PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday offered Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) ministries in Sindh in exchange for the party breaking off its alliance in the Centre with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

"Topple it, topple it, topple Imran's government," he said at a ceremony in Karachi, where he inaugurated four development projects on Monday.

"We will give you equal number of ministries in Sindh. The only condition is that you send Imran home," the PPP chairman said.

MQM is one of PTI's allies in the federal government and its MNAs Farogh Naseem and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui hold the federal ministries for law and information technology, respectively.

During his address today, Bilawal said if MQM breaks off its alliance with PTI and manages to get Sindh its share in resources, the provincial government will "stand by [MQM] for the sake of Karachi's people".

"Today or tomorrow, all the facilitators, all the allies [of PTI] will have to take this decision, will have to save Pakistan and end Naya Pakistan," Bilawal said.

When asked about Bilawal's comments, Karachi mayor and MQM leader Waseem Akhtar said: "Our party might sit and hold a discussion on this, what can be done in future. It's not about me."

Karachi's development important for all
Bilawal, in his speech today, also criticised the PTI government over the decision to remove 800,000 people from the Benazir Income Support Programme, saying that it was "cruel and unjust to snatch Rs1,000 from poor women in this economic situation".

He regretted that residents of shantytowns "were being made homeless" in extreme winter and urged the mayor of Karachi to halt any anti-encroachment drive that was underway in the city so that people will not be exposed to the cold weather.

He told a crowd of supporters that PPP had initiated several development projects in Karachi, which include the construction of two bridges and an underpass which, Bilawal said were "obviously very important for Karachi's communication network" and will help in improving the city's traffic woes. He said that Karachi's development was important for the entire country, not just the city's residents.

"PPP government is the only government in the country that is working and we can show that," he said but acknowledged that his party's efforts to provide health, education and other facilities to Sindh's people were not enough to "meet the demand".

He lamented that the federal government was not providing Sindh its rightful share in resources and funds, adding that the PPP cannot "compromise" on the province's rights.

"At the same time, we will have to think and come up with a way to expand the scope of our development. How can we work more with fewer funds," he said, adding that public-private partnership was one way to work on mega-development projects.

Billo wants to be hero before he is locked( Omni Group and the billions stolen) up. He is lucky that NAB have the evidence but will deliberately weaken the case to let him off. If this China, Billo would never walk again.

A genuine refusal? Or looking for a better deal.

I think PTI Govt should seriously consider merging FIA with NAB. Not a bad idea from Fawad Ch but i guess it's not happening without 2/3 majority.

NAB should identify the cases that need to be investigated, FIA should investigate and an independent prosecuter should be appointed to prosecute.

Yes but the whole purpose of NAB is prosecution if you take it away from them thn there is not much left for them to do.

MQM-P's Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announces resignation as Minister for Information Technology

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Sunday announced that he was resigning from his post as Minister for Information Technology but that his party was not abandoning the PTI government despite its reservations.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Siddiqui said that holding the post in the federal ministry was "raising a lot of questions".

"We had supported [PTI] in forming the government. We are not taking back our cooperation," he clarified.

At the outset of his address, the MQM-P leader said when his party became part of the government, it had promised to provide support in forming the government and had promised to support PTI in every difficult stage.

"We have fulfilled our promise and intend to fulfil our promise," he said.

Siddiqui lamented that after 16-17 months, not even one point regarding the conditions in Sindh had seen progress.

"At this point, it becomes difficult for me to remain in the government, that I [continue to] hold a minister's position, and people in Sindh continue to face the conditions they did before we joined the [federal] government."

According to the MQM-P leader if the party had seen "some seriousness" on these matters it may have waited a little longer.

"The lack of seriousness on these matters left us no choice," he said, adding that MQM-P's Rabita Committee (Coordination Committee) had held a detailed discussion on Friday after which it had concluded that it was useless for him to hold the minister's post.

He reiterated that the party was not ending its cooperation with the government.

In July 2019, the PTI-led government had decided to give MQM-P another ministry after which the party held two ministries — law and information technology.

Siddiqui also clarified that over the past few days there had been an offer of ministries from "somewhere else".

"Today's announcement has no connection to that," he said.

Siddiqui appeared to be referring to PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's recent offer to MQM-P of ministries in Sindh in exchange for the party breaking off its alliance in the Centre with the ruling PTI.

On December 30, 2019, Bilawal had said: "Topple it, topple it, topple Imran's government.

"We will give you equal number of ministries in Sindh. The only condition is that you send Imran home."

Following the PPP leader's offer, MQM-P had not outright rejected the offer but described it as a "non-serious attempt".

During today's press conference, responding to a question regarding whether he had submitted his resignation to the prime minister or federal cabinet, Siddiqui said: "We have told you first and through you (the media) we have taken the people of the country into confidence. We will then complete the rest of the steps."

big development today. What happens if MQM, PPP and PML N joins hands together can they topple PTI govt?

Apparently it is halal for the champions of tabdeeli to form an alliance with MQM but haraam for PPP.

I fully endorse this. The opposition is justified to take any measures as long as they can get rid of this joker government with the worst PM in Pakistan’s history at the helm.

The amount of damage that PTI has done to our youth and our society cannot be reversed in the short-term. The poison and hatred that they have injected will take years and years to inhibit.

People voted for Naya Pakistan and they got lotas and clowns running important ministries. The nation has never been conned like this before, and all the blame goes to the military for supporting these street urchins for their personal gains.

Only they can sort out the mess that they have created by acting out of national interest for once. This government must be dissolved because the the country will completely collapse on their watch.

Another long bag of wind from the guy that uses our taxes as wages and doesn't work. "The poison and hatred", and you are the idiot that backed Phuppi Diesel.
Can you tell us what this govt will do with Billo and Maryam as its head. Lol

I thought you had ended your support for PPP after they chose to support the army act.
What happened to not supporting any party that toes the line.
