What's new

Bangladesh [170/7] defeat India [177] by 3 wickets to win the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup

No need to get so sassy.

The match isn’t even over yet.

You have a history of choking. Let’s see if you can keep up with your tradition or not

Well who said Bangladesh already won lol. 170 is a lot of run at u19 level.

Indian pace bowling is atleast a yard quicker on an average. They generate a lot bounce. But they are not that disciplined. that is their problem.

Bunch of young kids having fun and some sour losers are having issues. Get a life.
Half this site went on about Hasan Ali's celebration and you're getting triggered that the site doesn't like a bowler giving a batsmen who was nearing a century and is most likely the best player of this crop of U19 cricketers a send off? :))

Most players barring jaiswal are not ready. Over-hyping won't do any good to them.

I don't think anybody was overhyped. I only knew about Jaiswal and Tyagi. I learnt about Bishnoi later. Others are not hyped. They won't even make it to first class team

Have you ever seen Ronaldo or footballers celebrate?

I think this is a score that should be chased down by BD. I would be disappointed if they can't chase this.

How would the Indian team look with Shaw, Agarwal, Kohli, Rohit, Gill, Rahul and Jaiswal lol?

Seem too top heavy and a lot of them don't have the gears to bat below 3 and Rohit is an opener (he has the gears).

lol Indian fans at the stadium who will maybe fail the BJP's NRC test look so depressed.

Think this gonna get very close. Not easy to freely score.

BD to choke :cobra

Ok, I haven't seen anyone playing live. Today I tuned in and was quite disappointed. Hoped at least 3-4 batsmen will be big hitting or in the same class as jaiswal. Now have to see the bowlers fare, never saw any one in action.

Batting first seems to very difficult in this tournament. Pakistan made similar score against India.

But India have good bowling so they will probably defend this, though I really hope BD can win this one. Would be great for their future in int. cricket.

Looks like BD bowlers riling Indians up. Indians are very aggressive when they are on the field. You will see some fun reactions in the later half.

Rahul bats at 5 now.Gill if given a go can adjust too

Yes batting first is tough. especially first 15 to 20 overs

Gill doesn't seem to have the gears for that.

He's Kohli's heir at 3, I would have him at 4 for now but what does that mean for Iyer?

Rahul may be scoring runs at 5, but I don't see that as a long term solution and it will be questioned once he starts failing there.

Rokibul and Shoriful should join BD national team after this tournament. Great prospects.

All BD batter's have to do is follow Jaiswal batting. There are no demon in this pitch now. They have to be just patient and target other bowlers and let go tyagi and bishoni overs.

one of the better bowling performances of this tournament.

well done to BD

I think it is still a 50/50 contest given India's bowling attack. Also the occasion might play on the nerves of the Bangladesh batsmen. Will be a real test of character for these young Bangladeshi batsmen.

At 4-5 ,your primary role is to rotate strike and stabilise innings and Gill can do that.Power will come as he gets stronger

Iyer doesn't look a long term option for me.

Rahul needs to be backed at 5 if he has the gloves.Has the game for it.

Top order batting seems way easier than MO.

Seems like the air has gone out of you already. Where is your usual arrogance? I am sure it will come out if BD wins, and we will see you in every thread on this forum.

India have a damn good bowling attack and 178 can be tricky. It would've been easier against other teams though.

All the best to BD.

I was saying Bangladesh should win for good of cricket. It will give immense self belief to them. Now they might do it but still only half the battle won !

IAJ if they were good enough, they would already be playing for their international teams.

Jaiswal by accounts is the best player in the tournament and he would struggle to make the Indian squad currently.

Bangladesh may have a couple join them, but realistically they would probably not hold up yet. Maybe a couple of seasons of domestic cricket would help them and then they could offer something at 21-22.

In a whole, this tournament was pretty sh*t due to the weather and one-sided games.

A lot of the stuff the kids bowl at this level doesn't get punished, at international level there is no mercy.

That's why you've got to show a lot to prove that you can be a star bowler at the international level.

International batsmen are really unforgiving nowadays, if you er in line, the ball lands in the stands.

Bangladesh had only one world class talent coming from U19 setup and that was Mustafizur and even he is a dud these days.

Afghanistan has produced more world class talents like Rashid, Qais Ahmed and Mujeeb.

India u19 can beat many international teams.

Even Rabada got bashed on his international debut by Gayle and these bowlers don't really look better than him.

Who have been the best bowling prospects?

I've only heard of Tygai and that WI bowler who was big and troubled Aus and us. Forgot his name but he had quite a bit of hype.

Yes, and only 1 or 2 will be good enough, but even they will take some grooming as the level is obviously much higher and tougher.

India's case is a bit different, they have too many good players to select from so many many good players will never get chance to represent the country.

Nyeem Young? I heard Coetzee is good but he's been playing domestic cricket for a while. That Afghanistan mankad artist looked good as well.

Man I think all our bowlers were bowling 120kph. So disappointing... can't see them making the jump if they're bowling that pace. What did Pakistan find from this tournament?

Really. NZ bowlers looked bang average. Don't see them making the international team any time soon.

Yeah, there were a couple of promising batsmen though and Clarke looks like a decent all rounder prospect.

Pretty bowling from BD especially Shoriful but at the same time some ordinary cricket from India in the first half of the match.

Its U19 level and its all part and parcel of development as cricketers.

I heard that Indian spinner in NZ team was good. I don't remember his name that leg spinner

Pakistan found only disappointment. We thought Rohail Nazir was ready for international cricket but he is far from finished product.

Get the score under 100 to win with 8 wickets in hand and BD will win

Well done to BD. I want us to win of course, but won't be at all put out if we lose to this BD team.

Ashok?

Didn't see much of him, but he had some hype. Him and Ollie White who is the son of NZC CEO. Had a pretty disappointing tournament and was a PPer here who played against him in grade cricket.

Ravindra is another Indian origin player who could be playing for NZ soon, he played in the last U19 WC and has been scoring runs in domestic cricket.

I remember seeing Rabada in the U19 WC and knowing he was going to be a star.

Don't think I've seen a player of that caliber since then.

Our men are rpetty meh. Can the boys win it or will they be blah too...

Can someone who saw Rabada bowl in the U19 WC and has followed Jaisawl this WC, how do they compare potential wise from the tournament. Is Jaisawl a sure fire superstar like Rabada was?

From what I can remember of all editions I have seen I had a feeling Babar Azam and Hetmyer will be good.

I forgot Gill, he was great too in the previous U19 WC. Looked like a superstar in the making, think he had even bigger hype that Jaiswal.

Jaiswal will be better in longer formats, the way he bats,

Fastest bowler of the tournament dispatched for 13 off his first over.
