Yes I want him to perform. I want all Pakistani players to perform when they are selected.

Yes he is a GOAT and cult hero internationally and domestically. When he gets going he straight up mauls bowlers. He in the last world cup played one of the best T20 knocks by a Pakistani in a pressure game against India. It should have been a match winning one.

The legend of Iftikhar has captivated audiences worldwide and will continue to do so until he decides to retire.

2012 India is probably the weakest Indian team of all time lol.

Their playing with aged players who are put of it. They don't have any batter besides Dhoni and their kohli was playing with injuries and was a burnt corpse. Kphli got injured for so an entire season after that tour. He didn't come back until his 2013 prime galore.

It's the same with 2021. Pakistan was dealing with an injured side where Bumrah, and multiple players vanished into the abyss for 2 years before their 2023 return.

But 2012 is even weaker then 2021, because 2012 india doesn't even have proper spinners or anything really, it's a burnt corpse of a team, no wonder all those bros got discarded for an entirely new team in 2013 except kohli, Dhoni and bhuvi.

As captain his role to ascend a mediocre team as competitive LOs and a great Test team.

As coach his gift to Pakistan Cricket in form of Rizwan.

I feel all you guys make such silly comments because Misbah replaced afridi and didn't walk out, so people give him credit for salman butt nonsense.

- took a no 1 ranked t20 side that had a record of 29 wins and only 3 losses to ranked no 7.

As soon as he took over Pakistan lost 5 on the dot giving sarfraz a record of 29 wins and 8 losses before sacking sarfi and appointing babar.

- After that Pakistan had losses to Zimbabwe and had lost every series besides the Zimbabwe one, he deserved a sack before 2021 t20 wc lol.

During his tenure as coach and chief selector in t20 we got

- Shehzad and akmal come back out of the blue
- Muhammad irfan come back from a retirmwnt home
- Kushdil shah, Chacha, Asif, Shadab and Nawaz middle to lower order.

We have a babar and rizwan opening combo or currently a top order combo, and where has that gotten us?

Misbah even suggested saim should open and even that flopped?

Don't get me started on his reign as captain in Whiteball cricket.

If misbah becomes chairman then Pakistan becomes a decent test side but odi and t20 side will have us booted to associate nation tag. We'll never even get the chance to compete in future CT's or heck if future world cups go back to top 10 formats, then expect Pakistan to get booted put of the qualifiers, we'll get the west Indies treatment.

As a captain, overall he was tolerable - his white ball cricket is balanced out by his doing a fine job in test cricket. We had some big test moments under his tenure and the ODI highs were ok too at times. I am a big fan of his test exploits in the UAE.

As a coach/official, he set us back big time.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that can see why anyone who claims that "Pakistan beating prime India in 2012" doesn't have a shred of credibility.

I've never seen anyone claim 2012 is prime India tbh? Heck even Indian supporters were saying that 2013 India was needed as an overhaul.

They replaced their entire team in 2013.

Every ton dick and Harry in India was talking about why the transition didn't take place in 2012 and took place in 2013? All of India predicted Pakistan would win since this team was really just a minnow. This team was so bad that kohli was bowling lol.

Yes they are highs for Pakistan.

We have only won a few Asia Cups and nobody expected us to smash India in their backyard.

That’s ridiculous. Why was Alistair Cook not a part of England’s resurgence as a white ball cricket nation? Why was Broad and Anderson not a part of this white ball resurgence too?

A rubbish white ball leader+cricketer is a rubbish white ball leader+cricketer. There is no such thing as ‘balancing it out’.

Fakhar is Pakistan’s GOAT modern white ball batter, does that balance it out for him in Test cricket having not played the format? Yasir Shah recently was Pakistan’s premier red ball spinner with 200+ Test wickets…the guy can’t land the ball in white ball cricket in proper channels, and he can’t secure a T20 franchise contract anywhere even though Leg Spinners are top demand. You don’t just balance out things for the sake of it.

The Pakistan national team was a torture under Misbah and Waqar from 2013-2015. It was a torturous, bizarre and even more ridiculous team under Misbah’s leadership as a coach 2019. Pakistan as a white ball nation to this day is suffering because of his decisions that he made out of spite and desi toxic nature. There are cancers that have festered in this team because of his directorship. The damage this man has done cannot be repaired.

In terms of overall legacy yes they can be balanced out when analysing the past career imo.

If we look at the overall legacy of Cook and Fakhar we take everything into account....but we wouldn't base selection decisions on it when they are currently playing.

It's rare for someone to say overall test legacy or overall odi legacy for historic players. For a cross format player/captain you need to look at the whole picture imo.

