No one knew until now , why and where was Rabada hiding while not playing in IPL when he returned home, for what CSA described as for "personal reason". Only now CSA have disclosed Rabada was caught using some banned recreational drugs while playing cricket . This was not a "personal matter", and the respective board was bound to disclose the positive result of a banned substance used by a contracted player. And, that's not all , Rabada is back after taking some " rest" at howe and will be available for IPL game for GT. Banning for one month is nothing but a joke , its like taking a short rest/break, , what a shame and not a good step by CSA to discourage drug use in professional cricket, regrettable.

Before anyone can blamed the IPL , Rabada failed a doping test, for the use of a recreational drug, on 21 January and was notified about the result on 1 April 2025.

Some recreational drugs should not be banned in cricket. How is it that you are allowed to get blackout drunk as a player? but smoking weed can get you banned? Eventhough marijuana is less harmful than alcohol.

Whoever banned him was defo on some recreational drug or drunk :yk

Very surprised. Rabada doesn't seem that type. He is also very talented; he doesn't need to do this.

Time to demote Rabada from the premier league to feeder leagues like PSL and BPL.

That's why media validation is important- as they control what goes brushed under the carpet and what flings as dirty laundry.

Good news. During this crucial 'Road to playoffs' week, Gujarat Titans need Rabada.

Kagiso Rabada's first media interaction since the doping incident:

"Look, this is not an ideal situation. I don't need too many pats on the back here. I'm going to be joining with them again. I've already spoken to them and I guess we can do so in more detail when we get together for an extended amount of time."

"As you would have seen in my statement there are some people who would have been disappointed. And to those people I'm deeply sorry," Rabada said. "The people closest to me are the ones I felt I let down.

"But life moves on. I'll never be 'Mr-I-Apologise' too much. But I'll never condone that action."

I have gone out on limb for a long while, but Rabada has never looked the same bowler after the ball tampering controversy v Australia. He has always been decent but on flat tracks he looks very ordinary
