Need to bring bumrah from jadeja's end start peppering cummins with short stuff, lets soften these aussie bowlers for SCG.

This is not the 90's and Indians no longer the timid upper class men.Heck, even the mallu Sreesanth wasn't scared to sledge burly Hayden and Symonds. Now that we have equally good fast bowlers who can hurt you at will, why would Pant be worried? And as somebody with Jatt in username, I don't need to explain you the command of a Delhite in abusing. :sarf2

If only Aussies could understand Hindi. Pant would have been anble to use more creative "banter".

There is still 21 overs left in the day ... and no rain today. Unless it rains for the whole day tomorrow there is no way Australia are drawing or winning this.

Well this is the pair which can bat time. I don't expect them to save the match, but they can make pacers tired if they bat full overs today.
 
Yea, Australia is focusing on tiring the Indian bowlers, while their bowlers rest in the pavilion.

I have doubts about tiredness, Aussies need to bat another 40+ overs just to equal the no of overs India made them bowl in the first innings.

True, but Indians are bowling last here and may bowl first in the next test. Aus should try to take this to 5th day.

But in the same vein, A few well directed short balls and cummins and starc might not make it to the next test.

If I was Indian team, I will simply do that non-stop for few overs.

Injury is stretching a bit i agree but a few blows to the fingers aren't really that unlikely.

I want the next Test Match to be totally washed out or totally flat pitch, so that Aussie aggressive cheaters don't come up with some notorious tricks again to level the series (as they did in 2008)! India should go with 6 batsmen & 2 spinners in that match and make sure they win the series first time in Australia (not that this team or Shastri/Kohli deserved it! But the whole Indian history & past teams deserved this success!)
 
Cummins has a great technique for a number 8.
 
I think Cummins should come at #6 in next match. I got to admit he has better technique than most of Pakistan’s top order. So good!
 
Few balls kept low on day 2 & apart from that the pitch has just been sluggish & slow . Great effort by Indian bowlers picking up 17 wickets for 360 runs so far .

No. I think only 15 minutes original time + 30 additional minutes. But since only 7 overs are left for today's quota, they won't be bowling the full 41 minutes.

Wow that would be nice. Both teams can go and fight it out in Sydney. Only fair enough result as both teams looked equal..
 
Good performance from Australia. They have put up a good show despite being mentally and physically exhausted.

Don't think it will happen, but would be ideal. Take out any chance of weather interfering and also give a days rest.

But I think the real action will begin the new ball becomes available.

What a player Cummins is! Gives everything while bowling and batting. My man of the series right there. I wish Amir develops like this for Pakistan.

Further more, I feel Australia could have won if other batsmen actually supported Cummins here..
 
Indians haven't really applied much pressure on tail here. Body language is too relaxed.
 
It's good to see Cummins' body is holding up better, he seemed to get injured every other game when he was younger, that appears to behind him for the last few years and he's been consistently.

He looks like a proper all rounder to me. He is improving each series. If he continues this way then Aus should bat him higher. He has great balance and technique.

Some posters were laughing when I said Aus should try to keep Indian bowlers out working as long as they can. Aus tail did it's job of tiring Indian bowlers. They need to do some more tomorrow. Who knows with rain anything can happen.

It’s expected to rain overnight but not during play as much if the match does go to tomorrow

For first two sessions forecast is clear
 
Australia top 5 should hang their heads in shame really.

Pat Cummins has absolutely embarassed them

Main thing is to bat as long as possible. I don't expect them to save this test, but it's far better to keep Indians out for 110 overs than 60 overs when the next test is after few days.
