Best TV Shows of All Time?

Every season gets worse. Season 1 is the best.

True. It becomes a mess after season 2 and near the end it's just convoluted crap. Season 1 is amazing tv. Straight up survival. The later seasons have some excellent episodes though like the season 3 Charlie one and Desmond's constant

Big Bang theory, another crap show. Cheap jokes and forced laugh track, 0 plot. Hate that lizard looking main character, don't like or get his snark attitude.

Comedies are hardly good,I realize many have different tastes but i really liked One day at a time, starts cliche and then gets better, probably a top immigrant comedy.

True, generally they are all average tbh hardly any quality comedies about. Will check that one out

The Wire
True detective(season 1)
GOT
Breaking Bad
The Sopranos
Sherlock
Westworld
Twin Peaks
Rome

Dark Knight? don't recall saying that. Best one of the trilogy, Nolan is a genius.

Breaking Bad while a good show is overrated.

You most certainly said Dark Knight is overrated and begins is better. It's fine if you changed your opinion

Just finished Night Of. Was an underwhelming finale that seemed rushed in the end. Had potential to become a proper series.

My definitive list

1) The Sopranos
2) Breaking Bad
3) The Wire
4) Game of Thrones
5) Narcos/Deadwood/Rome/The Shield

This doesn't include mini series like Band of Brothers or Fargo

The shield is much better than the wire lol.

The sopranos, narcos and zindagi gulzar hai. I can watch all three everytime

Have to watch Zindagi gulzar hai. Finished Pyare Afzal last year haven't watched a Pakistani drama since.

The Shield is absolutely amazing but The Wire is better and most people who have seen both will agree with me

The Wire isn't for everyone. It's very gritty and complex, not always action all the way like a lot of shows. I absolutely loved it but then I like quality films and some people prefer Fast and Furious.

The first season of American Gods was pretty good, didn't enjoy the finale due to the lack of pay off but I suppose that makes me look forward to the second season

It's a bit old school but I recently finished re-watching "Dr Quinn, medicine woman". Still as good as ever!

Watched the first episode of False Flag last night.

It's a Fox production about Mossad. Obviously there will be propaganda but the first episode was very good viewing. Looks a good thriller.

KingKhanWC Red Devil Resumed watching Vikings, on episode 6 of the latest season. For me Vikings is at least a level or two above the likes of GOT, the only area it can't compete are visuals. A show like Vikings though is not meant for simple people, every season has been so compelling with so much depth and amazing characters, even post Ragnor you can see that the producers have material for another 5 seasons without diluting the quality. The guy playing Ivar is truly special, almost to the point where he makes you feel a little better despite the losses from season 4.

Vikings is criminally underrated and deserves to be looked upon the greatest shows ever made

Ivor's character is one of the all time great tv series characters even though he has only been in the show for a couple of seasons. I love the story behind him, as he grew up a cripple, how he travelled with his father and now how he is set on ruling the world. The Christian priest is very good too in this series, it will be interesting to see how he continues. The battle scenes are also underrated, very good. I do prefer to GOT as its obviously more realistic and loosely based on history.

I dont know what to make of Floki in this season, he was my favourite character but has turned cuckoo. I wonder what his adventure will lead him to.

Haven't started season 5 man, didn't even realize 8 episodes are out already. Sounds like it's been amazing so far.

For me:

Fargo
Breaking Bad
Black Mirror/Inside no9
The End Of The F*****g World

I re-watched breaking bad. It's so good. One of the few tv shows i have ever finished. Season 1 and 2 were good, season 3 and 4 were amazing, and season 5 was probably the best thing i have ever seen. I loved every episode of season 5- it was television at its best.

Any Westworld fan? I am in the middle of first season and all i can say is it's amazing!

Anyone else watch Greys Anatomy? Man I loved that show, the first couple seasons of it were just GREAT!!! But the past few seasons since about season 10 it hasn't been the same, however for old times sake and I guess like when old stars in WWE return that magical feeling of the show exists and I still watch it. Going to miss the day it ends though. Such a good show it has been over the years.

Another show that I really enjoy watching these days is The Flash amazing show, and the first season was just pure gold loved it. Look forward to the next episode very soon!!!

The Flash is the most ridiculous , ghatiya and faltu show of all time . Those wankers have permanently ruined my memories of the superhero I used to love so much in the childhood.

The supporting cast is so bad that I don't even know where to begin.

And Grey's Anatomy? Lol more like American version of Sanjeevani/Dil Mil gaye. A glorified soap opera.
Same goes for that stupid overrated POS House MD where virtually every episode was the same.
Oh so it's not Lupus. No worries. Next time it's definitely gonna be Lupus.

Having watched a great deal of TV in the last year or so -

Breaking Bad.

Not saying it's the best but Luther gets a lot of good reviews.

I've started watching it - pretty good so far.

Resurrection Ertugrul - Turkish tv series on Netflix.

Best TV series ever , and that’s from having watched this series by reading English subtitles — it is brilliant. Worth learning Turkish just for this series.

Very Interesting !

Ranked only 7.2 on IMDB though.

Saw Informer a few months ago on the BBC. It's a story of a young Asian man recruited to spy for the police to stop a terror plot in London.

