What do you guys make of the first couple episodes of the Breaking Bad spin off? already a few other characters from breaking bad have been introduced and looks like it could be a fun series.

It looks really nice. Thankfully there is a strong dramatic component and this is not a silly dramedy.

Nice to see some familiar faces like Mike and
Tuco.

Interestingly, it's both a prequel and sequel so you don't quite know how it will end up.

Good start.

Not seen it yet. Still got 32 episodes of BB to go. Just watched the one about the fly.

You're just getting to the part where it gets really good.

On topic, a good first episode considering the unfair but inevitable high expectations.

never seen breaking bad, but I watched the first 2 episodes of Better Call Saul, and Loved it!!! Can't wait for next Monday.

I've not watched this yet what do you guys make of the episodes thus far? man this is a golden period for TV there's so much out there I don't know what to watch sometimes.

You have to watch Breaking Bad, absolutely fantastic series.

Only recently finished watching The Wire and even though that is a great series too I probably just preferred Breaking Bad over it.

I definitely would watch it soon..just not getting time to watch it all...I am just finishing up with Game of Thrones season 4, that's why. Should start watching after. It would be fun watching both BB & BCS simultaneously.

Think you should watch BB first as you will be able to relate a lot better with BCS especially some of the characters.

I guess it will be a while before this shows up on Netflix.

In the meantime, there's House of Cards Season 3, expected at the end of the month. I'll do what I did last year: watch it all the night it's released.

That was an insanely boring episode.

Eh? I was shouting at the screen, "Walt please shut up, for goodness sake shut up and go to sleep!" - it was so tense, and we learned so much about Walt.

You're just getting to the part where it gets really good.

I can't imagine anything being better than season 2. Every episode was a pressure cooker, and the climax with poor John DeLancy was jaw-dropping.

In that case let me know how you feel at the end :)

Loved it. Vince Gilligan at his best. So many subtle touches from Breaking bad. If first 2 episodes are an indication of the rest of the series, we are in for a treat

That Tuco scene with Saul guiding him in decision-making had me in stitches.

epic 2 episodes so far. let's hope it continues.

Enjoyed the episodes.
Tuco right now is too sober for my taste :P

Intriguing show so far. Well written script and great comic moments thrown in and well executed as well.

"Cucumber water for customers only." :misbah

I'm finding it really boring tbh. I don't see any excitement or suspense so far. The show is living on its reputation.

The first one and a half episodes was pretty poor but the desert scene at the end was very good.

my brother and parents didn't allow me to watch breaking bad with them but now my brother has gone to UNI i watch Better call saul and i like it

Loved both episodes, enjoy the dark comedy and nice to see it's a prequel and sequel at the same time gives the show a unique look for a spin off where the characters of breaking bad can also come back.

For people who have not seen breaking bad, i wonder how they would find watching 'Better call Saul'.

Its been good so far to be honest but i think a lot of the things i like about it are all to do with Breaking Bad.

Saul is still a class character.

Love how Jimmy/Saul acted like the Saul we know during the visitation with Chuck.

So I suppose Saul = Slippin' Jimmy.

Also, Mike is as cool as ever.

I think other than this episode this shows pacing is very slow not a lot happening like breaking bad from get go had a lot going on.

For those not watching, you are truly missing out. Has been an excellent first season and only one episode left.

Got up to the end of season four.

Season two was ninety miles an hour the whole way, while season four is more of a slowly-developing chess match between Grandmasters Gus and Walt. Gus appears to have Walt completely boxed in and yet Walt manages a sort of fool's mate, blinding Gus's uncanny ability to sense danger by overloading him with feelings of hate and revenge toward Hector. The last four episodes were tremendous in that I was cheering Gus on at one point, even though he is supposedly the villain, and in the last few seconds we realise that Walt is now every bit as bad, indeed he is The New Gus.

Yep, that episode caused probably the biggest change in our perception of Walt's character/ability since season 1. Looking forward to your end of season 5 (and series) review.

Excellent latest episode. Acting all round has been great and as with BB seasons, the season is building to a great finish.

Awesome show.

Better call Saul season 1 > Breaking Bad Season 1 (Although BB Season 1 was derailed a bit by the writer's strike).

The last 10 minutes of this week's episode were outstanding.

So what did everyone think of the finale? Personally I was a bit disappointed. As a standalone it wasn't such a bad episode but knowing the history of BB seasons of building up to a great ending and the fact that the penultimate episode was the best so far, I was expecting a more gripping finale.

The last episode was garbage. The season should have ended on Pimento. If is still a great show, but they made a mistake with the finale. Season 2 should be great, since we can finally see Saul.

Just one BB episode to go.

I think Ozymandias is the best sixty minutes of television I have ever seen. For once, Walt couldn't
summon Heisenberg to help him, and the Nazis saw his weakness and exploited it. Poor Hank - but he went out filled with pride and true to himself. He's the hero of the series, no doubt about it. Walt twists the knife into Jesse, but finds a way to protect Skyler in that jaw-dropping phone call scene.

