CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz launches country’s 1st ever Suthra Punjab program

this is response to your second article 4 months after that article Mariam Nawaz has also looked into the farming industry

Nice I just hope in end it bears fruits instead of being just an optic exercise.

do you think she has some sort of magic wand and everything is going to fall in place? i thought you were better than that.
its not even been a year

so care to share what imran khan did for development in his first year other than acting like a cheap badmash

The farmers have been destroyed by the disastrous policies of these thugs. Naqvi and co stole 80bn. Why wasn't this investigated.

Where did you get 1 year from?

The Nooras have had the longest reign since Ranjit Singh. This family has ruled Punjab since the early 80s with only the Mush break and 3.5 years of PTI.

@The Bald Eagle

You still haven’t responded about the air pollution project that’s about to start, even though you initially expressed concern.
One minute you’re worried, but the moment I show you something is being done, you choose to ignore it? What’s that about?

You mean the time back in November when Punjab was wrapped in Smog and Maryam & her entourage went to Europe to have fresh air..🤔. Anyways what about collaboration with Indian Punjab and how their CM responded? And of the project with Chinese tbh the progress on CPEC is before us. So best wishes but no need to beat drums before any success I guess.

@The Bald Eagle moving forward

What exactly do you expect the current CM of punjab to do? Sit back and do nothing? They are already working on several development projects across punjab, making efforts to improve infrastructure and address key issues. Or is your criticism just coming from a place of sour grapes because imran khan isnt leading the government?

and what imran khan did in KPK does not benefit me in anyway i dont think i will be ever traveling to that part of the country

Since @emranabbas is so keen on doing a comparison with PTI let's look at what PTI did in Punjab

-Sehat Sahulat Program to provide health insurance to underpriviledged families across the province
-Insaaf Medicine Card to assist patients suffering from chronic diseases and provide free medicines for eligible individuals
-Universities: new universities established across Punjab to expand higher education
-Five year education policy aimed to enroll approximately 4.8 million out-of-school children in Punjab
-Nishtar Hospital Phase 2 in Multan
-Dual-Carriageway from Dera Ghazi Khan to Muzaffargarh
-Lahore Ring Road Development
-Ehsaas Program
-10 billion Tree Tsunami project which was an initiative Punjab was part of not just KPK

Here is a source that highlights key development projects that were initiated under PTI

So, first, you were complaining about the smog, and now that Maryam has taken steps to address it, you're still complaining?
so what do you want her to do? please be clear

@emranabbas action speaks louder than words. But unfortunately so far we are witnessing the opposite. Do conduct a poll anywhere in Punjab and you will find the truth

Simple she needs to show up with performance not MOUs. Hope you are getting my simple point.

I couldn’t care less about what PTI did—they're history and will never come back into power.

It’s you who seems to have issues with this development, but all you do is talk without anything to back it up.

Why have you dodged all my posts? Don’t talk to me until you respond to them

Do you believe in elections? If you do then on what basis do you make this prediction. You keep telling us you know little about politics and then the mask slips and the paid troll shines like a polished

Why do you expect all these projects to be wrapped up in a single day? Do you honestly think she can just snap her fingers, and suddenly everything is completed? These kinds of projects go through a detailed process, from planning and approvals to implementation and execution. It takes time to ensure everything is done properly, with all the necessary resources in place. You can’t expect instant results when it comes to large-scale development—things need to progress step by step.

Yes, you’ve made your point. No need to talk big if you can’t back it up, and then dodge questions and run away when challenged.
I'm sorry, which question did I dodge? I don't sit here all day keeping track of all your posts. If you think I missed responding to a post worth responding to, please mention the post number and I'll reply when I get around to it.

Go to the last page after you left your response, I replied to you on 2 or 3 different posts, and you didn’t respond to any of them. You left the discussion hanging, and now you’re back trying to start a new one with me.

Bear in mind, this was just under 3 years of leadership despite many hurdles created by PMLN and internal conflicts. Goes to show the ambition of the man and the good he wants to do for the country despite lacking severely in political acuman
And lest we forget the pandemic, the once in lifetime pandemic that brought pandemonium to the World and IK dealt with like it was just another day at the office.

Oh, maybe you should go all the way back to the first post of the thread and see who started it. But hey, I’m sure I’ll get some genius response like, "I haven’t got time for that." Classic.

A broader discussion would involve talking about development in line with the thread's title.

Why not share some of the development achieved during Imran Khan’s tenure instead of resorting to insults and accusations of corruption, especially when there are already threads dedicated to that topic?

