BCCI loses vote in ICC revenue and constitutional changes

Is BCCI going to take ICC to the same court that PCB will be suing BCCI? Wonder if the two cases will have consecutive dockets...

BCCI has a detailed binding contract with ICC, does Pak have one? The best they have is an MOU.

I'm sure you will step right and give a proper answer.

Again - you're not answering the question.

Is the BCCI boycotting ICC events or not?

what is the difference between murder and death penalty? that is the difference between boycott and withdrawal thro' a contract.

I'm sure this will go over your head.

Because the answer doesn't suit your narrative?

Here - I'll help you. Here is the text book definition of "boycott". You can even google "boycott definition" and see what you get:

So now - are BCCI boycotting the ICC events or not?

To be honest the fact that you cant answer the question says it all - but it's just fun to see you get yourself tangled up in awkward situations which expose you and your blatantly BCCI biased opinions :yk

his answer fits the facts

Why don't you answer the following questions.

1) do you know what the MPA is?

2) What are the legal ramifications to an organization like ICC for breaking the MPA?

3) is the change in constitution in the middle of an contract period a violation of the MPA.

Smart money says you dodge these questions

Obviously a Pakistani fan won't buy it but every real Indian fan knows that IPL can put ICC out of business.

BCCI is playing the CT out of the goodness of their heart not because they backed down or needed the ICC.

I'm Indian and you are either a Pakistani troll or a brainless Indian.

:)))

You sure $500+ mil, legal ramifications and possible isolation doesn't have anything to do with it?

ICC Champions Trophy boycott could cost India over $500 million, say BCCI bosses

Tricky invoking MPA

However, a top board official told HT, “It is not that easy to exercise MPA. Assuming BCCI pulls out and the ICC goes ahead without India, it will hurt a lot because India are due to host two events --- Champions Trophy in 2021 and the World Cup in 2023. We’ve already hosted the 2016 World T20 in this cycle and we’ll be foregoing a windfall.”

The ICC events are lucrative as the world body organises them and the hosts also get the hosting fees. As per estimates, India could lose around $100million in hosting fees if it exercises the MPA. The 2021 Champions Trophy and 2023 ICC World Cup will, in that case, go to others.

“That apart, we stand to lose $293 million as well as the $100 million on offer that we are already getting as members’ share as per the new constitution,” the official said.

Losing prize money too

All this adds up to almost $500 million. Add to that the prize money from various ICC events from a total pool of $65 million, in case India win or finish among the top teams, it could lose well over $500 million that it should be getting. The current cycle is from 2015-2023.

What is also of concern is the legal issues that will arise after a pullout, or if the ICC decides to slap a fine. “The ICC may go ahead with legal proceedings and the cost and heavy penalty and compensation, if India loses, will have to be borne by the Indian board.”

Also can't see any of the BCCI cheerleaders mentioning anything about the actual cricketers. You think they don't want to play and win a WC for instance? And will be happy playing IPL all year long. Puhlease!

Disappointed with the BCCI + COA. Happy with my decision not to sell the Champions trophy tickets though :-d

Cricketers want to play and win for india. They are not like some of our keyboard warriors who want to teach a lesson to anyone who doesn't agree with their opinion.

Decision taken already by BCCI; team going

This is only a short term fix. The economic fundamentals of the game dictate only one possible long term outcome. India has to take control of the money being produced by the game in India. It makes no sense allowing countries making small contributions dictate to India where Indian money should go.

That means we have to play ourselves (Ranji Trophy, Deodhar, IPL and etc). And that can't last long due to lack of interest for prolonged "domestic tournaments".

No, we proceed to the NBA model for basketball. As India is where the money is, the best players from all over the world will come to India to play. The WI players have already dumped WICB, expect other players to do so over time. First in line after the WI will be SA.

Again, will Indian players ditch their country and play in county cricket for money ? Especially if they are international material ? How do you expect Steve Smith and Joe Root to ditch their country and come play in Indian tournaments ? At best we'll have WI players. We need to stop thinking we are the only patriotic people when we are probably one of the least patriotic people; only fake patriotism exists among us.

If you are generating 70% of revenues, and are on your way to generating 85%, the world is your oyster. Only timidity will hold you back.

I guess common sense is not always so common :ronaldo

As first thought they were all empty threats and ICC called their bluff.

Personal question, if you are an Indian player in 1970s, would you throw away the indian jersey for a county contract ?

well, at least this drama is over. No one cares if BCCI contributes 70% or 100%...we've seen it countless times now that BCCI can never walk the talk. All these threats of pulling out and what not..

Personal question, if you are an Indian player in 1970s, would you throw away the indian jersey for a county contract ?

If my board was not paying me fairly, or was restricting my ability to play in lucrative leagues, I would say that the jersey was a board jersey rather than my country's jersey.

Do you remember Kerry Packer?

BCCI is now ready to fight war with ICC now that it is free from Lodha committee.
