Did we expect West Indies to completely roll over?

I mean, I understand the West Indies team are a shadow of their former self, have been pretty bad over the past few years and are missing some key players but reading some of the posts and threads here, it is as if people expected them to turn up and lose comfortably each time.

This is an international level team, with talented if inconsistent and inexperienced players. Our batting today could have been far better but we scored 300+ and paced our innings nicely at the end despite a lack of hitters. In bowling, we were in control for two thirds of the innings, but some poor bowling and captaincy at the end lost it for us.....combined with some very good batting. Credit where credit is due.

So wrist slitters and revolutionaries relax, this was one match. We had a team consisting of Kamran (proven international failure), Shehzad and Wahab (mediocre cricketers) and Hafeez (completely over the hill). They all actually had a good day for their standards except maybe Wahab, so we actually were lucky to do as well as we did. Unfortunately our young guns largely failed today while West Indies' perfomed, that was the difference.

This team doesn't even have the same players that beat us in the World Cup?

How can you concede 150 runs in 16 overs and then be labeled the best bowling attack?

15 overs to be precise because clearly 16 were too much for Windies A team.

Those labelling us 'the best bowling attack' must be seriously deluded. I see only match winner in that attack and today was his debut game.

Amir is still below average after the opening spell, Hasan has potential but is starting to get demolished a few times now, and Wahab is a complete joke living off the memory of a few good spells. We then have a darter (a good one but a darter none the less), a post-action change Hafeez and Malik's part time offspin.

I don't see why Asif and Salman Butt can't play over these hacks.

You don't see why, we should bring back older guys after long lay offs while our current older guys and guys with long layoffs are struggling.

I did. I mean just look at their batting lineup - the majority of these guys would not even get into the Ireland or Afghanistan first XI.

thee current older guys were always mediocre and useless players.

Guys, don't worry, this is a blessing in disguise. Expect major changes, In Sha Allah. :inzi

They are a very underrated side. Some real good hitter in the side. Nurse and Jason put our bowlers to the sword. Suddenly, Shadab looked very average not knowing where he should bowl. Again most have talked him up to early.

That sounds ominous, are there any TTFs left to bring back? :srt

Your signature fits in well with the theme of this thread.

This Windies side might have some serious talent in a season or 2. Mohammed, Hope, Nurse, and Joseph make a pretty good core group.

With all the IPLers out tho, this is currently a 2nd string WI side.

But I think they are guys that will take WI forward.

I know that Pakistan is probably one of the worst ODI sides, but still, never expected a 2nd string WI to win here.

Pakistan well deserved to play the qualifiers for 2019 CWC for their consistent TTF selection policy. Moreover their captains policy of keeping their friends first ahead of deserving players in the main 11. Hope they get whitewashed and everyone thrash their school of thoughts.

I always expected this to happen. Even said it somewhere. You don't ever dare to not take my opinions not seriously.I am rarely biased in rating teams and players. Most ppers would think I am biased Indian posters. Pakistan has been mediocre for a long time now regardless of format. :yk2:

He's shameless, tweeted to Salman Iqbal that he's expecting to play PSL in the next season

i was shouting at top of my lungs
this is 350+ pitchhhhh
was that soo difficult to read to othrs ppers?
cmon when your most pathetic top 3 can score this much of runs even though shehzad outclass both ..his catch dropped within 10 runs countless runout missed with test level sr.
wahab and hassan should never play together both bowls without any plan
it seems like they are in for some kinda competition who will bowl fast no matter how many runs they go for they just want to bowl quick. i will prefer sami over wahab . atleast he can get his yorkers right.
sarfraz should open the innings with kami. or need to get a left hander if theres any*.
demoting babar was a serious crime .
shehzad should work in lollywood.
if pak lose this series and if misbah became important member of pcb ppers should get ready to welcome Azhar Ali in odi.

And who other than yourself (PAK fans) labelled you the best bowling attack ? The Proteas sing praises for Steyn/Rabada/Philander and Aussies consider Starc/Josh to be the best pair at the moment.

I fail to understand if thats a joke or thats serious. At best, Pakistani bowling attack is mediocre. People can console themselves by laughing at past Indian trundlers, the fact is Pakistani bowlers are rubbish more often than not.

Since Amir has made a comeback all focus has been on him, Pakistani selectors and even fams behave as if Amir is the main hero and other bowlers (especially pacers) are just mere supporting cast. I wonder if Bhatti gets place instead of Wahab would it harm PAK combo? You get extra batting, no ?
