There is a big philosophical question here.

We all accept the principle of playing different players in different conditions. I would always want a second and third spinner in Asia whom I wouldn’t pick in South Africa.

A guy like Amir has done well in his last fifteen Tests in England, Ireland and South Africa but is too short and too slow to be worth picking in the UAE.

Why force him to be available in conditions in which he can’t succeed?

I’d rather have Wasim Khan sit down with Amir and Yasir and offer Amir a contract involving Outside Asia Tests only and offer Yasir one for Inside Asia Tests only.

But stop all this National Duty nonsense. It’s like insisting that the Navy send its submarines to fight in the desert!

Do you realise how many own goals you have scored with just this one post.

You have consistently banged on about the need for right arm fast bowlers who are 145+ or atleast 6'3" inches to succeed in Australia . Aamir post ban averages around 134 kph in tests and maxes out at 145 kph. He is deadly when he gets that 0.75 degrees of swing when batting average s start to drop but without swing it's his bowling that suffers. By your own admission he is too short.

And boss, early this year you called that lineup the worst SA batting lineup of all time and then squarely blamed Trevor bayliss for England's woeful test batting in recent times and yet you are advocating the inclusion of a guy who , in bowler friendly conditions , did strictly OK against both these lineups and no longer had the heart for test cricket. You want him to play against Smith, Warner and Labuchangemyname in the least swing friendly country in the world?

PCB already bent over backwards and didn't play Aamir in the entire UAE home season last year and brought him back for SA tour. What do you want them to do? Sign a contract with Aamir to play tests only with dukes ball or in specific venues like Gabba and Hobart while resting him for MCG, SCG and Adelaide . No board , not even PCB, are stupid enough to do that and rightfully so.
