Hi All:

This is my first post here but I have been an avid follower of this forum. I enjoy all the latest and greatest material posted here. Today I write to you to ask for bat recommendation.

I am looking for a bat with a very low but large middle. My budget is $150 and I am not looking for the finest English willow. I am considering these bats:

1. CA PLUS Extra Power
2. MIDS MM-Power
3. AS V10

Based on your own experience, please rank these bat on having a lower middle and overall performance.

Thanks,
-CIL

Welcome to PP, CIL! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hmm from those three bats I would say CA Plus Extra Power would be best, it has a large profile.

I haven't seen MIDS MM.

While AS V10 doesn't have as large profile as CA Plus Extra Power.

Thanks for the response "Cover Drive". CA PLUS Extra Power was on top my list as well. I was hoping for more endorsements from this forum. How is the sweet spot of the CA PLUS 12000 LIMITED EDITION TRD compared to the CA PLUS Extra Power? Is it lower and larger or about the same and just better balance and willow?

There is a review of Extra Power on this forum and I think Extra power has lower sweetspot compared to TRD which is a bit middish but long.

TRD does hav ebetter balance and willow

A wise man told me if the product/deal is too good to be true then chances are, its not.

My advice with the bats if its at all possible, is to go to a shop that has these bats and pick them up with your own hands to see if feels right. Picking all 3 up and having some practice shots with them will give you the best idea on what you like. As you may buy a particular bat online and not be happy with it. Or if its still cheaper online find which bat you like most and then go home and order it online. I realise this may not be possible as you may live far away from a cricket shop as I do but I fortunate enough to be able to drive to my capital city to check out all the gear.

All good advice. I knew this deal was too good to be true and that is why I posted on this forum. Unfortunately, there aren't many cricket equipment shops in US, only in major cities like New York. I have gotten pretty good price quotes directly from CA factory but they charge too much for shipping. I guess I will have to wait for some one to travel from Pakistan to get the CA TRD or Extra Power bat. Online store in US charge $380+ for the TRD while the factory quoted me $265. I just cannot pay $115 more when I know what it actually costs, that too directly from factory. In the meantime I will continue using my new SS Ton Limited Edition I purchased in the beginning of season. I will soon share some pictures of the bat in the forum.

I understand and see where you are coming from.

However, I would say that if you get directly from like of CA or retailers in Pakistan like SialkotShop then you can still get the bat cheaper than what it is going for in US.

as soon as the sellers hear "DOLLARS" and "OVerseas buyer" the eyes light up and they add a zero to the end of the actual price!!

:pissed:

Wherea are you from?

All:

Someone is coming from Pakistan and they can bring the bat for me. So can you suggest a shop where they can buy a genuine CA bat for good price in Karachi?

Also, it would be really helpful if you can give me an idea of the prices to expect for these two bats:
1. CA PLUS 12000 Limited Edition TRD
2. CA PLUS EXTRA POWER (is this a grade 2 bat?)

Thanks a lot!

In Karachi buy from UT Sports.

TRD I think goes for something around Rs. 22,000

xkalibur80 bhai would be best person to tell about the prices, he knows a lot about UT :D

Yes, CA Extra Power indeed is Grade 2 Willow.

But TRD is amazing stick, you can't go wrong with it to be honest.

I will most likely shell the money out and get a TRD. I am just a little concerned about the middle being high on the TRD.

Yaar that is irrelevant, seriously it is not high. As I said pitches here are low and I have seen people playing well with high middle bats, one guy would smack flat sixes off TRD in my team!
