PAK's best WK with gloves is Julkarnine, without much doubt. & I saw a guy few years back Jamal Anwar with very good technique. But Jamal is probably at par with AAkmal with bat & Julkarnine should never be allowed to come close to National team (Criket isn't a game for insane).
Sarfraz is the best bet for long term WK as he is technically much better bat & has an intelligent head. However, one has to lash him regularly to improve his keeping, otherwise I see a KKakmal in making. 10 years back, KKakmal came with overall better promise than Sarfraz - then got the comfort that his batting is good enough to keep him in team & PAK as a whole doesn't bother much for keeping or fielding.
Who's that?
This young guy seems a good wicket keper batsman and he played a good innings of 34 off 28 balls against Sialkot in the recent T20 cup. He was dropped after the next match in favour of Muhammad Waqas, who made scores of 2,14,5 and 24 in the tournament.
I am not saying that Waqas shouldn't have played. He is a good young player and should be given opportunities but there were other players in the Karachi team who could have made way for a talented player like Saifullah Bangash.
Saifullah is very young at this level and he hasn't been talked about a lot but at just 19 years of age, his FC stats are also good where he has scored 493 runs at an avg of 41 with a higest score of 148*.

Saifullah piled on quite some runs in his first FC seasonHe was rightly dropped IMO. Should not have played ahead of Waqas initially. He got 2 games if I'm not wrong. He performed against Sialkot somehow. Waqas did pretty well last time with Dolphins and Zebra. Don't know why wasn't he played ahead of Bangash initially.

Waqas is that leftie right?
Good batsman he is. Finished quite a few chases well IIRC.
He would have done better than many other players. Read the OP carefullyYups!. Saifullah was dropped for a experienced and superior player.

From nowhere now he has golden chance.
5 T20i matches against England lions if I am not wrong and he will have chance to press for a call up to the national squad.
Golden opportunity at the age of 20.
With both Rizwan and sarfraz struggling with not just batting strike rates but also averages in international T20 cricket massively New Boy has golden chance and timely chance to impress the selectors.
Tbh I am sick with this chopping and changing every other match and so far it has yielded negligible results just Stick with Rizwan or Sarfaraz who ever the management deems to be fit and play them for a couple of games. This merry go round of Rizwan and Sarfaraz will not do any good for the team nor will the bringing of another 3rd keeper. The only thing they will do will play for themselves.
The worst thing this management does is that if Hafeez fails it's ok he can continue but if Rizwan a youngster fails he should be benched In my honest opinion Rizwan should not have been benched today. If you are going to chop and change on match by match performance then our team will never be settled.
Bottomline either stick with Rizwan or Sarfaraz and play them in all the games. If after a large sample size they dont perform then dropping them is justified otherwise no.
Fans need to be a bit patient as well select a core group of players and stick with them results will eventually come.
Rizwan will get the next match in place of sarfraz and it will be his last chance.
Hafeez wasn't dropped because he has 7 T20i fifties and his average is 23 and strike rate is 115. Where as Rizwan averages 19 with strike rate of 95.
When two players fail team loses and team management feels than fit again malik should be played than you pick the player with better record and drop the other. That is why Rizwan got dropped. Now sarfraz has failed in 2 games so Rizwan will get a chance.
There in no Julkarnine in Pakistan's domestic cricket, never was.
I think, Mamoon answered that.
Honest question why do you some time spell Zafar as Jafar and Zulqarain as Julqarain?
Proper noun is spelled differently in different countries, particularly Muslim names. I am sure you 'll hardly see Hossain, Hosen, Zakaria, Zahid, Kazi................... in Pakistan or middle-east.
Jafar is Bengali is spelled with soft "ja", rather than hard "ja", while Q is not used is proper nouns - it's Kazi/ Kader/Kamrul........
I try to write correct spellings, but sometimes.....
0 runs in the tournament so far.
Comes in at no.10. (Was promoted up the order to #7,8 one game and got at on 0.)
Is he a throwback to the 70s and 80s?
"Karachi Lobby did it"
srsly speaking, have heard high praise for him by others here so maybe give him more time I guess? Not sure tbh.
We either have keepers who are excellent behind the stumps but garbage in front of it, or vice versa.
Who is the WK excellent behind?
mohammad salman
Neither Jamal nor Salman are special ....The u 19 keeper the other day Umair Masood looked one hell of a talent can see him playing for Pak within a year or twoNothing special to be honest. I have seen him in WI, sometimes 2011, when he was officially almost 35.
The WK that I think is quite decent is Jamal Anwar, someone should bat along or behind Tanvir, tells lot about WK prospects of Pakistan. What happens is that, it's most neglected skill - whenever a WK is good with gloves, but not so with bat is not considered while whichever WK with good batting skills, once solidify his spot, fell sick to Kamran Akmal syndrome.
By the way, till 2005, Kamran was a better WK than Salman, whatever Rashid Latif might say on this.
Actually he was quite poor at U19 Level. But I do agree with giving him time; he had a good FC season.Give the guy some time, he was decent at U19 level

I don't think anyone from Karachi hyped him. It's an irony of this whole forum that they don't watches and make the players super stars.
There was a thread based on fbt20 talking about his batting skills as bangash was dropped for Muhammad waqas. I was certain he was right fully dropped but some brothers kept arguing.
Saifullah can only be a test specialist after some time. He's not a T20 player by any means.
Even if we play a backup keeper in Tests, it's gonna be Rizwan so I cannot see Saifullah Bangash breaking into the test lineup at all; unless and until Sarfaraz gets injured or something and Rizwan goes into the most horrible slump of form in his career yet - Saifullah won't make it.
Heck even then i would probably take either Rehan Afridi or Umair Masood than this tailenderseriously Karachi used to produce gun keepers and Sarfraz is a good addition to the list. Saifullah just is tailender who is somewhat decent behind the stumps. I bet even Adnan Akmal would out bat him on most occasions and that says a lot about Saifullah's batting credentials.