PTI is a thing of the past. After 14 years, an 86-year-old Imran Khan won’t be running any governments he’ll be lucky if he’s even around and its nothing rude about it.

Guys please continue the debate with good spirit and steer away from personal references

You have rolled back because you didn't think through what you said. What you said was that Junta would keep you in power without elections.

But he was in jail in February and he smashed you. Not only him, Dr Yasmin smashed your Noora and The girls beat all your other leaders

The problem you have is that you're already starting from a pretty low position, the depth of the sewers, and have just made yourself you an even bigger fool... I suppose we should comment you for that

@The Bald Eagle The smog towers you requested have already arrived, and the initial tests have produced fantastic results, showing they are effective in tackling air pollution. These towers are expected to be installed in Lahore shortly, and once operational, they should significantly improve air quality. This should help address the very issue of smog and pollution that you were concerned about, bringing much-needed relief and cleaner air to the city.

This thread perfectly illustrates why discussing the economy with PMLN supporters is a waste of time. They have no understanding of what true prosperity entails.

Constructing new buildings and markets is not a measure of a healthy economy, it’s merely an illusion for narrow minded individuals to boast about.

Is this thread about the economy or development? Or has someone linked development to an improved economy?

PTI supporters seem to struggle with understanding issues and lack common sense, which explains their support for PTI.

Then what it is about? Lol

It's a great project, there is no need to badmouth someone just for the sake of it unless you actually live there and are aware of the ground realties.
Also this is a myth that most Pakistanis don’t have a license. Unlike @KingKhanWC, Ive been living in Pakistan since the day I was born and I could count on 2 fingers the amount of people I’ve met driving without a license. His comment reeks of the usual casual superiority complex that immigrants have about their original home countries.

If Pakistan was just one province I could understand that POV. But it's not, a PM of a country has to look after every province, not just Punjab, or KPK for that matter.

You sound like some of my relatives in Punjab who think everything should revolve around their district only. Except they actually live in Pakistan and you don't.

But it is to do with your desire to worship the Sharifs. Once again on what basis did you say the PTI will never come back into power. Let's here your common sense answer 🤣🤣🤣

OK but should the locals have a say. Because your friend @emranabbas doesn't believe in those either.
If you do, then why is the crook CM when she didn't even her own seat.
Look, all I stated was that I have been a hardcore PTI supporter since my early teens. Did the whole shabang - attended the dharnas, the jalsas, voted for PTI in all elections that I could vote, protested when IK got removed, again when he got arrested.

But I also live in Pakistan and have my entire life - and I can tell you, the current government, for whatever reason, is providing a lot more stability than Pakistan has had in a long time. I don't know if I even credit to PMLN or PPP as much as I credit it to Naqvi and the army.

But as soon as I said this, fellow PTI supporters themselves started chatting rubbish. And classist things like "nobody in Pakistan has a license" and all that bull makes me realize that overseas Pakistanis shouldn't have a say in Pakistani politics because they have zilch understanding of the system. What do you think Pakistan is lmao? How do you think the country is running if something as little as people being required to have licenses isn't being enforced? The ignorance is infuriating and disappointing. You guys (not you personally) literally are not better than the goras who think Pakistan is some sort of desert. Actually, on that note, met some British tourists in Pakistan the other day who loved it and they said exactly what I'm saying right now - Pakistanis they knew back in the UK (like the ones on this sub who think nobody in Pakistan has a license lmfao aka @KingKhanWC @Cpt. Rishwat) were the ones who said negative things about Pakistan or how "undeveloped" it was. Their own experience was far, far better and surprising.

How many have actually taken a test.
Again, your ignorance and superiority complex is blatantly obvious. Perhaps the 1% of the 1% don't take the tests because they have connections but do you think the vast majority of people are able to have connections in government offices?

Marium nawaz is not the PM she's a CM of Punjab so her duties are only in Punjab

The CM of KPK Ali Amin Gandapur who from PTI it's his job is to look at matters in KPK

You pathans are more than welcome to create a thread about Ali Amim Ganapur and discuss developments in KPK you won't see me in that thread

But instead you pti people are coming in this thread sulking your eyes out

I say overseas Pakistanis shouldn’t have a say in politics in Pakistan. They don’t know anything about ground realities. Goes for people on both ends like @emranabbas and @KingKhanWC
I’m not interested in Pakistan’s politics. The hate I’m receiving is simply because I highlighted this development, and opposition supporters are acting like sore losers by attacking me.

In the past, I’ve criticised the 9th May chaos on the streets, which was far from a civilised act and would have criticised if it was done by any other party.

