Stokes is so far ahead its not even funny

Faulkner had a great couple of years in ODIs culminating in MoM in WC final but has fallen on the way side now

The Rest
What exactly have Stokes and Woakes done in ODI's to be rated higher than the rest?

They're towards the bottom IMO.

Faulkner, Marsh, Anderson and then the rest.

England is very lucky to have Stokes and Woakes together in test matches....

The rest of the countries are struggling to find even one

Marsh is pretty solid all rounder in ODIs...36+ average with strike rate of 90..bowling average is also pretty decent

It is about potential. Not long ago, Stokes was mediocre in Tests as well. He is simply too good not to eventually become top class in all formats.

As I said before, Stokes is the standout all-rounder of this era and the only one who can potentially get close to him is Mitch Marsh. What we saw today is just a glimpse of what he is capable of.

He will prove the doubters wrong like Stokes did. Australia must persist with him.

Woakes is the best bowling all-rounder while the others are decent at best, nothing special at all.

This isn't about potential, this is about rating players on past performances.

It's like me calling KL Rahul world class before he's had the performances to get there.

You have to account for potential as well. It plays a big part in how you judge players.

Accounting for potential does not mean that you give the player the world class tag before he gets there, but writing him off because he is not there yet is not right.

Anyone can see that KL Rahul is a very talented young batsman and has given enough hints through his talent, temperament, range of shots, technique etc. etc. that within a few years he will be a top player. Perhaps not Kohli, Root, Smith, Williamson level top player, but very close.

Same is the case with Mitch Marsh. It is only a matter of how much trust the Australian selectors have in him because he will get it right eventually.

Well said of Rahul...He has talent no doubt but he is lacking consistency...It will be exciting to see him in England and Australia again...

Marsh is a good talent, I think he will come good. He will be the only all rounder out of the ones above to challenge stokes.

Australia should stick with him.

Faulkner is beast in ODIS.

Can't believe Australia aren't playing him.

His bowling isn't really that good and his batting peak coincided with the easy mode last ten overs field restrictions.

Marsh and Maxwell are good enough to bat in the top 6 in ODIs. Faulkner is not and isn't in the top three fast bowlers in the country.