I'm not, I saw the series full time. If that Indian team was a goated side, Kohli wouldn't be bowling, half the team wouldn't have been discarded. Kohli wouldn't have gotten injured and yuvi wouldn't have been sent back to a hospital bed, 90% of the bowling Unit wouldn't have been discarded besides shami and bhuvi.

Infact this squad lost to bamgaldesh as it was mostly being carried to Sachin and fit kohli at the time, and Dhoni ofcourse

Whether pakistani fans expected it or not is irrelevant to what Indian fans and what bcci expected.

As for asia cup, Pakistan should count its lucky stars that Bangladesh managed to get rid of India for em lol. Problem with 2012 India in Asia cup is that if you manage to get rid of kohli and Sachin, their done for, since they don't have a middle order and their one opener is a waking wicket. Meaning they would always be 1 down in the PP regardless.

Alastair cook is a forgetten face in England. People hardly remember him besides die hard test fans.

Misbah is a forgetten face in the world, only PP and misbah clique remember him.

Babar will probs be remembered maybe, due to stat sheet inflation.

Misbah is basically a ramiz raja, forgetten legacies but due to media stuff such as ramiz being considered a commentator and misbah getting coach gigs or other stuff he stays somewhat relevant

He doesn't have a legacy unfortunately. Defo not one outside of Pakistan like inzi, Zaheer, miandad or heck even babar have. Inran Khan, sarfraz Ahmed and YK have a legacy cemented for icc victoires and again stat sheet names as sarfraz is on top for t20 W/L ratio with babar being at top for most t20 wins.

Misbah is a forgetten cricketer. He's just remembered by you guys for some reason. Logically people should let be talking about Misbah, it should be Misbah Who? By now.

Nope. I celebrated 2017. I only celebrate icc tournaments. I don't really pay a heed to asia cups or bilateral.

I did celebrate the 10 wicket win against India in 2021 though even if it was by Babar Adam's reign and I celebrated the Sri lanka record chase. Irrespective of context its a record chase going in history books.

Edit; I did celebrate test rank 1 as well tbh.

I watched the series? Game 1 and game 3? I switched the TV off for game 2 as I found YK and Azhar batting a yawn?

I did enjoy junaid's bowling though. I switched it on for that. It was fun to watch.

I did enjoy junaid's bowling and I enjoyed bits and pieces but like I didn't care and jump in joy over a bilateral? I've never done that besides Ct 2017? Although I was extremely gleeful when 2021 Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets. That moqa moqa song needed to end, it was annoying.

I enjoy the game yes, but I'm not die hard pakistani fan. Infact I think Rana is probably happy I'm not, since me not being a die hard Pakistani fans allows me to see things beyond the lens of misbah/ Babar and just talk about what occurred and what didn't lol.

On that day when Pakistan won the aano do series topdim celebrated so hard that he fell and hurt his head badly. It's why he is now internationally known as topdim.

He blames Misbah for this.

It's good that he has friends like you to help him through his trauma.

- That's AlrightE. I have had numerous calm conversations with people like ridiculousman (Yes that's his pp name lol) and 160kph etc etc. Even though they completly disagree with me all the time.

You all are free to celebrate 100%.

But the reason I bring this up is because the poster I'm speaking to, our first few interactions involved him ganging up on me with major and getting personal on my profession as a graphic designer etc. Because I questioned the relevancy of misbah holding a degree on cricket? Its the same with hafeez, him holding an engineering degree doesn't really make a difference or him better suited to handle the director of cricket job, although hafeez isn't bad at it, his degree isn't relevant here.

Similarly these topdim and these snide remarks.

During my PoTW post, This misbah clique ganged up on me with snide remarks such as " Must have been a slow week" or " Looks like the standards of PP have fallen"

I am not specifically mentioning you here but for last 2-3 years, there's been too much toxicity on PP. People will start ganging up on others' opinions if they aren't in line with theirs.
It's been more like PTI vs PDM than Pak Cricket team for last few years on here.

I thought we were past that and I think it is time for you to let that go. I stand by every word that I wrote in that thread. Trust me there was nothing personal against you and I explained everything in detail. I should have replied to your potw in the actual thread where you first wrote that post, not the one where mods awarded that post as POTW. Please accept my sincere apologies for the mistake I made and I promise to be careful of making such mistakes in future.

What is his portfolio now that he has been appointed coach of a national team?
 
Pakistan cricket is getting worse every year, for any new player, selector or official associated to their cricket just need be be prepared to face criticism when they are in tenure as has to how inferior they compared to their predecessors and when they are removed they just have to dish it to the ones coming in next as to how superior they are compared to the new ones.
 
Our girls don’t have any future just as our boys. PC. Is just wasting money on these girls. They just don’t have it. If they insist let them play some exhibition matches no international.
