Comfortable four wicket victory for England in 2nd ODI against Pakistan

Luck favours the brave, we play a timid brand of cricket and naturally these iffy situations go against us

How many times will he get lucky now? We are not a top ODI unit, but luck has not been favouring us either. Babar's dismissal last game was also extremely unlucky.

We're doing pretty well. They have a run rate of 4.

Because they are chasing a low score with a long batting line up.

They are not too worried about run rate.

If they were chasing 300 and we bowled like this, we would have got smashed.

This match is dependent on Amir and Yasir only. No way Wahab and Hasan will contain them.

Yeah, and what does that tell you about how wonderful is our ODI bowling? I still can't believe Wahab's name shows up in every future XI roster, as if he was actually a good ODI bowler. Batting isn't the only problem.

Amir, gun barrel straight. No swing at all, Sohail and Hassan getting the ball to do a bit but he has been disappointing

But they bowl slower so its easier to play the swing. Amir is also good at the death.

You were advocating Hassan Ali for a while, did he not give you an autograph? not sure where he isn't big enough became a problem for you. Actually mind me, I keep forgetting you post on PP from Arkham Asylum :yk2
I totally support Hasan Ali.

But not as a bowler who can bat a bit. He's too short.

Just as Steve Smith went from being a bowling all-rounder to a specialist batsman, I think Hasan Ali needs to bat endlessly in the nets to make his batting good enough to be a Number 7 averaging 40 with the bat and able to be the fourth quick bowler and average 35 as a bowler.

5' 9'' too short? What's the height of Wasim , Waqar, Shoaib, Sarfraz and Imran Khan?

Wasim 6'3", He had less pace than Waqar but was more effective in Australia because of extra height. He used to get more bounce from same length than Waqar.

Sarfraz was even taller than Wasim, he was medium pacer but was effective in Australia.

The main difference between McGrath and Pollack was 5 inches of height. At same pace and same length he was able to get more bounce that fetch him lot more wickets, plus lot less runs and uncomfortable batsmen.

Garner at 6'10" was like Bradman in ODI, nobody could score against him, he was not that fast but was unplayable. Same goes for Ambrose and Walsh.

Irfan is not physically fit, but that's a different thing. If he was as fit as Ambrose or Garner, would have been world no 1 bowler in all formats. Height is huge for fast bowler and basket ball center, you cannot go wrong with that [emoji86][emoji86][emoji86]

Can't believe my cable operator didn't make one of the star sports channel, which is showing this match, available today.

What a waste of a free day.

Seriously How Awful of a Batsman is Hales :)) - Seems like a Pakistani Batter to be honest :)))

Meh

251

Unless Amir or someone takes 3/4 wickets straight away

no hope

Hell yeah :hamster: if we keep getting wickets like this we will be able to control their run rate.

Nice.. Believe it or not this wicket is because of Hassan's excellent pressure

To be honest, he has always been overrated, I only think he's suited to the T20i format for England, and even there it will be hit and miss but because of a only few games, he'll get away with it.

I think imad is a decent all rounder who will give u economy as a bowler and will pick wickets via pressure, i think hes someone who looks to improve his game, who agrees?

I'm saying that Hasan Ali will never be Dale Steyn, but if he works A LOT on his batting he could become Azhar Mahmood.

And then play 120 Tests and 300 ODIs.

If we get Root some how, spinners can possibly run through the rest [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15]

Take Hasan Ali off after this over. Bring Riaz on or maybe Yasir Shah

Im impressed with hassan ali, good accuracy with subtle movements

looks like pitch is getting a little slow need to keep it tight and keep chipping wickets away

I'm ever amazed by how dreamy are your expectations of tailenders. So all that's required of him is that he become the world's best no 7? And he will do this just by practicing a lot? But we don't actually need an opening strike bowler capable of taking wickets? Because right now, with Amir's form being what it is, we don't have one. No one like Starc, or Steyn, or even a Shami. If he can do about as well as he has in domestics with the ball (ave 18) then he should already be guaranteed a spot.

Wahab can't release pressure with his front foot no balls etc. Why is there no leg gully ffs, awful captaincy

He averages 16 in FC cricket with only one 50 in 33 innings. It will take one hell of an effort to improve on that and rarely will you see Pakistani Cricketers transform into a decent A/R all of a sudden.

Yeah, and again, all the weirder that 6'5" Sadaf never got even so much as a look in, and likely never will, even ahead of a tour to Oz.

I sincerely hope this is the last series of Azhar, Hafeez, Malik and Wahab
