Australian cricketers are no longer friends, says Virat Kohli

Pity it doesn't contain the recent incident. I guess that'll be in the next volume.

And then there is this masterpiece:

Who is Unmukt Chand ?? Is he a domestic Indian cricketer?

Lol never knew Unmukt Chand had a book...He was once hailed as sure shot for Indian middle order. Nowhere to be seen now. He should have concentrated on improving his game and performing in FC games instead of gloating on his WC win and publishing a book on it.

Adam Gilchrist warns Australia cricket team against sledging Virat Kohli

India have quality batsmen and bowlers in the team but need to be mentally stronger to win a Test series abroad, Australian great Adam Gilchrist seemed to suggest on Sunday.

India have lost the ODI series and are battling to save the fifth match of the Test series, in which they have already conceded an unassailable lead.

“It is challenging playing overseas. I do believe India have a strong bowling unit and some quality batsmen, including the best batsmen in the world, Virat Kohli. They have the potential to win overseas, perhaps it is just mind more than the body,” he said in an interaction in Bengaluru.

Gilchrist made these remarks when he was asked to comment on India’s performance against England in the ongoing Test series. He was attending an event conducted by global sportswear brand Puma.

Asked about Kohli’s captaincy in the ongoing Test series against England, Gilchrist said he would not make any comment but admired the Indian captain’s positive attitude.

“What I admire about Virat’s captaincy is his tenacity and the way he drags his team with him just by being positive. Tactically, I cannot comment because I have not watched enough content, except the highlights,” he said.

Gilchrist also said he admires Kohli’s aggression, though some people say he goes overboard sometimes.

“Virat is that guy who is passionate about leading his team and the nation forward. I see positive things about his captaincy and leadership,” he said.

Asked about Kohli’s soured relationship with Australian spectators, Gilchrist said the Indian captain has matured since the last tour where they went under the skin of the Indian players, especially Kohli.

“The Aussie crowd always want to go under the skin of opposition players. Virat has matured to a great deal since that last tour,” he said.

India is touring Australia between November and January next, where they will play four Test matches, three T20s and as many ODIs.

Perhaps, it would not be advisable for Australians to upset him because it may boomerang against them as he is world’s best batsmen at the moment, Gilchrist said.

“He (Kohli) looks to me a guy who likes challenges when the chips are down. Perhaps, we don’t want to upset him because he is the best player in the world,” he said.

From Australia’s point of view, they do not want him to score heavily as he is currently doing in England, Gilchrist added.

Asked about ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England, Gilchrist said the hosts, Australia, India and Pakistan, are potential teams to reach semifinals.

“England has one of the strongest white ball team. They will be playing in home conditions. Australia too also have good chance, and India has won a tournament there before. And, Pakistan are always the dark horse. they can spring a surprise or two,” he said.

Not suprised to see that this thread didn't get a single bump when Smith was exposed for being a regular cheat in SA earlier this year.

I lot of people called Kohli many names for coming down hard on Australia for DRSgate.

And now having to eat humble pie.

Here we find a peculiar creature. One who tries to console himself from Team C cheating when his team, Team A, lost to Team B 4-1.

It has nothing to do with the England series. If you have trouble reading English I will post my reason again for your benefit.

"I lot of people called Kohli many names for coming down hard on Australia for DRSgate."

It's that simple, buddy.

Many posters here were quick to question Kohli's character based on the comment he made about not being friends with the Aussies anymore. And then when Kohli was proved right, none of the posters who called our Kohli had the courage to say that they made a mistake by wrongly questioning his character.

Understood? Or do you need to gloat about the English tour a little more?

Where was Kohli proved right? Did Kohli say that Smith tampered with the ball? No, he accused them with a lie about DRS

Kohli said Smith and Australia were regularly cheating with DRS.

And with sandpaper-gate it was proved that Australia have a culture of cheating.

That is as damning proof as one can get.

Why are you intentionally playing dumb?
Do you hate Kohli so much that you would rather make yourself look bad than give him any credit?

Ridiculous.

Smith tampering does not vindicate Kohli's lies about DRS. It does not prove anything.

It would be like me claiming that Kohli swearing means he's also responsible for a murder.

Lies about DRS? LOL :))

The umpire caught Smith dude! It was on live television!

Smith was caught red handed in both cases - DRS as well as tampering.

How long do you plan to embarrass yourself? You're only making yourself seem daft in an effort to discredit Kohli. Do you even realise it? :))

And your logic about the swearing and murder goes to show why you are having such a hard time understanding something so simple. From now on, less of PP and more homework for you, young man. :))

He was never caught. That's a lie spread by Indian media.

Smith had turned to walk.

Kohli charged him to create controversy because he's a loud mouthed ignorant

Lol. Dude you could have at least Googled it before making yourself look so bad here.

Smith openly accepted that he was looking to the dressing room for DRS.

He never even denied it.

Seriously man. At least do some research before coming here. :))

That's not cheating

That's not cheating

Yes it is. It says so in the ICC rule book.

Seriously, bro. Do your research. I'm not wasting any more time on this

If you're so ignorant about the topic why did you even bother getting involved in the discussion?

He did not cheat. There is no proof of it. He looked towards the dressing room, he admitted that, as he turned to walk

There is also a video of the whole incident in this article. Please feel free to have a look at it and then come to your own conclusions.

I am done with this discussion.

Is ego bigger than friendships and pyar mohobbat?

It's about time Glenn Maxwell bites his eho and asks forgiveness from Kohli to earn his friendship back.

Look at the response Henriques gave after Jadeja incident. Then go through the response Kohli gave after Smith incident. In both cases match referee dismissed the concerns. Tell you all about this gutter chap person who fakes humility and is emotionally damaged

Ok. Cool. Smith and Warner are true role models.
Kohli just needs to learn how to apply sandpaper secretly now.
Smith Warner didn't do it. Bancroft did. Kohli removed a gentleman like Kumble. See his foul mouthed comments to Rubel Hossain in 2011 WC when Kohli was nothing player. Disrespecting Mitchell Johnson in press conference. And the list goes on . Just that it's not well covered by media

Lmao Smith and Warner encouraged them to do it. They instigated Bancroft to do so.

Smith and Warner cried like little pansies because they knew what was concocted by their dirty fake scummy cheating bunch of fraudulent management and team.

And they apologized and faced the consequences. Kohli is a bully and needs to be called out more often. I don't like the disrespect he keeps dishing everyone. People mistake that hooliganism he does on field in front of opposing players as passion.

I don't think he means malice. He likes to thrive off opposition team trying to goad him. He needs to be provokes to bring the best out of him.

Warner does the same. He wants you to get under his skin so that he can use it to his advantage. Same as Kohli. That's why Aussies refrain from sledging him.

I do agree he does a lot of weird gestures. However lot of it Is just to pump him up. In real life he is quite humble.

Smith did not encourage Bancroft to do it. He was a useless, ineffectual captain that did nothing to stop it but to say Smith encouraged him is a lie; that was what Warner did

They are both culprits and both are lucky to be still playing.
Anyway even if did all these things I would want him to play because he is one of the best ever. Not Warner. Smith obviously. Warner is the best home bully of all time though

They are both culprits that is for sure, but your previous statement was blatantly inaccurate
Regarding the 'lucky to still be playing', players like Du Plessis, Dravid, Shoaib and Atherton escaped serious punishment
