Babar Azam's inexplicable inability to play quality spin bowling

He has been Shadab's bunny in this tourney also remember lyon troubling him in Australia.The boy is talented but needs to adresss his spin issues as he will play most of his cricket in spin friendly countries.

He is fine against spin. Absolutely no weakness. When a batsman starts performing well, people begin to pinpoint trivial things Just because they expect him to be perfect in every innings. Nobody talked about how he dominated narine when he scored those 3 100s. A couple of dismissals against a particular kind of bowling and everbody loses their mind. "Oh he cant play the bouncer, he cant play spin, he cant Speak English".

agree, people are going OTT about the criticisms of babar, im confident he will get better.

In t20s as of now he isnt the ideal player, but we have to remember the next t20 wc is in 2020 (the one in 2018 has been mooted but not confirmed) so he has plenty of time.

Hyperbolic thread, but he needs improve his front foot stride against both pace and swing. Can get caught at the crease at times, and it makes him an LBW candidate.

the problem is, he doesn't hit the sweep shots and stays within the crease instead of taking 1 or 2 steps forward to minimize the effect of spin. Has got a lot of potential to improve since everyone, specially Mickey, is backing him.

Babar Azam v Spin

I'll start by saying I rate him highly as a batsman. However, it seems an appropriate time to bump this thread again. Yet again we have seen him struggle against spin (this time in the CPL). It seems other teams have picked up on this and bring spin onto the attack pretty quickly once he comes in.

Given pakistani batsman grow up on a diet of spin, why is Babar struggling so much? What does he need to do to improve against spin?

Needs to develop an effective sweep shot against the spinners. Also has issues picking the variations from leg spinners, tries to read it off the pitch which is never going to work.
