Knocks out a team which sacked him with no class, and appointed a chancer who met with owners to get the job..

Well done, Dean Jones!

Not to mention the same behind-the-scenes drama when he applied for the PCB Coach.

Shows how incompetent Misbah is as a coach. United was and still is a top team but poor planning let them down.

Dean Jones made his dissapointment with the decision made by the IU owners just to facilitate Misbah they sacked a guy who coached them to the playoffs since inception. Karma is a b as this was IU worst ever PSL showing and it is no surprise it took place under Misbah ul Haq

Tbf, MIG, he can hardly say, "HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA, I BEAT THEM." It seems classless.

But he wouldn't be human if there wasn't some triumphalism

Not sure he can gloat after the worst chase in history

Never seen anyone so scared of Shadab and zafar before

Dean Jones is ovverated as a coach on PP. I think he could be a decent batting coach but if he was so good an international team or an Australian domestic side would have him in place.

Classy response from a gentleman.

It’s not that he’s a great coach in terms of the intellectual aspect of the game why people wanted him.

He gelled and connected really well with the young IU players and there’s not too many foreign coaches who can do that.

Plus, I’m sure he had some hand to play in IU winning 2 PSL’s and reaching three Finals.

But Jones shoots from the hip; he does not play politics and I think that can serve the locker-room in Pakistan a world of good.

I wouldn't be reading too much into performances in the PSL. Had Ronchi and Munro been playing the game could have gone a different way.

I think he can be a very good batting coach, but when your own country isn't looking to employ you as a coach. You have to wonder why that is.

The fact that he had to include second para in his message. Of course he meant to rub salt for sure. Otherwise he didn't have to include this second para.

Can you blame him? If some place said I wasn't good enough, and then I went somewhere and outperformed my old team, I'd be very happy too

It's human.

Obviously, T20 tournaments are won and lost on factors of luck and “what-ifs”.

But all that matters is the end result but yes, they should not be given too much emphasis even if we do use them as a race for national selection.

People only want Dean Jones due to his PSL success.

Ifs and buts.

Islu had their services but only one 3 games out of 9. That’s a poor tournament regardless of the result today.

He has done the right thing.

I was just deciphering his second para. His "intended message" got delivered. 'Don't' in second para is silent.Otherwise there was no need of second para for simply telling his love for old team.

It has to do with better coaches available in Aussie system. The opposite is true for Pakistan.

Pakistan fans act like Dean Jones is a saviour. If he was so good he would have had some role in Australian cricket in recent times but he hasn't.

There’s really no need for this kind of antagonism towards DJ. He’d be an upgrade over Misbah and that’s just clear as a daylight.

Having experience is enough to be better than Misbah.

Being better than Misbah isn't enough of a criteria to replace him.

Well I beg to differ. You can’t have a too technical coach in the system because that’s not how our system is wired at the grassroots. Our players are not equipped to take that much amount of technicalities to channelise them into their game.

Islamabad jumped the gun in getting rid of Jones and that has been clear to see during PSL5.

A few people working at IU got a bit excited after 2 tournament wins and thought they were major cricketing brains. But it's been shown now who was actually steering the ship at IU and who were the freeloaders.

He seems like a really cool guy. I highly doubt he cares too much but it is a minor victory for him.
