Well clearly these 'pretty averages and strike rates' are contributing because excluding this series, SA have won 6 of their last 7 ODI series (funnily enough they whitewashed India and the series they did lose was to Pakistan).

I don't really need to mention their exemplary test record, have only lost 1 test series (to Australia) in their last 17. Do Indians ever praise any other team?

I agree WC would be different ball game, ICC needs to get in some Tri Series , more meaningful games .
