Nice to see New Zealand produce such a scary opening batter. Hope he continues the good work. He seems more dangerous than Brendon Mccullum.

Guptill and Munro - Cricket's Bludgeon Brothers shaz619 reddevil

I remember there was a thread on him last time Pak toured Nz. "how do you breed such brutality?" was the question asked in the thread referring to Munro. Lol and its true. This guy can murder bowling attacks especially on a flat track.

The amount of talent South Africa have lost in the last decade is unreal.

New Zealand is starting to become the new expat XI; Wagner, Raval, Munro.

Several batsmen are there like this.

The main thing is confidence in self to keep batting like this.

And the other thing is to not have fools in charge who either don't select such players or ruin their confidence and try and change their games.

Great effort by Munro. Looking forward to Pakistans bowling plans vs. him.

A bit offtopic, Aman why hasn't this guy played much test cricket? He averages nearly 52 at a strike rate of 99.

Transforming himself to a legendary hack which is a great thing as far as T20s goes.

The guy doesn't have it in him to make it to test cricket though. Even in odis, when he is at crease he always gives a vibe of throwing his wicket at any time.

He has got 0% temperament. Bats like Afridi.

Munro is giving license to go after the bowlers . Kiwis back there lower order to bat .

Pakistan need to invest in such players . Umar Akmal opening the innings with fakhar. They will not click every time , but even if they do 2 games out of 5 , you are likely to win those two games. The middle order has to be strong to absorb pressure . This was the same way Lanka won 96 WC.

In semi final and Final , they lost openers early , yet the middle order played well.

That is why he averages over 50 with a SR of 99.

Where and how? He has played only 1 test and scored 15 runs at average of 7.5.

Anyways, I dont find him a test material at all.He bats like a hack. He is NZ Afridi although Afridi was one of the most entertaining players to watch and underachieved.

He also averages 27 only in odis.

The other poster and I were referring to his FC stats.

No one cares about Tests in this conversation.

He is a world-class white ball player.

I was referring to a post on whether he should be included in test side. I didnt brought tests here.

He is average in ODI too till now but can do well given the way ODI format has changed across these years.

He is a great t20 bat however. His performance speaks for that.

I dont really follow NZ FC stats. So I cant really say much on that. I just dont think he will work for tests because he plays lots of rash shots at times. Till what I have seen of him,he doesn't have the temperament and patience to survive longer.

It is to be seen whether he can change that or not.

Fair enough then. Must have missed that. Sorry.

Same here, but looking at those stats you won't write him off or do it at your own peril.

The selectors are probably not being convinced with his technique.

His home ground in domestic cricket is notriously flat too, I think his numbers may be inflated by that.

But still the guy has a high score of 283 in FC's. Shows that he has the temperament to play a long innings. I know that Jeet Raval has been very good at the top but trying him for few games is not a bad idea.

The guy with most misleading FC stats..

Munro is nothing more than a T20 specialist.

Bring Raval in odis...He will compliment Guptill very well.

How come misleading? He has only played a Test. He will click in Test cricket as well, if given a go.

A hack as I stated. A fantastic T20 batsmen but he doesn't seem to be a cut in ODIs, let alone tests format.

If he was playing for SA, Ind, Eng and Aus, he might not have been in the playing XI.

Fakhar is better than Munro.

UAE pitches aren't conductive for big hitting.

It takes a while for aggressive players to get accustomed.

Can't blame Munro.

He'll be extremely useful in England

Munro is good for both 20 20 and OD .

His role is to get after bowling , naturally will not be that consistent but when it is his day , he can give you a really good start.

Munro was disappointing in this series. Needs to be more consistent at the top of the order.
