Its foolish to keep KP out of the team

Burned too many bridges to make a comeback ever again. Don't think he has one player who would support him remaining in the dressing-room now.

No atmosphere in Aussie ODI's now, they should look to move games to smaller grounds.

Having 5,000 show up to a ground which can take up to 60,000+ is poor.

60/5, with games like this, you can't blame fans for not turning up (be it working hours).

Everyone is just going to go to the world cup matches instead.

But I actually agree.

ODIs still do great on TV but we should move matches to Canberra, Newcastle, Hobart, Geelong, Gold Coast etc

Crappy batting from Eng. Wicket doesn't have much for bowlers and they are falling like pack of cards.

Chill dude. No need to bring up your upcoming loss to Pakistan in all this.

What part of my original statement did you not understand?

What has bounce got to do with anything in this match? It has all been down to swing bowling up until now.

Well we have beaten english team 3-1 in ODIs in England. Despite having Anderson in their team, they couldn't do anything against us. And against we have won Champions Trophy in England, shows that our batsman are better than english batsman atleast in ODIs against swing bowling.

Sorry Convict, but 55 wickets in 58 matches is very poor for a spinner anywhere. Lyon should have been preferred.

His job isn't really to take wickets.

It's to bowl 10 overs quickly and economically when we want to select a spinner (instead of just using Maxwell/Smith which we will in most games anyway).

Lyon's done nothing to suggest he's any better at limited overs level anyway

So when we beat you in that series in India, did that mean that our batsmen were better than yours at playing swing bowling? When the English beat you in India, does that mean that their batsmen were better at playing spin?

As I said we have won two back to back odi series there. 1)champions Trophy 2)Bilateral against England. So that can't be just luck. You can be lucky in one series, but it can't happen twice. Again coming back to that series, where you won against us, I think your bowlers were superb. Those conditions are very rare in india, and we didnt had any swing bowler except Bhuvi, to exploit those conditions. some one like zaheer. But I am not taking anything away from your team, you guys were brilliant.

Regarding England, yes Cook definitely a better player of spin and they had better spinners Swann+monty who were comfotably better than Ashwin+ojha on those pitches.

So he's your Nathan McCullum?

Over some years but everyone is also just saving up for the world cup

It's not just this series, I've noticed it for a while now.

Near empty grounds for pretty much every ODI fixture.

Bilateral or Tri series before the World Cup, is such a no no. Too many ODI's before the WC, no wonder people are losing interest in ODI's. That's why football WC draws enormous crowds.

Cricket is played among the same countries, so a break was needed. Aussies will face India or England in the Quarter finals anyway, so little interest will be there as countless odis are being played right before the WC.

South Africa vs West Indies ODI series, going on, they'll face each other next month.

Kiwis vs Srilanka going on and their match is on Valentine's day. Pointless ODI matches.

if these countries didn't play each other for a long time, the interest would have been greater.

This is a warmup series

I am just checking the scores, don't feel like watching it. Saving it for the World Cup, so I can understand why stadiums are empty. :inzi

You are right, not just this series. Crowds have been declining for a while, too many meaningless games.

Aussies have been sluggish in the field in the Test series against India, dropped more catches than India. Quite unusual. Need a better fielding coach.

So far two dropped catches, Haddin and Dohety.

Just got home to Boston after. 24 hour flight to see the Paddy hundred. Good knock under the circumstances from the Paddy

Why blame the fielding coach? Wasn't the fielding coach that dropped the catches. The players need to do better.

Lol Stuart Broad being booed, after commies said he would be forgiven.

Or u start fresh as its a new game?

England 234

how's the wicket playing..... will it be the easy run chase??

It won't be the easiest run chase but at the same time they shouldn't have too many problems with it if they don't play like blouses.

Finch again proving himself to be an agricultural hack who's managed a few good scores by some fluke

Finch is everything I don't like to see in batsman. Everything.

I refuse to rate him.

Rohan: "The difference in bowling is very much evident. Australian bowlers hardly bowled a bad ball in their first powerplay. England bowlers are bowling one bad ball every 4!"

Australia require another 171 runs with 9 wickets and 39.0 overs remaining

The Aussies will walk this. Just not enough runs by England again.

England 234

Australia 72/2 (13.3 ov)

Australia require another 163 runs with 8 wickets and 36.3 overs

with warner at the crease.... Aussies can still go for a bonus point here
