Bangladesh Premier League 2016 | Pakistan Players Performance Watch

I don't have a problem with any of our players playing in any of these leagues but I think pcb shouldn't have allowed some of these players such as Ahmad shazhad and umar akmal to skip the QEA trophy to play Bpl.

They're already out of the team and skipping important first class matches is not going to help them improve.
You are absolutely spot on here!! But pcb may don't have enough guts or control over it's players! may be!!!
Once Shakib was stopped by the BCB to play CPL though just after the CPL BD toured WI! Shakib place in team was never in question & he might had a crucial experience before tour but for disciplinary reason they stopped him & he was bound to honor the BCB's decision!!
May be it's impossible for PCB!!!

I think boards shouldn't intervene here.

Many of your cricketers don't even get picked in the PSL not because they aren't good but because of so few teams. In BPL atleast they are in the squad and are in rigorous training.

Playing in a foreign league gives you the extra drive you need. You have to work hard in the nets and the gym, and perform in every match you are given.

100% agree.... why should we stop them from a league which is far better than domestic tournament,,,i am personally excited about asghar and junaid this time and watching matches for them.....shahzaib hassan is the 3rd one but unfortunately ha has been benched..

Overall the performance of the foreign players is pretty average and teams are winning based on performance of local boys. The quality of recruitment is not good.Apart from Umar Akmal and Imad Wasim from Pakistan and D. Bravo and D. Smith from West Indies i don't see any big players.Sangakkara, Jayawardena and Afridi are past their glory time and they won't be picked for IPL,BBL any more.

junaid is doing well???? i think he has surpassed expectations...their team is deefnding low total due to his upfront good bowling with shafilu and co??

I agree with Mainul. Malan, Bravo, Junaid, Nabi are doing fine, but the rest have struggled.

In a sense its great to see Bangladesh dominance in our league. It has been primarily performance from local players which has dictated the tournament so far. In BPL 1 I remember that there was hardly any performance from the local players. 90% of MOMs would got to the foreigners. Our players would just look up.

Now it has changed. Obviously, we aren't attracting too many big names like KP, Watto, Baz, but still a decent crop of foreigers. Say Pakistan for example. Afridi, Imad, Junaid, Tanvir are decent players. From the test team perhaps Sharjeel and Amir are big players and BPL would have loved their services. But yet, we haven't seen that kind of domination from Pakistanis which was evident before. True Pakistan don't have that level of exciting T20 talents but from a BD point of view its good to see the league isn't being dictated by WI and Pak players.

That in a sense is good for the foreigners as well. It means they have to perform better to standout.

Yes, Junaid is bowling well and his bowling looks better than Wahab. If he continues like this he deserves a Pakistan call up.

Actually i am also happy to see the performance of local boys surpassing the performance of foreign players. And it means in next edition the team owners will spend more money to attract better foreign players. Thus the standard of the tournament will go higher and higher with time.

In this edition of BPL the mindset of Bangladeshi players looks different and better. They no more are afraid of chasing even 190 plus score.Nobody could expect a Chris Gayle like hundred from a local player in previous editions which Sabbir Rahman has already done in this edition (122 from just 61 deliveries). And pleasing to see that Bangladesh national team players are in form and leading from front.

Imran Khan taking 1 wicket for 23 today

Shahid Afridi c Munaweera b Perera 22 (19m 10b 1x4 2x6) SR: 220.00

Umar Akmal in the middle now 21* (11)

Bowling very well - batting, not impressed.

Agree, i think his bowling will be the better of the 2 especially as he's not getting any younger. Although his batting has declined and reflexes not how they once were, bowling on the other hand is different in this regard he can sustain it as as long as his skill is there

And he was 3rd one to go at 16.2 overs!!! A lot wickets was in hand but he scored 52 (46) @ of just over hundred!!!!

Let me put that into perspective. The opposition has scored 24 runs 2 overs already.

52 from 45 on a difficult wicket with team collapsing is acceptable. But his was the 3rd wicket to fall in the 17th over so no excuse of collapse. And pitch reasonably flat.

Infact, Samuels didn't do any better, infact even worse - 52 from 46.

Wasnt Nasir Jamshed selected for Rangpur? I haven't seen a single scorecard in which he has played? any news on Nasir?

No way!!! He won't get any game for sure!!! Shazad,Afridi, Dawson, Anwar Ali! MILLER & WATSON is coming to join Rangpur Riders!!!

Pakistan bowlers lighting up the league :afridi

the batsman however have dissapointed

Rangpur Riders will be winning this easily, They are the strongest team. Disappointed with Chittagong. Chittagong should rope in Ben Stokes next tournament.

I wonder why people pay umar akmal. With him team is always playing with 10 men in most of the games. If I am the owner I would never sniff around of taking Umar, Shehzad or maxi. All are match winner - no doubt but that 1 in 50, 100 or 20 match. for the rest 49, 99 or 19 match, their contribution would be close to 0.5% of team effort
