^^ I still cant understand what's the progress like of that operation which has been conducted by our army for last 2 years...we successfully won swat back but after that never heard about the progress of what happened to other operations (like operation rah-e-raast, operation rah-e-nijaat) that were conducted in FATA areas.

Let me give you a clue here: Japan, South Korea, Germany, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.

And then there was Vietnam and Beirut from where the US did leave or were forced to leave.

My point is that if you see the pattern, the countries in which US has their troops, there is a good chance they won't leave that country soon. Again, I mention Veitnam and Beiruit so there is a chance. My guess would be that Afghanistan is not a country which US would be leaving anytime soon.

I agree there is no oil in Afghanistan. Thus, staying in Afghanistan, US must have a good reason, if they decide to stay there. right??

As far loses is concern, I think thats the price one has to pay if you are Super Power. I mean if Americans can runway only because they are scared of dying then I guess it would be difficult for them to get going in any war. Just an opinion.

Can you point to one post AFTER Stiver's comment which agreed with him or Cheered his comment?

You highligthed it and drew attention to it.
 
Some questions regarding our army?

1) They were probably sleeping during the OBL operation.?
2) Maximum of 20 terrorists went inside the PAF base "unnoticed" ?

I thougnt this was the only real working institution we had in Pakistan but what is happening?

You can't launch an attack like this without inside help - find the traitors within the Armed forces and you'll be halfway there to completing this jigsaw.
 
Furious about this attack for a variety of reasons.Time and time again our military bases are being besieged by criminals.

Where was the security ? Our defence budget is crippling us,where is the return on our investment ?

And secondly,people who are sympathising with these fanatics are just as sickening.Why are people so quick to condemn drones but not the actions of these killers ?

There have been military personnel who tried to defend and later on,re-take the base who have been martyred.You hear stories about our brave soldiers going into the tribal belt and ending up with amputated limbs,all to protect their country.

But yet you have online jihadis tarnishing our military and the soldiers who do NOT dictate foreign or domestic policy.

The generals must wake up.The deweaponization of Pakistan is long overdue.

Also,there are places even in Karachi,the economic capital of Pakistan,where there are many militant strongholds which are no-go areas for the police and law enforcement agencies.I'm not saying there should be a military operation on Karachi,but some form of crackdown has to happen.

And the people who have funded and given weapons to these criminals behind this attack must also be brought to book,put on trial and given capital punishment as soon as possible.

Operation has been completed after almost 16 hours. As expected, they are still continue search operations to ensure none of these animals are hiding elsewhere within the area.

Very much like the Mumbai attack, the militants were well-equipped with arms, ammunition, food and drink.

"It was shown several months ago that the Pakistan navy is vulnerable to Islamists when a marine commando unit official was arrested," the security official said. "He was a member of the Mehsud tribe from South Waziristan [tribal area] and was completely indoctrinated by militants. Naval Intelligence never shared the information with the ISI [Inter-Services Intelligence] or any other security agency that during interrogation he confessed that militants planned to attack installations during the visit of a foreign delegation. Now, they [intelligence] realize how the organization [navy] is riddled and vulnerable to the influence of militant organizations," the official said.

So far these guerilla style attacks have taken place in installations of the armed forces, and have been relatively easier to contain.

I hope a commando team is formed and trained, in all major cities, to take out these terrorists when they hit a civilian site e.g. hotel, in the same fashion.

This is America's doing these guys were not terrorists were commandos whether American or trained by them makes no difference idiots in caves cant pull this off.

Secondly Army was not incompetent it got set up reports state that American Engineers were supposed to arrive there Yesterday to work on the Planes that got blown up. So easy for America to send in Commandos in that situation backed up by the fact the main target were the American planes.

Thirdly is it not a bit convenient that a NAVAL BASE was attacked a within 2 days of CHINA SAYING IT WAS GOING TO TAKE COMMAND OF GAWDAR AND THE FACT THAT IT WAS HIGHLY SOPHISTICATED AMERICAN NAVAL EQUIPMENT THAT WAS DESTROYED

finally to all the people arguing whether it was Indians or ttp 1- they are not capable of pulling this style of black ops and secondly don't focus on them there not worth it at all!
