Lol @ all the posters that said BK is trash.
BK is an amazing swing bowler with the new ball and when the conditions are good, he is a brilliant bowler. His batting is another major plus and he is a reliable catcher too.
BK will become one of India’s best bowlers by the time he retires. His stats will make him one of the best of his generation from Asia.
Fact is, no one can make the ball talk like BK does with the new ball. He can swing the ball both ways without any change in the release of the ball.
BK should play every match for India unless the pitch is a rank turner and pacers are not needdd at all. One of Top 3 bowlers in Asia at the moment.
He looked totally avg bowler when pitch was flat and that's reason he mostly plays in helpful condition in test matches for india. I am sure he will keeps learning and will get better but he will be more likely dropped during flat pitches (aus tour) His stats will get better because he mostly plays on green decks. But no doubt he is reliable batsman at 6 or 7.
Aus is a place where only hit the deck super fast bowlers can succeed. You always see Jimmy Anderson struggle in Aus. But the same Jimmy becomes a monster on green tracks.
You need bowlers like Shami, Bumrah, Yadav and Ishsnt in Aus.
In Eng, SA, NZ you need BK in full flow to win matches.
Lots of talk on Aussie forums regarding dishing up lively wickets when India tours. In taht case BK is a must. He has to play the Day-Night match the least.

He is absolute garbage.
Interesting to note, Indian fans defend Kumar's pathetic returns in ODI cricket but bash Amir if he has even one bad game.
Extremely conditions dependent. Better in tests than LOI.
For me, Kumar is the best bowler to come out of India for a long time.
Kumar and Kohli are the only 2 Indian players worth mentioning in the modern era. The rest of the Indian players are cheap hacks who go to school on their names. If either of the 2 are not playing, India lose - that's how talented they are.
Bumrah is much better than Kumar. He is their only pacer.

Rofl 90 wickets in 85 matches and half wickets of tail or came in totally end. It's that team is performing great so he can still get away. Avg of 37 is totally poor be it in any era of ODIs. He will be great when pitch has help for him but looks very avg on flat decks. I can bet he will be pretty ordinary against quality side because quality players can easily play him with new balls on flat decks and in end it can be easy to smack as well.

Which Indian fans? Mate! You Pak fans are the ones who keep blasting Amir for all his bad games and you guys are the ones who create threads if 'Aamir is needed anymore in ODIs', what's Amir's contribution in Tests and bla bla! Just for the sake of bumping this post and start an argument about Bhuvi's game, don't generalize indian fans here. As an Indian, I have an utmost respect for Aamir as a bowler and he is the only bowler who can give Kohli a run for his money. And coming to Bhuvi! yes! He has his shortcomings and he may not get wickets in every match, but the duo of Bhuvi and Bumrah is doing wonders for India of late even if either of them goes wicketless! They compliment each other and their success as death bowlers has helped India win many games of late! Bhuvi has transformed volumes in the past 1 year and you are only going to see a better version of him as the days pass by! I personally love Amir's bowling and no I don't bash him for his poor games!

Great unbiased post mate, I think theres too many fans on both sides here who defend one of their own players by bashing the rivals player just to justify how good their player is and how trash rivals is. I think Pak and India fans alike have inferiority complex after all we are related
I am indian and i started this thread and ofcourse the things i mentioned are real fact that he is very much overrated. He averages 45+ against aus, south africa, england & new zealand in odi cricket.
Tomorrow he's going to get a few, and then this thread's going to rock....![]()
Still won't change the fact that he averages 50 against south africa, 64 against aus, 49 against england & 48 against new zealand.
Look around. You'll find plenty of your brethren just waiting to pounce after one bad performance by Amir. You might be the only one who doesn't do that, so fair play to you mate.Which Indian fans? But but Kumar has changed.. Kumar is a new bowler!!
B kumar is most definitely not India's best bowler.First he needs to find a place in this Indian side when they play in Sub continent. All indian bowlers like Shami,Yadav and Ishant are picked ahead of him on typical Sub continent pitches. His "bowling" performance in SA Test series was very Good(nothing more than that).
In Odi's,He is one of the worst New ball bowlers going around. His strike rate is amongst the worst. His death bowling has improved massively since ipl 2016 which will help improve his odi Average(as he will pick wickets in death overs). But,it won't be much of a use if he doesn't provide wickets with new ball.
In CT 2017 match was decided in first 10 overs of an innings.Amir won the match almost singlehandedly by taking wickets of Dhawan,Rohit and Kohli while the likes of bumrah(IMO he was very unlucky in that match) and Kumar failed to provide any wickets with new ball.
Why is he in the team?
5 overs with new ball, gave 35 runs with Economy of 7 and Picked 0 wicket.
Like I've said before,Kumar is one of the worst new-ball bowler.
He looks like he is for sure gonna play world cup 2019 and in world cup most batsman will play him carefully. He isn't a kind of bowler who can run through good batting line up on odi pitches. Alot lucky that other bowlers keep picking wicket so he doesn't have any issue and as far as batting is considered he plays well.
Fantastic display of bowling today. Just 24 balls and it was T-20, but swung it early and then made it hard later.

That was pretty good performance but what i was talking in this thread is about his odi performance when there is no pressure on batsman to hit for every ball bhuvi bowls.
According to one guy here , 4-0-24-5 figure is the epitome of cheap wickets on a high scoring , high altitude ground.
LOL he is not even rated! One of the worst bowler going around. He is good for nothing
I wasn't commenting on 24 runs on high scoring ground or his 5 wickets.
I was just commenting on how he bowled. He bowled really well and showed plenty of skills.

You mean you actually watched him? You did not just go to Cricinfo and see the stats like some of the experts here? What the hell is this sorcery?
averages 26 in tests. But one of the worst bowlers. Some people smh
avg of 26 on green pitches he plays? he is next jimmy andreson for me in test cricket.

If Kumar can last and do what Jimmy did then Indians should be very happy.

BK was also awesome in Lanka, WI. No green pitches there.
How much does golden boy of Pak average?
BK also played in India and was pretty decent where spinners were the main weapons.
Rarely watch T-20, but I was interested to see some young SA players.
You need to get better at 'looking around'Actually even after "looking around" I couldn't find any Indian posters who "pounce after one bad performance by Amir". Personally I have always rated Amir in LOIs. In Tests I think he doesn't have the endurance to bowl long spells. Needs to strengthen his body if he wants to be successful in Tests.
Congratulations to BK for picking up some wickets. Doesn’t change the fact that he is incredibly over hyped.
That's why I feel BK and bumrah won't be enough for india to win the 2019WC.We need 3 proper fast bowlers along with 2 specialist spinners.
I think in the first 10 overs especially with the new ball BK could utilise the swing in England and take 2 or 3 quick wickets.
