Southern Punjab

First XI – Shan Masood (captain), Hussain Talat (vice-captain), Aamir Yamin, Ali Shafiq, Bilawal Bhatti, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ilyas, Mohammad Irfan, Rahat Ali (subject to fitness), Saif Baddar, Sohaib Maqsood, Umer Khan, Umar Siddiq Khan, Zahid Mehmood and Zeeshan Ashraf (wicketkeeper).

Central Punjab without some of their big heavy weights but it would be good to see some youngsters like Abdullah Shafique and Qasim Akram in the batting.

Once Hussain Talat was considering a very good Batsman.

He can be useful at 4 in ODI.

SP win the toss and bat.

Does Irfan Khan Niazi bowl? Otherwise it’s incredibly stupid for CP to go in with only the two frontline pacers.

I was hoping that it was live on YouTube or something but apparently not so cannot watch it.

If SP can dismiss CP's top order cheaply, there's very little batting strength left frankly.

No Zafar Gohar is also shocking unless he's injured.

Bilal Asif's first ball of the tournament dispatched for six. Lovely straight hit.

Shan should replace fakhar in ODI'S who has turned out to be a nothing batsman.
Shan's List A stats are way too impressive to keep him out of an average side like ours

Shan has a very clean bat swing

Gotta admire how Shan's reinvented himself. Pigeonholed as a FC and LA cricketer, he's now learning the art of T20 batting. One of the few Pakistani cricketers to understand use of data and analytics too.

Another great shot through the off-side now.

Why did they have Qasim Akram bowling in the power play rather than the more experienced Bilal Asif?

Good ball from Qadir. Shan has really improved his power game.

Why did they have Qasim Akram bowling in the power play rather than the more experienced Bilal Asif?

I think they wanted someone to skid the new ball into the wickets and pads, Bilal's action is more for the side spin but definitely a worth asking question.

He actually wasn’t as bad as stats suggest. In between the pies there were some quite good deliveries. I guess captain gave him too much confidence, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t.

Definitely, should have been Bilal Asif. Even Naseem could have bowled one or two.

Hoping for one more wicket to fall so I can watch Khushdil and then maybe Badar :yawn

I don't know why Hussain Talat wasn't given a longer run in international cricket, especially when the likes of Shoaib Malik keep making a return.

Dat South Punjab batting line up tho.... Quite strong!

Did Imran Khan Niazi pick this Irfan Khan Niazi guy? He is completely useless.

Yeah every Khan Niazi is a direct selection from Imran Khan obviously he doesn't have anything better to do.

Pata nahi kahan kahan se oth kar ajatay hain jahil.

Still not convinced about Khushdil Shah against pace. No doubt he can hit the spinners a long way.

Sohaibullah's had a tidy game so far.

Nice reverse sweep ! Hussain Talat is playing a gem, but gets out next ball.

Very useful runs from Talat, Masood and Maqsood. Now can Saif and Yamin capitalize and go for that final push.

Man if only Aamer Yamin had an extra yard of pace. No doubts about his batting ability, taking Naseem Shah to the cleaners here.

Naseem Shah is not even close to being the finished article. He needs to play a lot more domestic cricket and learn the skill of setting up batsmen.

Good yorker from Naseem. He took a beating in that over, that's the end of Badar.

Hats off to CP coach for picking alot of youngsters.

Lets see how abdullah shafiq performs

Central Punjab's bowling line up is poor.

They need to bring one more pacer.

Naseem Shah going at 10 RPO lmaoo

This is the kid we have all our hopes on. Good luck Pakistan

Why are they using so shortened boundaries.45-50m probably. Not going to help either batters or bowlers or even fielders.
Shan Masood played pretty good shots regardless which would have fetched him sixes and fours in normal boundaries as well.
Usman Qadir bowled better than I had expected. His conventional leg break generates quite a lot of spin, quite more than shadab.

Abdullah Shafique is looking technically pretty solid till now

Abdullah shafique looks class already i said it first dont care if he flops in 20 20 but i can see the talent inshallah for longer formats

Shafiques backlift and bat flow looks good for stroke play as well. Good to see young batsman are adapting the modern techniques like Haider as well also has a pretty good backlift.

A very attractive and correct strokemaker.
Will be in the side within a year InshaAllah.

Shafique is impressive. Top defense against good balls and easily puts the bad balls away.

Can’t find a stream anymore, everything’s been shut down :(

Been waiting to watch Abdullah all month :facepalm

Century on FC debut and 50 on T20 debut form Abdullah Shafique

Hafeez just tweeted:

Abdullah Shafique batting Technique & his process to score runs so far is 😍 #NationalT20Cup

He looks so assured at the crease. No way can yoi tell this is a debut game.

Another bobby? Can he be top tier? I think we need to threw these lads in like we threw in naseem and shaheen.

Zeeshan Malik
Haider Ali
Abdullah Shafiq

Looking good for future

Ramiz saying he is awestruck looking at the talent of Abdullah Shafique :ua

I think it will be too early to judge bowlers and batters on this flat pitch.....but yes u need to posses the gift of timing and shot making.......
Haider...
Zeeshan
Maqsood
Abdullah....

All have gr8 potential....

Most I have impressed from a young Pakistani batsman since a long time along with maybe Haider. Outstanding stuff from Shafique

This has been an innings, pure class. Doesn't look like a Pakistani batsmen (think Akmal, Shehzad, or any other bar Babar of late) and shades of Kohli in his onside flicks.

And the most impressive thing of all, uptill now hasn't had any urge to smash everything 10 miles high or go the other extreme and do the classic block block slog. Proper batting.
