Can anyone stop imperious India from winning the World Cup?

India is ahead of all the teams in these home conditions. They are winning this one but just like the last time, they will fail to defend it in SA 2027.
 
India is looking like they have all bases covered, but the KOs will be different pressure.
 
I can see South Africa beating them due to their bazzball nature this tournament.

I find it hilarious people were actually telling me rizwan > Quinton 😂😂.

Quinton has been the best player of this tournament by miles even > Kohli. The guy has scored his 3rd century lol. He's clearly pulling it a goated send off.

This is how one should play their final tournament. What an insult to quinton comparing him to rizwan 😭
 
A fantastic team. They have done well. Today was the game they would had lost if they were not a proper world cup team.

But they are a proper team now. The batting didnt click, no worries, the bowling came to India's rescue. If India does not mess this up in the KO, its their World Cup to win.
 
I don't think so.

The only way it can happen is if their opponents get off to an Australia or South Africa type flyer and put up big numbers. Scoreboard pressure might cause a buckle.

Right now it's difficult to see who will stop them - they've overcome all opponents and all kinds of tests.
 
They will go 9/9 in the group stage that's for sure semi final is a different ball game and pressure the way things going they will most likely going to play New Zealand
 
No one can be guaranteed a trophy, often it depends on the day if the team performs. But at this moment they look the best suited to these pitches. Good spinners, high quality pace men, and they've always known how to bat.

India haven't been a "world champion" in any ICC tournament since 2013. Of course they should worry. Blow away the top order early (especially Rohit and Virat) and this team will be exposed like it has been for the last decade.
 
On merit India deserves to win this WC as they have all basis covered. Only thing that can stop them is letting the pressure of a Semi Final or Final get to them.
 
Their batting gets a lot of praise, but their bowling even without Pandya has such variety and skill. The bowlers are experienced and of course know these pitches so well.

KL rahul in middle has been reassuring this time around. Lots of match winners with few passengers. I’m usually cautiously optimistic but a little confident this time.
 
This current Indian team remind me of the American basketball dream team.

Far superior than any other team.

What Dhal Chawal is Rohit eating? Man is streets ahead of anyone in this WC

Champions of course.
 
Right now indian team is fully loaded with skills in each and every department. Technically they are the best team of this world cup. But you can't say, one bad day in knockouts and you are out.
 
All 4 semi finalists will be good sides. They all can beat each other. India topped the table even in 2019. Let us not forget. India has "final hurdle" issue.
 
A KO as Gilchrist always says is a 2 horse race.. Anyone can win on that day... whoever handles the nerves better.. And to win a WC , to be a champion - yes you have to beat the best teams and handle the pressure. Thats why its a WC with KO games...
 
They got the team to chase, and they got a strong bowling line up to defend. It’s very difficult to beat them, and that too in India.

NZ deserves it 2nd for having the 2nd best preparation

And sa deserve 3rd

Pakistan should have learned from these 3 on how to prepare for a world cup by grooming youngsters, discarding the concept of nepotism, having top class fitness standards, and adopting a fearless approach.

Instead we went the England route. Playing the same old same old has been team.
 
We have a great team and we are proud of them. They have secured the semi finals now so it’s great.

Won’t be putting them under too much pressure in the KOs. Anyone can win on the given day, they’re all good teams out there in top 4.

No. KL Rahul without the assurance of Rohit or Kohli at the other end of the crease is not trustworthy. He's the type to bottle it in big games.

KL come the big game has always failed to deliver. hope its different this time.. Better yet , hope he's not needed at all during batting lol !😂

It's als not playing IPL that has affected our performance. Not grooming youngsters yes.

But tbf our odi team is just of mediocre quality.

Two things that have always derailed India. Flat pitch and India has to chase a huge total. Or a green pitch. I see chances for either to be zero in the semis in India. I think India can go to final. But then it's a huge uphill battle if Aussies are the opponents.

I think we are being unfair to KL Rahul v2. The game against Aussies was a very good test and he played with assurance, confidence and skill.

