Yeah. It is remarkable.

I think the issue is with player selection and player management. They are not selecting the right players for the right formats.

BD U-19 team won the U-19 world title. So, there are talents. But, mismanagement and corruption are not helping.

Why ICC made Group 1 so hard as compared to Group 2?

There are 2 minnow teams (Namibia and Scotland) and both are in Group 2. Would not it make sense to have 1 minnow team in each Group? This has put the teams in Group 1 on huge disadvantage. For example Sri Lanka would have been fighting for a spot in Semi-final if it was in Group 2.

Bangladesh was expected to top their group in the qualifying stages and be part of group 2. However, they lost to Scotland and ended up in the second spot and joined group 1.

Bangladesh and Ireland were supposed to be in group 2, instead namibia leapfrogged ireland and scotland got an upset over Bangladesh. Afg were higher placed in the rankings than SL, so it had to be 5 to 3 rather than 4 to 4 + 2 qualifiers each.
