You never know.
But, NZ are looking good to win this.

Doubt there’s much chasing to be done. Doubt the “senior” players will be thinking tonight of much else other than spending an hour or two at the crease to salvage their careers.
But the overall narrative that is brewing is interesting and a few things whose confluence can conspire to put additional pressure on Misbah/Waqar:
- The result of this Test and how we are hurtling towards it
- Exposing of our fielding standards post since we moved on from the previous coach
- The result of the other Trans-Tasman Test, and how our neighbours performed despite being weakened
- Rahane’s open emphasis on First Class and A team experience for debutants
- The total SRL put up in SAF (keen eye on that series under, especially what with it being under Mickey’s tutelage)
- Amir’s, now explicit and transparent, remarks about Waqar and Misbah and their influence on the culture. He will be asked for increasingly more interviews and opinions in wake of this series and I hope he obliges
Seems like a lot of people on here either are delusional or have very little understanding of test cricket .
Pakistan are 74-3! From this position even a target of 202 would be tricky on a day 5 pitch let alone 302.
Pakistan should not go in a shell but expecting them to score 3 an over when they have barely scored 2 for the majority of the test match is being optimistic to say the least .
They need to focus on batting out the day . If they get to ambition and start chasing balls outside off stump and collapse then they will be chastised .
A credible draw will feel like a victory for them . This is a similar situation to the 2011 test match in New Zealand where misyou batted out the day to save the match .
Honestly, I hope we don't draw this one . . very defeatest mindset, I know but just the quality of cricket we played was sooo atrocious, we don't deserve to get out of this one! 70 odd runs in 55 overs . . Ridiculous captaincy . . Pathetic mindset . .
I was reading some statistics on Twitter where apparently Mount Manganui has historically become a bit easier on Day 5. Can anyone add credibility to this claim?
If Fawad and Rizwan can stay till tell tea than there is a very good chance they can save the match for Pakistan.
I say yes!
As freaky as it sounds but Fawad Alam and Azhar seem to have weathered the storm for now - just need some help from the weather
From what I am expecting on day 5 today is, it's only a matter of fall of one or two wickets, and then flood gates of disaster will open up. And all of a sudden we will be 150-8 or something.
Mamoon Ji missing from this thread. Do minnows often do this kind of thing in New Zealand? Quick someone run the numbers on that.
I think we've already shown this Romali dont need a win to show we were the superior side in NZ this year. Win might give us GOAT status in Mamoon's eyes though)
Congratulations on winning the “we stretched NZ to the last half hour unlike India” trophy, while they continue to be ranked in the top 3 while we are ranked 7.
Besides, even if we want to compare our performance with India in individual countries, we cannot look beyond the respective performances in Australia..

Was this fight enough for India when they lost chasing 365 against Australians and Kohli scoring a match losing 140? Or was it called one of the great 4th innings knocks ever? India weren't the force they were back in 2015 in tests atleast
Kohli scored a ton in both innings. He produced an impactful performance but his teammates let him down.
Had he failed in the first innings, his second innings performance would hold less value..

This is what happens when you become a minnow. You celebrate “fight” because you cannot win.
We are becoming like Bangladesh of late 2000s and early 2010s. We win hearts because we cannot win matches.
We cannot look beyond what now? Its true that Pakistan seem to have a mental block in Australia but so what. Federer never beat Nadal in the French open, is that how we should define their legacy? That we can't look beyond this little fact? Get off it, means nothing for anyone who has a shred of intelligence.
What does hold value is the simple fact that this fledgling team has already surpassed your goat morons and will continue to grow from here while you sit in a corner of your room slitting wrists. I do feel badly for you, ideally you would be able to enjoy when your team actually does well but you put yourself in this position.

Why are you feeding the Indian troll here? This is the same guy who refused to accept 36 and claimed the Laws of cricket are wrong, then he does bhangra when India won the second Test, now he's arguing over whether the match could be saved, when the match is not only over, but he didn't see a single ball of day 5.

Why is India always dragged into discussion when a Pakistani criticizes his team?
Simply because only Indians would belittle Pakistani players' achivements, like Fawad's century today. As seen in this thread.

There is another thread on Fawad Alam where a few posters have belittled his effort in this match and all of them are Pakistanis. I am yet to see an Indian on this forum criticizing Fawad.

Its hard to imagine anyone would be wanting to celebrate a losing hundred.
No one is celebrating, but most are appreciating. Barring the haters of course.
