England (416 & 425) convincingly defeat West Indies (457 & 143) by 241 runs in the 2nd Test match to win the series 2-0 with one match to play

Amazing that Wood is 34.5 yrs and still hitting speeds close to 94 mph

Only 18,000 odd balls in 13 years of professional cricket.

And he doesn't bowl at anywhere near full intensity in the nets either as confirmed by Stuart Broad.

That's how it should be.
Who goes extra hard in training. It's practice lol for a reason.

Mark wood is the fastest bowler in the world right now.
Bowling with serious intensity. Regularly 150ks plus.
Pace is pace...
He is the fastest. Wouldn't surprise me if he clocks 160. Guy has terrific speed
Amazing athlete.

You’d think McKenzie will be dropped for the 3rd Test, the poor lad has looked like a rabbit in headlights in this series.

Lol I m a passionate cricket fan I watch everything whether it's test or t20s. I can say this no one here watches cricket more than me.
I watch everything even t10 leagues LOL.
When did I say that India's win against Australia doesn't matter. Ofcourse it matters but it's not above any icc multinational tournament that's for sure, certainly for most Indian fans.
You can see how your countrymen celebrated that world cup win.
About that Indian guy.He is so hateable there's something about him LOL.

Lmao, of course casual fans celebrate ICC tournament more. But fans who spend time forumming as well as cricketers who play all formats clearly value tests more. Why's that so hard for you understand. Indian fans who post on this forum are not casual fans and they'll obviously rate wins in AUS more. Same with cricketers who play all formats. They obviously know winning a series in AUS is FAR more difficult than winning an ICC tournament especially 4-5 test long series. That's why India won multiple ICC tournaments till 2019 but not even one series in AUS. It's not rocket surgery, you know?

Lol @ that Indian batsman. LMAO even. It's good that as a follower of a lowly, mediocre team that drops matches against USA does not take the name of the GREATEST to hold the cricket bat. :lol

Bashir looking pretty dangerous on this pitch with variable bounce. Eng will stick with him for quite a while now.

Windies shot themselves in the foot by choosing to bowl first. Could have been a totally different situation if england were the ones chasing.

A lethal short ball from Wood strikes Sinclair on the wrist of his glove and he falls down to his knees.

Kevin Sinclair reviews but UltraEdge shows where he was hit, so he has to depart.

Nearly done

Very professional performance from England over the last two days.

My bad - expecting WI to do well TWICE on a dead track

England on the second day had some tough luck. Bowled well and beat the bat over and over again. The stat for Mark Wood was that he went past the outside edge on 18 occasions. Holder and Da Silva didn’t have a clue where the ball was going at times. It evens out.

So Bashir is actually a promising spinner then ai and not just another flash in the pan getting rated highly after receiving free wickets on Indian pitches for merely rolling an arm like an Ashwin or Jadeja

Boy did I miss Test Cricket, nothing can top watching a Test match in England. Great battle throughout until the West Indies got Bashired

England surged to a series win by blowing away West Indies in a single session on the fourth day of the second Test at Trent Bridge.

Set 385 to win or four sessions to save the game, West Indies disintegrated from 61-0 to 82-5 in a manic blur of five wickets in six overs.

Chris Woakes twice found the edge to remove openers Mikyle Louis and Kraigg Brathwaite, and off-spinner Shoaib Bashir bowled a magical spell to claim 3-8 in 15 deliveries.

From there, the only question was whether the game would last until Monday. Mark Wood bounced out Kevin Sinclair, Gus Atkinson struck twice in three balls and Bashir took the final two wickets to end with 5-41. West Indies were 143 all out and beaten by 241 runs.

All this came after Joe Root and Harry Brook each made centuries to lay the platform for England’s victory push.

Root’s 122 was his 32nd Test hundred, one short of Sir Alastair Cook’s England record, while Brook added 109 for his first Test ton in this country.

West Indies’ target might have been larger had England not lost 7-96, but the regular fall of home wickets also gave Ben Stokes’ side enough time to wrap up the game with a day to spare.

It gives England their first series win since the tour of Pakistan in 2022. They will look for a 3-0 clean sweep when the final Test begins at Edgbaston on Friday.

Yes, he's going to lead England to 3-0 in Pakistan later this year.

They were 61-0 !

A collapse was always on the cards for WI despite the 1st innings performance. These guys average in the 20s and 30s for a reason.

There must be a concerted effort to create a batting culture in WI. Fast bowlers are coming through fine. Most of the specialist batters in FC cricket have awful averages.

The pitches and practice facilities are in dire need of upgrading. Unfortunately finding the funds will be another challenge.

Brought up on terrible wickets dominated by poor spinners. We saw that in the T20 World Cup, they are not conducive to good batting or good cricket. It's also the problem we have

Bashir to be honest did well in India considering he was a kid on his Test debut and first tour. Didn’t come a cropper unlike many visiting spinners.
