Babar Azam 143* as Pakistan reach 342/3 (lead by 109) at Stumps on Day 2 against Bangladesh

Babar is such a smart batter. Rubel is getting the ball to tail in but Babar is not bringing his front leg infront of the stumps. He is just delaying his trigger movement a bit.
 
Shan Masood has been one of the most compact players i have seen in recent history ... i think his confidence of playing in home conditions will help him score runs oversees as well where, in SA and Aus, he was good but just good not great
 
Shan has played well but he has had his share of poking outside off , not as compact as some are suggesting.
 
Babar Itching to get the strike against Rubel. He wants to cash in on the chance to score one boundary per over. Shafiq on the other hand has all the time in the world, so he is slowing down the procedings.
 
i would drop asad shafiq and azhar both n bring in either of Iffti Chacha, Fawad Alam , Imam ul Haq

Asad Shafiq really needs to go.. he is pure garbage...
 
A bit too much of a casual approach by Shafiq, he is batting with a man set and scoring at a strike rate of 70+, this isnt the UAE so he cant be taking away too much of the strike from Babar.

He is doing right thing there is plenty of time left
 
Just 100 is not enough for Tests especially if you’re he opener. Should score a big 100

If Babar gets as many tests in Pakistan as players from big 3 get he can pile up big amount of runs and that too at a really high average. He has scored 3 100s in the 3 matches he has played in Pak and was not out in previous two 100s.
 
Babar, we had high hopes for him and he’s delivering. MashaAllah class batsmen. Guys what’s the pindi crowd like? I’m only following the match on cricbuzz at the moment

Yea I was laughing at that 360 comment. It's a common mistake most desis make but should expect better from Rameez or may be not.

Probably the best test crowd we've had so far. Seems fairly packed for a test match in Pakistan.

Nice! That’s what I like to hear! Guys from Karachi, how come the Karachi crowd is not as lively???
 
Hopefully Rizwan and Haris get big scores. Don't see Misbah making more than 1 change in this batting line up for the England series. Probably Haris and Shan are under pressure. Now Shan has scored all eyes are on Haris. We know Misbah doesn't like changing too much. So this will probably be the line up for the England tests. Hopefully Yasir is dropped though.
 
Looks like another innings defeat looming for BD. Its becoming a norm as far as BD cricket is concerned...rarely matches involving them goes for 4 innings. This is after Azhar Ali gifted them by allowing them to bat first. BD test team needs a total overhaul.
 
Pakistan scoring 300 inside 80 overs. This may have happened after 15 years or so

Babar played under 19 crickets 3-4 years back (Ramiz)

Pakistan should aim for 500+ and bat as much as possible. Should look towards defeating bangladesh by an innings.
 
Pakistan in a commanding position here. They should look to increase the lead by many.

I think Bangladesh should voluntarily give their WTC spot to Afghanistan. This is embarrassing.

After so many years in Test cricket, they still can't get the basics right.
 
Bangladesh will never be decent test team unless they produce one good fast bowler

I've always liked Rubel. He is a very intelligent bowler and that average doesn't do him justice.
Having said that he is bowling absolute rubbish today. Along with the rest of the bowlers. I can understand they are lacking in speed but they can still bowl well without speed. Refer to Abbas

Rubel is an alright (alright by BD standard) LOI bowler but he has no business playing Test. It is unfortunate that he is the best we got currently.
 
Pakistan used part-time bowler Haris and he got 2 wickets.

Mahmudullah needs to try some part-time bowlers. He is not a very good captain. He can't think out of the box.
 
Bad bowling, bad fielding and bad captaincy. That about sums up the day for BD.
They can be a better team if they get their act together. Let's hope they think and learn from today's effort on the field.

Why? Saleem Malik and Zahir Abbas were super talented. Misbah overcame his limitations through cricketing nous and mental strength and definitely earned all his runs.