Now, just because I’ve called out both the good and the bad, PTI supporters keep tagging me in political posts.

This behaviour is only pushing me towards disliking the PTI party, even though I’m not affiliated with any other political group. Upon researching, I’ve discovered that PTI is heavily supported by Pashtuns, who are often regarded as lacking sense. These are the same Pashtuns who brought national shame to Pakistan by harbouring Bin Laden in KPK, and they continue to import terrorism from Afghanistan. As a result, my dislike is only growing stronger.

Its is very evident for their overly agressive behaviour on this forum.

Even in the OP article Maryam is attacking the PTI, and you have done the same.

I already said in my first response in this thread that I like the basic premise of cleaning up Punjab. But unless Pujab is solely responsible for funding such operations, then it is a national concern where the money spent is coming from. There are three other provinces in Pakistan and all of them will have similar needs.

This is exactly what I’m referring to. Even though you’re a PTI supporter, I believe someone is being aggressive towards you simply because you hold a different opinion. I’m not aware of the discussion in question, as I’ve blocked the person you’re engaging with and can’t see their posts.

Read my post again because, like your fellow PTI supporters, you clearly have some reading issues.

The other three provinces have their own Chief Ministers, and it’s their responsibility to address matters. Interestingly, KPK also has its own Chief Minister from PTI.

Why don’t you create a thread to highlight what the PTI Chief Minister is doing for KPK?

Man, give me your evidence. Everyone I know, and I know a lot of people, took the test. When you go to school and you're about to turn 18, you talk to your friends about whether they got their licenses. I was friends with some very wealthy and well-connected people, and they took the test. So, you are just talking out of your behind my friend.

I was in Pakistan last year, and even my driver was stopped multiple times for spot checks during my stay. He was asked to show his licence, and once they saw it, we were allowed to go.

Some people seem to think Pakistan is still stuck in the 90s, but I dare say certain areas, like Defence Phase 6 in Lahore, are more modernised than parts of the UK.

I did create the thread but the actual post was something else and the mod deleted that and added their own posts

I think it's you with the reading issues. I asked where the funding for such projects were coming from twice now and you have ignored both times. If it's the national treasury, then it's all four provinces paying for it. Same goes for money spent anywhere of course, but does that mean there is plenty of money rattling around in Pakistan coffers to clean up the whole country?

There are many parts of Pakistan that are far better than the UK. I have been to the UK to watch some cricket in the past and frankly, it was incredibly underwhelming and borderline disgusting where Asians normally live. This is why I am appalled by the superiority complex that British Pakistanis (and overseas Pakistanis in general) have when it comes to Pakistan. I'm not talking about you personally but the vast majority of these British Pakistanis are in much worse condition than we are here.

I speak for many Pakistanis living in Pakistan, we don't claim you lot. No wonder Elon is after you guys.

I completely agree with you. Most Pakistanis in the UK live in 2- or 3-bedroom houses in run-down areas. In comparison, some of the societies developed in Pakistan are far better than most parts of the UK.

The last time I visited Defence Raya in Lahore, it felt like a completely different world.

There’s also an abundance of natural beauty in places like Naran Kaghan abd surrounding areas

The sense of superiority complex often comes from the conversion of pounds to rupees due to pounds being a strong currency but when it comes to lifestyle, the UK doesn’t compare to the quality of life in Pakistan.

Good to hear someone agreeing. I will give you an example from my personal life. I went to school in Islamabad and it is the closest big city near Mirpur so a lot of UK Mirpuris ended up in Islamabad for their kids schooling.

I swear these kids and their parents had such crazy superiority complex despite being clearly uncultured and largely paindu. They even had the guts to come to Pakistan and then refer to Pakistani kids as "freshies".

But nevertheless, I am happy to see that there are people like you who see this. I obviously shouldn't generalize and I'm sure there are some great British people of Pakistani origin but I've met so many with a superiority complex that it has left a very sour taste.

Again, your ignorance and superiority complex is blatantly obvious. Perhaps the 1% of the 1% don't take the tests because they have connections but do you think the vast majority of people are able to have connections in government offices?
That pretty silly take and I do take exception with this.

The poster you are referring to is not ignorant, he's a patriot who cares about the country and its people, all of them.

Just like others too and how can you or anyone else either a decent character, moral compass, a soul even try and debate the merits of the current government?

Read this paragraph again^

It's not about whether you are with IK/PTi, it's about standing up for crooks who have destroyed the country and neglected two hundred million people that are struggling just to live...

Doesn't make you wonder what sort of people actually support these crooks let alone try and defend even one or two good projects they've done for the country or just a single Provence?

