Ideally, Navjot Singh Sidhu should have been first name in that list! ;-)

Ah I remember him running down the wicket and smashing Warne into the cheering crowd.....

Warne did not have a good record against India true - still would have in the team in the second though.

Relax.
I was following up on Cricinfo.
wanted to check up with those who are watching "live" whether there was any doubts on the edge/snick or any other doubts like glove/arm guard....thats all.

He snicked it close to his body, it went into the keepers gloves and then out and caught by slip. Wasn't a regulation catch.

not sure. because India have to really defeat Aussies. a draw is almost out of question now. we got a healthy lead, but by no means heavy..

This pitch does tend to get flatter as the match goes on - there is a lot of time left so not much chance of a draw. India will need to set Australia a massive chase or if Australia bat like they did today 250 will probably do :D

Momentum of this series is with India now.

India have a 170 lead i recon 350 would be match winning and would set up series brilliantly going into last match!

17 in a row not likely to happen.

ozzies looked completely sapped out there ...

wayward bowling and lazy batting ...

somethings got them deflated .. either the oppressive heat or all that controversy from sydney ... w/e their focus seems lacking.

Seems without sledging and nastyness Aussies have lost their intensity!

.

Wrong, they have been outclassed. Brilliant batting/bowling by India!

I expect India to rattle-in another 350 odd runs by kunch on day 4 and put the onus on Aus to get 520 odd in a day and a half if they want to get to the record 17 matches winning streak...wub be interesting to see what ponting would do from then on..

You are very correct,
as some one said ,
"australians have won many matches from this kind of tough situations,
and india has lost many matches from this kind of advantageous position".

Lee/Tait/Johnson/Clark vs RP/Irfan/Ishant... on paper Indian attack pales into insignifance considering this is Perth. Kumble should be proud of his bowlers and batsmen regardless of the outcome. May be not about fielders ;) They were horribly misfielding the ball today.

Magnificent stuff from India, BUT Australia are the only team really that have it in them to come back and win the game, and they are the only team in world cricket who alot of people would back to come back, such is their strength.

Look forward to good cricket for the next 2 days!

Yes ,Aussies can bounce back at any time . We have to bat the whole day tomorrow .

^ Yup,The Indians need to focus on batting out 3 sessions, rather than worry about a final score.

RP Swing showing his class once again in this match. This guy can turn out to be a solid bowler for India. First England, now Aus.

It's only the end of day 2 - plenty of time to go yet. But India's holding all the cards at the moment. This pitch should start to crack sometime tomorrow and Kumble will start to come into play on Day 4. I have a feeling it won't last into the 5th day.

This has been a pretty decent WACA pitch, all told.

6-0 maybe was a little bit cheeky of me....I have to allow for one draw for rain...

ok Ozgod..well beat you 5- 0 .

I hear some noise from the cheap seats playing reruns of material from 2002! Who is it...oh, it's the Saffa fans pumping their team up again. Go swim with the minnows a bit more son, we're only talking about the top two teams in the world here. You lot are a couple of spots from the cutoff. :))

some experts feels the pitch will become flat from the 4th day and in fact become easier for batting. It does not deteriorate like sub continet pitches or even sydney pitch.

looking forward to an exciting next few days.
test cricket at its best- the last test and this too!

Were these the same experts that said that this was going to be one of the bounciest WACA pitches ever?

and its that man RP again..very impressed with this guy...hopefully some of our youngsters can see this guy and also do well..he's the right sort of bowler on english and aussie pitches!!..ishant too looks like an indian asif..almost!

Looking forward to tommorow. India has the advantage at the moment, but if their is one team that can force their way back into the contest, then it's Australia. India should look to bat out all day tommorow.

I hope Sehwag comes into his own.

great performance! but what we really need to work on is bunlding out teams when we have them on the mat.

I hope Sehwag and Sachin get tons here...if we bat all day and if Sehwag makes a big one, we should score 300. That will put aus 470 behind...but we need to play normally.

I have feeling that India will mess it up!

i fear the same thing too.

oh god please please please make sure indians dont mess it up :59:

i don't think we can mess it up from here...even if we lose everything for another 130 that's still another 300 runs lead

hopefully the cr@ppie egoistic aussies will mess it up big time.

looking forward to a full day of indian batting to give you guys a lead of 600 :)

GO India, crush the cr@p aussies

To beat Australia you have to play good cricket right through not just 2 seeions or 3 sessions. Australia is too much used to winning. So they will try to find a way to get out of this.

spot on Jackal ,we have this tendency to get complacent after doing half the work . That exactly happened in the first innings . Messed up a golden opportunity to score 400+.

From their body language this Aussie team looked dejected in the latter part of day 2. The confidence and the perkyness seemd missing and that could make a comeback difficult but Indian batsmen need to keep their focus. One more day of application and they are the stars.

I am expecting Ganguly to make a difference today.

???

this "brilliant bowling by India" was pretty much the same bowling attack that our sh1tty batting ripped apart for 500+ runs in the first innings of the bangalore test !

so i take it by ur logic that our batting is way better than australia's ?

wrong logic.

indian bowlers made better use of the conditions and pitched the ball in the right areas and tempted the aussie batsman into a trap.

Why you are having difficulty in appriciating the indian effort is beyond my understanding.

One innings of 500 in ages is "ripping apart"? Then Aussie attack with McGrath and Warne were the crappiest ever because a depleted Eng batting scored more than 400 against them for a few times

Not in a million years. Australia conceded first innings lead 3 times in 3 tests and ended up winning all 3 in SL. This is their own den. It is a blasphemy for anyone even to think especially subcontinent team beat Australia at Perth. So Australia is well with in the chance to record their 17th win in a row.

India has to play hard all 5 days. It let opportunity slip couple of times in last 4 tests.
