Hello everyone, I'm creating this thread to have a knowledge on different expressions used in urdu, Pakistani Punjabi, Pashto, Baloch region (if they have different language) , kashmiri etc.

How do you greet someone. Like in hindi Good morning is Suprabhat, Good night is Shubh ratri -however nobody i know uses those terms in real life. A simple hello is Namaste or Pranam. We touch feet of our elders when we greet them in India.

Following are some observations and questions of mine.

I know some terms used among Muslim community like Aadab or Salamwalequm. Is there any other way of greetings in Pakistani languages or gestures used?

The terms Mashallah or shubhanallah are used when something pleasant happens and you thank the God, isn't it?

How do you express the anger or frustration or if you fear something like in English its- Oh God, $hit, Damn it etc. Hindi terms are similar like- Hey bhagwan. In north India we swear a lot like MC, BC etc

Whats the Expression of hate or when you despise something or when some unexpected tragedy or something dreadful happens?

I have seen people using Alhamdulillah and similar sounding terms here on PP. What does it mean?

I'm genuinely curious and tried googling but different sites have different notions so wanted to know from the people of region itself. Please feel free to add more.

Trust me, nobody says AADAB here in Pakistan. Indian films should scrap this idea now

it is simple like " ASSALAM O ALAIKUM" and a handshake to go with it.. No feet touching etc.

It means "THANKS TO ALLAH"

So you say Assalam o Alaikum irrespective of occasions, time of the day or there are different terms like Good morning, Good night, Hello etc?

How do say bye when you're leaving?

yes when we meet no matter the time, it is ASSALAM o ALaikum

For bye, we say ALLAH HAFIZ / KHUDA HAFIZ.

Yes it is the formal greeting and most used greeting. Aadab etc not used.

In Punjabi informally amongst friends there are other greetings. But usually it is proceeded Salaam. Leaving is also Salaam or Allah Hafiz/ Khuda Hafiz.
