What's new

Bilal Asif takes 5/65 & Azhar Ali scores 62* as Pakistan reach 139/3 at Stumps on Day 2

I have lost faith in sarfarz as a captain. He is spineless and should only be t20 captain.

Hafeez' workload must be managed. Needs to skip SA series. Should play only in Asia.

What's the point of playing him on easy batting pitches of Asia? Why his replacement will have to suffer batting in alien conditions and getting discarded after few failures on tough pitches? He needs to be booted permanently.

I only come to pp now a days to release my frustration against Inzi and sarfaraz for their joke of selection.Thats what we can do.

when tried and tested failures are selected and given chances again and again, they always manage to score when they are on the verge of being dropped.

who knows Hafeez or Imam might score 100 in 2nd innings.

He is still banned if i am not wrong. Shan masood has performances behind his back this time around so on merit he did deserve a fair chance.

He should be selected but unless he has improved enormously technically he will be a big failure at this level.

I will actually put Faheem Ashraf as an opener.

He will take some wickets and get some quick-fire runs.

In any case Imam and Hafeez are not even scoring 10 runs. Faheem's quick-fire 25-30 is more welcome.

If we pick the likes of Imam (due to nepotism) and Hafeez we deserve to lose.

So typical start in South Africa will be 0/2.

Why not just open with Azhar again and get another opener who doesn't have the batting skill and mental ineptitude of a donkey?

Shan is performing in List A domestics very well, what about in FC?

Haven't seen him play after his snub from the national side. He hangs around with Younis khan so there is an assumption that he had reinvented himself just like YK did earlier on in his career. I don't personally rate him highly due to his previous stint but you never know he may turn things around this time.

Raining boundaries, what is going on.

Bowlers bowling filth.

I hope this is a joke. He wont last 2 balls against SteynRabadaNgidiPhilander.

Pakistan's best bet is to get Azhar opening with Fakhar. Haris at 3, Shafiq at 4 ( because he wont be dropped) and Babar at 5. A new batsman at 6, maybe Saud.

Haris the lion. He has 6-7 years hopefully more in internationals, hope he makes the haters pay for every year taken from his career to keep bums like Hafeez, Shehzad and others in business.

you did not get what i was saying. If there is an option of selecting an opener from 1) Imam 2) Hafeez 3) Faheem.

I will opt Faheem.

Top 2 pile.pressure on Azhar. Only younis thrived on such pressure. Assad still hiding down the order. Not good. U cant play asad, sarfraz and openers... walking wkts... harris looks good but no bottle... azhar ali has bottle but not good enuff if u r being honest...

What is it with all these soft deliveries on the pads for the batsmen to pick off.

Imam is a decent ODI batsman though.

All his runs have come against minnows so far..
He doesnt have the game to tackle quality bowling.
No reason he should be playing for pak other than nepotism. There are much better batsmen in Pak

I think Abid Ali has outperformed him and everyone else in FC. Shan was among the runs though as far as i remember.

In my opinion stopgap selections should be avoided , what will you achieve by giving a 34 years old his debut in a long term. He may have 3 4 years in him which essentially includes a patch of failures as well. Will be a non sense selection if they do it.

His poor fitness kept him out of team for all these years. otherwise he was in the team 5 years ago.

He broke a bone on the eve of SA test tour 2013, then when he recovered they didn't give him a chance in tests for a long time since.

But we don't have too many options. Who else to back if not the top domestic performer? A 2 year prime can be gladly accepted at this moment if the other opening option is Hafeez or manzoor.

Good to see posters supporting Pak team with positive comments. Let me off one out. Pak have done really well to bowl out Kiwis for 274 despite losing toss. Hopefully the batting will take them well ahead of Kiwis score. Hafeez failing was another positive considering we have a tougher assignment ahead and hopefully he would be replaced.

Misbah friends are as shameless like him too. Hafeez is a perfect example. Misbah and selectors have wasted 5-7 years of Haris Sohail.

Not true Haris was a permanent fixture in one day team and was only missing due to his injury. I love how everyone makes false allegations here to spread rumours to cause hatred toward Pak legends.

To survive as a test batsman you need to have faith in ur defensive technique, and i see that with haris sohail

but this guy is morally corrupt & verbally hypocrite.[/QUOTE]

Couldn’t agree more .. Inzi must go along with most of the deadwood @ pcb

There is no exaggerated spin on this pitch. Bilal Asif and Yasir bowled v well.

The 19 years old umair yousuf is pretty good , scored a very good 163 this season and averaging 41.

Seems like this is a new ball pitch for batters. Once the ball gets to 20 overs old, run making becomes difficult. Saw the same trend with the NZ innings.

Not able to watch due to work, what type of bowler is Somerville and how is he bowling?

Need some big hundreds from out middle order. We need to some how bat big in this 1st inns.

Time to score runs under pressure.
