Never seen such rude display of celebrating mediocrity and negativity for the losing cause. PCB and Babar deserves this humility. If they dont improve, the grounds will eventually be empty of the crowds and the gains of moving cricket at home would be NONE.

This is where we stand
Feels to me that the series on a psychological level for Pak was treated as more of a national exhibition, it was about the event of Australia touring Pakistan and they were acting excessively chummy and grateful towards the Aussies for doing this — as opposed to going out there and actually trying to beat them at a game of cricket. This is not a healthy mentality for elite pro sportsmen and certainly not one that they should take forward at all.

Test cricket is all about taking 20 wickets, these two have taken 9 wickets in 6 inns and they are happy about it.
Show them their avg and SR compared to the Aussies even though not many wickets were taken in this series...

If it is so, then their running on a bad strategy, they should take a leaf outta BCCI book..
They can be strong, make more money, only if their grassroots level are making intl standard players, if the team has superstar players, if the team is good enough to beat top teams home and away, then they can make more money..
Subcontinent admire cricket and lot of cricket fanatics here, though Australia is a good team but dont make more money as BCCI is because the ppl who watch , follow cricket is comparatively very low

Where were you all when they were providing stats of Babar and Rizwan against the most helpless bowling attacks with their pathetic strike rates? Was your intelligence not insulted then? What if Rizwan was in the top 2-3 run scorers of this series, would you still have an issue with this post by the PCB??

Ever since RR appointment as chairman, the PCB social media team has been on overdrive to manufacture an image of Pakistan as the "nice guys" of world cricket. From the Namibia and Scotland stunt in the world T20 to the infinite videos showing of the "terrific" sportsmanship between Pakistan and Australia, it is very clear that the higher ups in the PCB want to create a team which is marketable to most casual viewers of the game.
It seems as though the PCB are more interested in making cute videos, selling sponsorships etc etc instead of seeing the team do well. Just shows that the guys in charge probably have a greater interest in putting money into the boards piggy bank rather than actually creating a system that will produce results.

To be honest, this is the right wing culture that exists in thr ****ry as a whole. The right wing believes in the conceot of posting positive news only and no negativity(reality). When this becomes a part of the political culture than we shouldnt be surprised about the spillage of such culture into our institutions like PCB.
What PCB did here is basically whats being done at the govt level with regards to the country.
The chairman is a political appointee, hence, the apple doesnt fall far from the tree.

Some tough decisions ahead for Babar and the PCB. Firstly- AA has to go, everytime the team is under pressure he fails, its time to wave good bye. Fawad looks out of his depth against fast bowlers- time to say good bye- I would like to see Saud and Chacha come in for these 2. Both the spinners have to go- cant turn the ball, have no guile or flight. Sajid looks a better bat than the does as spinner. Although Asghar has little control, i live in the hope that he may come good at the higher level, otherwise back to Yasir. Hasan Ali needs to go back to FC and regain confidence.

Gosh, hours after a shameful loss of test and series which could have been won. Shameful, ridiculous . If this is the mentality, celebration on losing , I'm even more worried about the future of Pak cricket.

AA has been a none entity under pressure for a long time. He does enough to hang around but him around we can't progress. Babar talks a good game but his mindset is defensive. I agree that he won't drop AA but aa long as he is around, we ain't going anywhere. AA most likely to be around until 2025. Another decade wasted with average to mediocre players. England dropped 2 legends, this guy is average. Make the tough calls and we will progress

What a shame that would be when Azhar ALi , a mediocre cricketer , who never saved or won a match for his country will play 100 tests and will join the greats of the games, ridiculous.
It’s hard to get behind the team when players are playing purely based on friendship. How can someone get behind the team when you have 40 year old uncles like Azhar, fawad, Sajid and nauman playing to top it off you have a tik tok dancer Hasan Ali. That’s half of the team which is of no use at all.

Is this really an acceptable standard of performance at home and if not what lessons are being learnt?
Are they wanting to create a winning culture within the team or just happy to show visitors what good hosts we are?

This is the core issue. Not the result itself, but the shoulder shrugging and issue avoidance type of reaction to the result which seems to be going on.
Because in their head they're thinking the series is lost because of only bad session, while the first two matches were dominated by Pakistan.
This is dangerous going forward though as the bubble around this squad is reeking of a mafia type approach, while happily collecting pay cheques that come their way anyway.

This is why there were celebrations after the second test. Worst case we will lose “only” 1-0 and we can paper that up with some “we were unlucky and gave it our all” “Young team” statements.

India of 90s was even more competitive despite half of the team was full of match fixers like Prabhakar, Jadeja, Azhar, Mongia, etc.
They cleared the weed in 2000 match fixing scandal; increased the players salary and held every one accountable for their performances.. At one time even Ganguly was thrown out of the team because of his non performances..
Above all, most important thing is BCCI and Indian players know if they WIN there will be more $$$ and they get paid more..On the other hand we have lots of political influences, and PCB official are here only for their jobs, and players too (some are real sifarishis and parchis) they know even if they do not perform they can still be in team
In India , parchi system does not work; example of Rohan Gavaskar/ Roger Binny (They had strong parchis , but could play only handful of games and were exposed, and were sidelined for ever) .. If Arjun Tendulkar (Sachin's son) was in Pakistan, he would have been touted as better than Wasim Akram by some (including Wasim Akram as well)
He would have said , Arjun is better than me when I was 20 yo; he is the next superstar..bla,bla, bla..

He can become a brilliant cricketer but wasting his time on PR stunts
He should be aware, in Pakistan and in PCB things change rapidly and spontaneously; and no player (no matter how big he was for Pak) was spared..Any slight change in govt. and we might see new sets of players

Why are you bringing up T20 when we just lost in Tests? I’m sure most people know that even with Babar and Rizwan, our test team is very weak and our worst format by far.

From the expected 0-3 loss to actual 0-1 loss, is actually a HUGE achievement by PCB n it’s Think Tanks. We already know their mental caliber and limited vision.
Let them have their moment of glory.
The dead pitches formula almost worked as they originally planned for 0-0 draw after three tests, and consider themselves as good as the Australian Test team.
Bit insulting to call Pakistan gave an easy victory to Australians just cause they toured to Pakistan. They had to work hard throughout all the series to win matches for pitches you guys provided & with the defensive mindset you played. Australia had to force result and they worked hard for series win.

We are massively underestimating Pakistan’s performances. Remember we had mediocre players like Sajid, Nauman, Fawad and yet we only lost 1-0.
