stats won't show but Shami and Cummins have been terribly unlucky this match.