The acting is solid from the two main characters and the location the show's shot in really takes you into working-class London.

There's an Albanian gang plot I didn't care for as well as your usual broken marriage subplot that's become so overworn by now.

However the ending is powerful and I'd like to see a Season 2. 7.5/10.

Luther is very watchable with simple plots and a character that's essy to root for. However there are leaps in logic used for quick plot resolution. Sometimes it feels the characters are only as intelligent as the plot needs them to be.

Also it feels like the show doesn't know what to do with Alice Morgan. Charismatic no doubt but seems like a spare wheel.

7/10.

Me and the wife finished all five seasons in two weeks.
I think the wife enjoyed it more, can't think why :)

I am enjoying the remake of Das Boot. It has the grim feel of the original but is wider in scope - the Maquis stuff....

So your top 5?

Watching Suites. It’s pretty cheesy but good for light hearted entertainment. Heard it turns mediocre after first two seasons so I am not trying to follow it for long term.

I’m an unapologetic TVD fan. In terms of other favourites i’d go with Timeless, Ozark, GoT (obviously) and The Tomorrow People (hugely underrated). Mindhunters was also great. But i’ll admit that I haven’t been exposed to a lot good tv series mentioned in the thread above.

So i was searching for some old shows to watch and thn i found LOST and i was thinking how on earth i missed it before! Great Show!

Sopranos and Wire.. Nothing else still comes close.

Breaking Bad but Better Call Saul will surpass it.

Some more:

Sherlock
Frazier
Twin Peaks
The Haunting of Hill House
Narcos
Glitch
The Walking Dead (First 7 seasons)
Supernatural (First 4 seasons)
The Big Bang Theory (First 4 seasons)
The Night of
Castlevania
South Park

Been watching HBO's Rome, it's from 2005, but wow what a great show. I wish they hadn't cancelled it after 2 seasons, otherwise would've truly been better than Game of Thrones. The portrayals of Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony are amazing, and the characters of Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo are played really well too.

Wish they made more shows like this.

The leftovers
The Sopranos
Peaky Blinders
Deadwoods
Fargo

The premise for leftovers seems similar in vein to LOST which was arguably my all time fav show, may check it out. There is another show based on a similar concept to LOST called manifest I think, not sure if it is good though

Waiting for new season of Castlevania, that was so good. Been watching an R rated anime called Devilman, its decent so far very explicit

Its always sunny in Philadelphia for me , I think its the best.
SNL too somewhat if you can include such shows..

The Leftovers, Sopranos and the Wire are a tad below imho.

I am sure I tried to watch The Leftovers once before but couldn't get past half an episode. Might give it another try as I'm struggling to find anything recently.

Unbelievable was good, but just a mini series of 8 episodes.

There is an expected date and s3 is planned but you're probably right, I haven't heard about that one. Wish he released his own version of dark powers rangers just like that boot leg which the higher ups tried to shut down

There is basically no middle ground with this show, you would either can't stop thinking/talking about it or you would hate it with a passion. It demands a very specific set of audience and their utmost and undivided attention. I remember binging it done in two days while my wife was at her mom's and I had an entire weekend to kill and I cherish every moment of it to this day.

This is a bit similar to some of the Kubrick's movies or dare I say Van Gogh's artworks that received the due credit and fame decades after their creation due to being so far ahead of it's time in terms of artistic ambition and sheer genius.

I suggest if you genuinely wanna give it a try have some patience and keep an open mind, if you can sit through the slow agonizing build-up then the pay-off surely will blow your mind.

Good list, in each genre from them my fav's are Sherlock, Haunting of Hill House, Daredevil, Lost, Vikings/Sails/Demons and Walking Dead

I should have mentioned first 4 seasons of TWD lol. Negan used to be the only redeeming quality of this show, now even he has become a brooding and boring cry baby.

I don't mind a slow burner so long it is meaningful, shows like the terror and lost also had this; enjoyed them quiet a bit despite that, pacing is obviously key but the pay off is important.

Yeah I agree, thing is past 5 seasons it is hard to generally write a compelling show with the same impact. As far as Zombies are concerned it is still the best but it's not so easy to watch continuously like in the past because the novelty wears off. I remember watching the first 4-5 seasons in a short space of time then there were long periods between season 5 and 6, I have watched half of season 6; it has been about a year or so since I watched the mid season finale lol will resume at some point, am surprised it is still going on but they have a massive following

True on top of that they pretty much killed of most of the interesting characters over the course of first few seasons, I mean I know it is based on a graphic novel but they could have really avoided killing Shane, the major breakout character and stole every scene he was in.

The Watchmen is running right now which from the same creator as The Leftovers. Should be good!

In no particular order:

24
Luther
Mind your language
Fawlty Tower
Desmond's
Friends
Twin Peaks
Sherlock
Fraiser
The Office (US)
One Tree Hill

I would like to include the following:
The Americans
Billons
Penny Dreadful
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Narcos
Sopranos

I liked the general :afridi , speaking of Zombies; The Returned had a very interesting take, never got around to completing the season but it was great for what I did see, it is in French but I didn't mind , an under rated super natural drama / horror / mystery.