I just hope we dont bump into the Kiwis in SF ... it will be Sayanora time then.
 
Till this moment …… India looks invincible
But couple of things needs improvement

1) in all 6 winning matches, Rohit or Virat played big knocks, it’s time for Gill/Iyer/Rahul should play big knocks in remaining 3 matches….Ishant Kishan shall be give an opportunity in place of Iyer

2) poor fielding…. In NZ match, India’s fielding was really bad, still they won match….poor fielding may prove fatal in KO.

Maybe South Africa as their batting is very strong, but the Australia pace attack has already had their good day against the Indian batting, and still the Indians won. Won’t happen again.

I expect South Africa to lose when pressure is on during a knockout game.

They can't seem to handle pressure. Aussies can.

If india lose its due to their stalwarts kohli and rohit failing in yet another ko

If they had picked jaiswal sundar ans varma I am sure they would win all games. But they are backwards in their thinking just like us Pakistanis.
Even ishan can be picked.

That jaiswal kid Is a star.
And remember this is india without rishab pant.

Pant has done well in Test but hasn't been that great in ODI.

Pant averages about 34 in ODI with just 1 century (in 30 games).

Pant is probably not a big loss in this World Cup for India.

Pant over iyer is a no brainer. He is a match winner. Best test player easily and he csn come good in odi anytime. Untapped potential.

Pant had mental mindset of a winner that Iyer Ishan etc don’t have.. and that cannot be taught.

Against good bowling attacks, Pant >>> Iyer, Ishan and Samson.

Pant had pretty good technique vs pace and spin too.
 
Iyer isn't bad. He'll iron out eventually. Kishan is a bit of a hack atm

Pant is a massive loss given his clutch nature. Don't go by stat. That century was clutch 100. Pant by the time picked up the injury was a fully evolved player.

Pant is the best test player period. His injury has hampered india in tests alot despite them doing well.

Rishab pant is the best player. Better match winner than rohit and kohli. He is easily the best player in the world when fit.
 
If India wants to win the world cup we need to rectify the remaining chinks in our armour. Going forward this is the team we should play in all games especially KO.

Rahul
Kishan
SKY
Pandya
Jadeja
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Shami

Keep SKY in the team. He is the wild card in our team who can win us the game out of nowhere and also provides explosiveness down the order.
Drop Iyer and Siraj. Inform Pandya that he will have to bowl 10 overs especially in a KO. Kohli can also fill in for 2-3 overs if need be .

If only Gill can show his great run of form prior to WC in remaining games, we'll be unstoppable.
 
India to choke....We are not going to win it... OZ/SA/NZ/PAK/SL/AFG/NL/ENG/BD to win it.

South Africa and New Zealand can if they bat first and post 320+.

But India have a 95% chance of winning the World Cup.
 
India is a top heavy team and any team that can remove the top three cheaply will curtail their run. They will sink out in the semis inshallah.

It is not 2015-19 anymore. India have a quality middle-order now.

InshAllah they will win the World Cup because they deserve to. Excellent preparation and all their players are ready to give their all for their nation.

Actually there is a kernel of truth there: India has the highest rate of conversion for offered catches this tournament whereas Australia is remarkably even lower than Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Save for a few misfields especially near the ropes, Indian fielding has been quite decent.
 
Nobody is beating us in Ahemdabad.

So our only hurdle is the Semi final at the Wankhede where good teams can bat us out of the game while batting first.

Agree with you on their preparation & professional standards. The complete opposite of the Pakistan cricket culture which depends on superstitions & miracles.
 
In a knockout game you only really need a couple of players to have a good day or a couple of your own to have a bad day.

If Klassen, QDK, Warner, Maxwell etc go on a tear there's nothing that can be done to stop them taking their side home.

India goes into every match as massive favourites, but as I said earlier surely they are due to slip once in the tournament. Aus has slipped already, the Saffers suffered a massive upset. India's slip may come in the knockout.
 
No one can stop them. Rohit is lifting the trophy on 19th Nov at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad (handed over by our beloved and world's most popular leader Modiji). Each opponent will drown in the blue ocean.