Todd seems to be the one utterly evil character in the show.

I think I know what Walt needs that M60 for..... but what does he need the ricin for?

I loved it. It's not as good as Breaking Bad obviously, because then it would be up there with the best TV series of all time, but it's fabulous in it's own right. I wish there were more shows which relied on wit and originality rather than regurgitating the same old themes about superheroes or police/secret intelligence.

OK talha3 and from_da_lost_dim3nsion,

I found the final episode completely satisfying. When the
M60
opened up I was shouting in triumph! I'd pictured some sort of desert ambush.... I actually guessed the use of the ricin, if not the delivery system, and was pleased by it. Lovely to see Badger and Skinny Pete one last time.

Overall series five was sad for me - Walt's pride and ego finally conquering him, his long and strange relationship with Jesse ended, the wrecking of his family - but in the end he set some of it right, and went out on his own terms with his head up. The Walt-Jessie relationship was the core of the whole thing for me and I liked the parts of the story when they were allies most of all. Those two character arcs - one has a loving family which he destroys, one is desperate for a family - were the tragedy. I would have liked to see Jessie reunited with Andrea and Brock.

OK, I'll say it - with The Wire, that was the best long series I have seen, even a tad better than The Sopranos.

On the DVD there is an alternative ending, where Hal from Malcolm in the Middle wakes up from a horrible nightmare in which he was a drug lord. "There was a bald cop like on The Shield and I was married to a tall beautiful blonde" he says, to which Lois growls "You wish".

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Agree with your thoughts on Ozymandias and the finale. What was satisfying for me was Walt completely coming to terms with the reasons behind all of his actions since being diagnosed. Also, in the end I think it's implied that Jessie will get the second chance he deserves.

I had no idea about the alternative ending haha. Thanks for sharing.

I finished breaking bad season 4 about a month ago. Haven't got round to season 5. I'm wondering what else can happen, surely everything is answered?

What do people think of series 5?

If you liked season 4, you'll love season 5. Trust me you haven't seen the best of the show yet.

As I said, I found it sad. A couple of well-loved major characters meet their demise. At last free of Gus, Walt is in a position where he thinks he can control everything but he cannot and the whole lot disintegrates on him. But facing his apocalypse, he finds a way to fight back.

If you're like me, you will laugh, you will gasp in shock, you might even shed tears..... but in the end you'll be cheering for Walt again. A perfect finale (or Felina, to get more element names in) to a perfect series.

Senor Robert is a pretty fly guy when it comes to taste in cinema and TV. With his age, you would expect him to scoff at today's cinema and claim that it was better in earlier days with Lumet, peak Coppola, and Ingmar Bergman. But respect to him. :14:

No pretensions with this one.

Watched the first episode. Now on to the second.

Still a long time to go!

Would like to give this a try when I have the time, but I don't have high hopes because I could never connect with Breaking Bad and felt that it was grossly overrated.

Did you watch all of breaking bad?

Better call Saul is still pretty good, it has less of the action and bloodshed but the writing and acting is still top notch.

First season slow as heck but that's how vince does it. Builds characters etc. This season is already picking up pace episode by episode. I am hooked!!

This season has been fantastic so far. I finally am enjoying the Chuck vs Jimmy/Saul storyline due to the brilliant acting and good writing of the latest episode while next episode will be Ignacio centric which also is gonna be brilliant.

Amazing last episode. Brilliant show overall. Remember thinking I would be disappointed back when it was announced since Breaking Bad is my favourite show however I was wrong.

Excellent episode, normally i look forward to following Mike's badassery but he was not missed throughout the episode, that's how good it was, Chuck getting screwed is always fun to watch. I still think it will all end in Chuck's favor.

Looks like a lot happens in the next episode judging by the promo, plenty of actions and at the end of the promo you even hear Kim's voice mention "Saul Goodman" so i think the transformation finally begins after two and a half seasons.

I watch many different type of shows from action to drama but their is something special about this. It's not for everyone as it can be slow and quirky but the acting is top notch. Everything just seems real.

I have only one question on the final episode.. how did Walt put the ricin in that sugar sachet?? could somebody explain me? Thanks

He clearly gets disbarred after this so Saul will emerge.

Charles hold a lot of resentment as we found in the first series with Jimmy dipping his hand in the till.

I’ve never watched this although I’ve finished Breaking Bad.

I’ve heard some episodes of the new season will crossover with the Breaking Bad timeline.

Could never get into B.B. or G.O.T.

Mad Men (started wandering off after Season 4) and The Sopranos were gold.

Love this one. Runs Breaking Bad immensely close at times. Just really high quality TV.

Season 3 for me has been the best so far - perfect mixture of gripping drama, twisted black comedy, heartbreaking tragedy and pathos, which is what the show is consistently trying to achieve IMO.

Still haven't watched it. Currently on the last episodes of my BB rewatch. I'll watch Legion next and then BCS.