Again, I'm going to ask you to cite some evidence for the assertion that the majority of Pakistanis don't have driver's licenses or that if they do, these are fraudulently procured. If you cannot provide me with statistical evidence to support this theory, and I know that you won't be able to, your claims and as well as the previous poster's, reek of the superiority complex that overseas Pakistanis have. Let me take a guess, you are an overseas Pakistani too?

I am actually surprised at how lowly some of you think of Pakistan. I'm sure you have great intentions for Pakistan but to actually think that Pakistan is some sort of gang run banana republic where people don't even have drivers licenses and if someone does, this has been procured illegally, is appalling. I will bet you that the most notorious of Indian posters on this forum (@cricketjoshila) does not even have these kind of views about Pakistan.

I agree with your reference To Mirpur culture.

We face many issues in the UK because of communities like that. Jahaliyat is vast in them

I agree with your reference To Mirpur culture.

Unfortunately, this is common knowledge. However, I might add that this superiority complex is not reserved to Mirpuris or British Pakistanis in general. I have found even the most patriotic of overseas Pakistanis around the world to generally express a superior attitude towards Pakistanis.

Let me give you an example, I was in Europe for new years recently. I went to a Pakistani restaurant to eat food. A Pakistani family that had come from LA started talking to us - they were surprised that I had come from Pakistan and said some pretty ridiculous things about Pakistan that reeked of a superiority complex towards Pakistan and Pakistanis even though they were generally quite nice people.

Oh my goodness
You want evidence of people obtaining a driving licence without actually having taken lessons or a test??

I only came at you because you called out that certain poster who actually happens to be sincere either pretty much every topic he discusses, whether it's cricket or Politics.

On the other hand you're high fiving a poster who said this:-

Why not share some of the development achieved during Imran Khan’s tenure instead of resorting to insults and accusations of corruption, especially when there are already threads dedicated to that topic?

couldn’t care less about what PTI did—they're history and will never come back into power.

I'm sure @KingKhanWC is a great poster. I have been on this forum for over a decade and have found him to be a good poster who defends Pakistan. However, it is also true that he and some other overseas posters on this forum have some pretty messed up views about Pakistan and Pakistanis living in Pakistan. I have noticed this from him before as well. To a Pakistani living in Pakistan, this will come across as a superiority complex because of how wrong some of these views are.

I don’t mean to generalise either, but UK Mirpuris tend to have a similar attitude here in the UK as well.

Back to the topic, most UK Pakistanis never really cared about who was running the government in Pakistan. Their main concern was seeing Pakistan progress and develop. However, this trend of supporting political parties only began during Imran Khan’s time, and it’s now turning into an unhealthy obsession and breeding hate amongst communities.

If these projects were initiated by Imran Khan in Punjab, I would praise him as well. As someone visiting Pakistan from the UK, my primary concern is development, ensuring a comfortable stay with all the necessary facilities and attractions for tourists like myself. I don’t feel the need to get into the finer details since I’m not a citizen of the country.

There were some great initiatives during Imran Khan's era as well - the billion tree tsunami and the Health Card to mention a few. However, the army did not allow him to govern proper given the constant opposition from 3 ends. During this current, the army is itself a lot more involved and any opposition has been brutally beaten down.

As much as I hate this sort of quietening of voices, at the end of the day, I live in this country and I care a lot more about stability and people being able to live than the moral high ground of the army freeing up Imran or allowing perfect democracy. So, I am happy to see the stability that has come.

I completely understand that the health card is something that would benefit the people of Pakistan, and I appreciate that Imran Khan has done something for the public. However, as a British Pakistani, neither I nor any of my family members would ever use it.

My interest in development stems from the fact that, rather than taking my family on holiday to places like Dubai or Turkey, I would prefer to bring them to Pakistan where they can stay connected with their culture,

as I’m a fourth-generation Pakistani in the UK. If the country were developed to the standards of the europe , and I could establish a business there, I would be the first to leave the UK and move to Pakistan.

You will often get a lot of people from other parts of Pakistan complaining about Mirpur with similar issues, we have the same here. My family is from Punjab, we still have extensive family back there. They share your views about paindus and uncultured people from that region, it's not uncommon. So superiority complex seems to work both ways, I tend to stay away from dissing other communities.

But you are right, a lot of British Pakistanis tend to come from rural backgrounds and arrive without much qualification, so they will end up in run down areas which aren't very appealing. But guess what...where do you think Mirpur is? It's Pakistan. So when you are criticising British Pakistanis, it's the Pakistani part you are really criticising right?
